electricwalker76 said:What happens if I drink way too much Coca-Cola in a day? I’m obsessed—I end up chugging tons of it during my vacations, maybe two or three weeks' worth every few months...

Real question! That's exactly what I wanted to ask.🙏
Honestly, you don't even want to know how much I go through.🙄 😁
Long story short: there's no such thing as too much Coca-Cola.😍

When you lose someone in your immediate family, that's when the panic sets in about whether you're next on the list.
What's your take on this????????

I'll worry about it once I actually lose someone in my first degree circle.🙂
For now, the only thing running through my dad's side is high blood pressure.
Nothing from my mom's side at all.🤷

Maybe I'll be the one to throw a curveball into the genetic mix!🤣🤣
northerneagle3 said:But hey, you’re a mother, so it’s completely normal to be spiraling like this... 🙂 That's basically what mothers are for...
On the flip side, you're also a rational human being who knows deep down that money doesn't buy happiness. Any kid would choose to sit on the floor playing with paper napkins with their mom over being left alone in some massive palace. You won't go out and buy every single toy she points at because you know you have to teach her how to be humble and grounded. But then again, you'll probably end up buying almost everything else just because you're a mom...

I always used to tell my girl that life was going to slap me around enough on its own, so she didn't need any extra help from me... 🙂 And lo and behold, I ended up getting pretty much everything I ever wanted, which is why now I'm stuck being responsible and frugal and fully aware that I can't just have whatever I feel like grabbing. Life has a way of handing out punishments and rewards that eventually teach you all that stuff...

And as for the whole "you're beautiful" thing... you aren't actually hurting her. If anything, you're building someone with actual self-confidence. And if you ever notice her getting an ego, then you just give her a reality check and let her know there are people out there more attractive than her—even if, in your eyes, there aren't. 🙂

This reminds me of an old friend of mine.🙄 Her parents basically worshipped the ground she walked on, and she turned into a total narcissist (with zero substance to back it up). She had such issues with everyone and everything around her that I was the only one who could stand her. Until one day, I couldn't.☕
And now she's miserable, mostly because nobody gets it. Nobody sees how "brilliant" and "stunning" she is.🙄
So yeah... don't go overboard with the (unearned) praise.

Yeah pure.😢 Brutal.😲

Damn, I think they actually use that terminology in the Quran.😁
Andrew Cox7 said:Honestly, I feel like every single parent should have to pass a basic course on human psychology and child development before they even think about having kids.
The secret sauce? It’s pretty simple: just pour out tons of love, show some empathy, and—most importantly—actually be PRESENT.
Let’s be real, life happens. Between personal struggles and just going through different phases, it’s totally possible to slip up or fail at being the "perfect" parent. It sucks because every stage of growing up matters so much, but the goal is to avoid making those massive, life-altering mistakes during the big developmental milestones.
Kids are like little sponges; they pick up on their parents' anxiety, stress, and unhappiness instantly. That’s why you can never stop working on yourself. A better version of you means a better parent for them.
That’s actually what I always tell my mom: "If you truly care about me, then make sure you take care of your own happiness first."
When a parent is happy and full of love, it's hard to mess things up badly, though let's face it, we're all human and we're all gonna trip up sometimes...
Growing up, finding independence, and just tackling life head-on is brutal for everyone. Both kids and parents are constantly navigating this messy psychological journey together.

Exactly.
People really need to get over this idea that they have some divine right to reproduce. Treating human lives like little social experiments is messed up. If people actually saw the percentage of anxious, depressed, or otherwise broken individuals out there—people who unconsciously pass all that baggage down to their kids—the numbers would be terrifying.

Some guy in my class had one of those. And yeah, it was from a cat.😲
Ugh, honestly, I still get the chills just thinking about it.😢
Sarah Long65 said:That’s a tough one to wrap my head around, hmmmmmmmmmmm

If we look at this from a purely financial perspective, there's a real catch-22 here. For instance, if you don't provide your child with a certain level of stability or nice things, they might face bullying at school—kids can be ruthless about who has the latest gear or the best clothes. Eventually, that child grows up and blames you for the social struggles they faced because they felt left behind.............. and that's a heavy burden to carry....................

On the flip side, let's say you're wealthy and your kid has everything they could ever dream of handed to them on a silver platter. In that case, they might turn around and blame you too, claiming you spoiled them so much that they never learned the value of hard work, grit, or even just focusing on their studies and life goals..........

And honestly, in that scenario, they'll probably point the finger at you for any issues they have with substance abuse down the road, too............

But we don't need to go to those extremes. I have relatives who are seriously wealthy. But they didn't just hand their kids everything on a platter. Not even close. Their sons work at the family corporation, pulling the exact same salary as any other employee. They live off that paycheck, take out their own loans, and pay them back like everyone else.
The issue is when parents don't know how to set boundaries. That's when you end up with this bolded mess. 🙂
Jessica Chavez4 said:For instance, I was told I had to go the prep school route because, in my eyes, those vocational high schools were just breeding grounds for losers and addicts. Now, I’ve been stuck in college forever because I can't land a decent job without a degree—I'm basically just a high school diploma holder with nothing to show for it. 😬

And honestly, I don't get what people are complaining about above. I really don't see the issue with taking a gap year after high school. 🤷

Imagine if it were only three years, though.😲

Hip Issues - General Discussion Thread in Health ·
Sometimes I feel like it's my right hip, other times it’s right at the base of my spine.🤷
Over the last few years—and I’m only 24🙄—I keep getting this sharp catch whenever I move a certain way. The thing is, the movements aren't even "awkward." Like, if I'm lying on my side and try to sit up, everything just locks up on me, and I need a minute or two to actually recover.

I had hip issues when I was a kid. I even had to wear those hip braces back when I was a baby.
Does that have anything to do with what's happening now, or am I just paying the price for a crappy lifestyle?🤣 (lying around, being lazy, constantly wearing heels...)
Here’s my simplest piece of advice: just let your kid be who they actually are. Most parents walk around with these little—or sometimes huge—expectations and this mental image of how their "precious" child should live or act... then they subtly (if not outright aggressively) push them toward that specific mold, basically suffocating any hint of a real personality.
The result? The kid never gets a chance to actually develop into themselves.

Honestly, I’ve read some truly idiotic examples of just how far human stupidity can go—it’s actually mind-blowing. I even know about a case lately where a mom was forcing her left-handed kid to write with their right hand!🙏 Unbelievable.🙄 Because, you know, clearly that’ll just make life so much easier for them!🙏
And all this character reshaping and whatever else they do? They do it under the guise of "doing what's best" for the kids.☕

bluewalker33—since you’ve been living under a rock lately, let me fill you in: my cousin is deaf-mute, and just like that, he possesses some other sense that's dialed way up to eleven...
for instance, a car could be barreling down the street, and even if he can't hear a thing, he’ll feel the vibration of its approach from half a mile away without even glancing in its direction...

The Earth is constantly in motion, vibrating beneath our feet, so it's perfectly logical that you’d have some heightened sensory perception...it’s really nothing to get worked up about....

Obviously. When you lose one sense, the others often sharpen up.

Honestly, I’m shocked by how much sheer stupidity and mindless trolling is happening in this thread.☕
People like that are just primitive, plain and simple.

urbandrifter8 said:Sure, "sanity" is just a subjective label. Plenty of people ahead of their time were branded as crazy, while those acting totally normal were actually just sociopaths or psychopaths hiding behind double lives. It’s all relative.
Look, do you really think someone who's depressed because their life is a total wreck at 21 is "insane"? You honestly believe psychiatry and drugging them up with a cocktail of pills is going to help? Plus, they probably already struggle with substance abuse—do they really need an addiction to meds on top of that? Antipsychotics, sedatives, antidepressants... yeah, great idea. 🙄
Way too much unconventional behavior gets labeled as madness. Most of the time, it's just the surrounding environment and its constant judgment and prejudice that actually creates disorders in sensitive people.

Look, honey, if you really want to bury your head in the sand, go right ahead. Be my guest.
I'm not gonna try to talk sense into you.☕

But seriously, ask yourself if you’re actually doing okay—if you look at the mess described in that opening post and don't think it's a total red alert.
Good luck!👋

Anyone ever dealt with this before?🙄
My period showed up two weeks early😕, right after having some really intense sex.🤣🤣(And yeah, we’re talking an intense 45-minute session🙈). So, I'm wondering—could that actually be what triggered it?🤷

Usually, my cycle is totally fine. At least, it has been since I was 13.
Not even a remote possibility.
I’d probably end up being some drag king.🤣

I love being a woman way too much—there is zero chance I could ever pull off being a guy.😍

Forcing a laugh is just toxic—it doesn't help anyone.☕

Honestly, though, how people laugh is totally subjective. Some folks find everything hilarious, some have zero sense of humor at all, and then you’ve got the ones with that super twisted, dark wit...🤷

Neither extreme works for me.
