Hey ladies, I was just wondering how many of you actually stuck to your New Year's resolutions regarding dieting? Well, I'll go first! My best friend and I always seem to find ourselves signing up for a gym membership every January, and we're actually thinking about starting a fun little tradition where we also book some extra wellness treatments, maybe some acupuncture or something similar to really kick things off.
Does anyone remember who suggested I check out that specialist over on Main Street? I'm having such a hard time tracking down their phone number... help a girl out?
Wedding said:I’m not entirely sure how things work with gynecologists, but I recently switched dentists, and honestly, it felt like the exact same process! Basically, I just had to swing by the new dentist's office to see if they were accepting new patients, and once they said yes, I just gave them my old provider's info and called it a day. Since then, I’ve been officially on their roster without having to carry any paperwork around to my insurance provider or anything like that... so hopefully that helps, because it looks like I’ll be switching my primary OBGYN soon too!😠
I actually had a similar experience once upon a time! About a year ago when I was switching doctors, the nurse there went out of her way to point out how lucky I was to have brought my physical file with me, since so many people don't realize anymore that you aren't supposed to "carry" those files yourselves—you really have to take charge of the transition personally. So, what I'm thinking is that maybe it used to be easier back in the day, and now you just have to put in a little more elbow grease to make it happen.
It probably all comes down to the specific office you're dealing with, because while some staff might still handle the heavy lifting for you, others might just pass the buck and tell you it's your responsibility. But one thing I am certain of is that you definitely need to get written confirmation first that the new doctor is actually willing to take you on as a patient.
Actually, first that new doctor has to give you official confirmation that they’re willing to take you on, and once you have that paperwork in hand, you can head over to your old clinic to pick up your records! It isn't actually true that they just "transfer everything" automatically anymore because the laws changed a few years back. In fact, the expectation is that YOU personally go grab those files and bring them to the new office. So, if you handle it yourself and swing by the local medical center, I really think you could get the whole thing sorted in just a couple of days and be all set to start seeing the new guy!
I'd suggest heading to the new doctor first to ask for that acceptance letter, and while you're there, maybe just double-check all the fine print with them!
I honestly used to just go along with everything they said at first, mostly because I was desperately hoping if I played nice, they’d finally just stop talking! I’d sit there listening to every single one of their endless complaints, but all that did was encourage them to turn up the volume even more.
Then, I caught this psychologist on TV explaining that being overly accommodating is actually a huge mistake and that you really need to face people with the blunt truth. It turns out, once you call out hypochondriacs, they get pretty offended and are totally capable of starting a massive argument, but the silver lining is that they stop dumping their drama on me, I spend way less time hanging out with those types, and I finally have some precious peace and quiet for myself!
My advice is to be polite, but don't hold back—just be incredibly direct with them. You aren't anyone's unpaid therapist, and you definitely shouldn't be working for free!
Could someone please tell me a little more about Dr. Greg from the University Health Center?
I’ve read through this entire thread and spotted a few downsides regarding her practice, though they mostly seem to boil down to long wait times—even with an appointment—and a rather rude nurse.
What I really want to know is how her actual medical work is, because honestly, if she's great at what she does, I can probably just deal with the other stuff! I heard a rumor somewhere that she might have moved on, is there any truth to that????
On another note, one big perk of the University Health Center clinics is that they have a lab right in the same building, and apparently, that lab only accepts internal referrals from the center's own doctors. If you need blood work or something similar, I imagine that's a massive plus! I'm not sure if they handle testing for other things, but... does anyone know??
Hey everyone, I’ve actually done some digging on Google myself and managed to find plenty of articles about ozone therapy for dental work!
But honestly, what I really want to know is if anyone here has actually tried it personally? Like, what was the actual experience like for you all? Any real-world feedback would be amazing!
You all gave such incredibly fascinating answers! Honestly, I think everyone should take a moment to look back at what they wrote and see what it reveals about themselves. 🙂
As for the whole idea of "normal"—well, I don't think it actually exists, because reality is really just a matter of how we perceive things, right? But man, what a great topic to dive into! 🙂
As far as I'm concerned, I still feel like I'm one of those few truly sane people left! And honestly, no amount of flashy headlines in the news can get under my skin—I know it's all just cheap tricks from the glossy paper used in magazines like 🙂🙂🙂
A buddy of mine actually told me I'm just like Leah from Big Brother, specifically because she broke down in tears thinking she was the only smart one in the house.
🙂🙂🙂
I mean, seriously, has nobody else ever had that thought about me? Like, yeah right!
I feel like I’ve dropped about five hundred posts here over the years, all venting about different struggles! For a while, a friend kept insisting I was just super anxious, so I went down a rabbit hole online reading up on anxiety and taking those little quizzes, only to realize that doesn't actually fit me at all. I thought maybe I was depressed for a bit too, but even that didn't quite hit the mark—I mean, there are definitely some elements there, but I'm nowhere near clinical depression.
The truth is, I've navigated some of the absolute worst stressors a person can face over the last three years, according to those official psychological scales professionals use. Between switching major careers twice, moving to a whole new city, and dealing with a serious illness and the loss of someone incredibly close to me... well, somehow I’m still standing! I haven't lost my cool, I'm working, I'm out of debt, and I'm definitely not in a psych ward. Sometimes I just don't feel overwhelmingly happy, mostly because after everything I've been through, it feels almost weird if I actually were.
Lately, I’ve hit this phase where it honestly feels like everyone around me is completely losing it, and I’m the only one left holding onto reality. People who have zero actual problems seem to manufacture all this massive drama. I have a friend of thirty years who constantly lists every single ache, pain, and allergy he has like it's a full-time job. Then there's the crowd that's totally uninterested in romance or anything physical. Another group thinks their entire identity is tied to their corporate job, and they absolutely lose their minds when they realize how replaceable they are and that big corporations don't give a damn about them. Then you've got people who think they're nothing if they aren't married with kids, and others who are desperately chasing fame just because their lives feel too quiet and uninteresting.
So then there's me, sitting there thinking, "Good grief, you guys are all insane!" My only real goal in life is to have a nice, modest, middle-of-the-road existence. I just want a relationship where nobody is terrorizing me with nonsense, a steady job that pays the bills, and enough peace of mind to make sure I don't burn out by the time I'm 35.
And that's really it. At the end of the day, I'm the one who ends up looking crazy while everyone else seems perfectly fine.
Anyway, do you guys ever get that feeling that the rest of the world has gone off the deep end and you're the only sane person left? Or am I actually the crazy one here? 🙂
I was just wondering, does anyone know if ozone therapy actually works for dental treatments?
Is it strictly for those tiny little cavities, or can it handle the bigger stuff too? I'm also super curious about how the whole process plays out—like, do they still have to use a high-speed drill, or is it more low-key than that?
Has anyone here actually gone through it themselves?
If you’re looking for the absolute cheapest private options, you should definitely check out $267, though honestly, I usually find the average price for a crown sits right around 1200-$433. You might have better luck finding another social service provider where you can snag a really solid deal for just $167 to get 🙂!
Who on earth is this Jurić guy, and what is it about him that you're so obsessed with? 🙂 Give me some actual reasons! Does he take Blue Cross insurance?
There are all sorts of different cysts out there, and while I don't know the official medical terminology off the top of my head, people usually just call them water cysts, chocolate cysts, or even paraovarian ones...
The only ones that are truly scary are the paraovarian cysts, because they typically sit on the outer surface of the ovaries, and if they start growing, they can actually turn into CANCER. If one of those types of cysts ruptures, it spills everything into the abdominal cavity, which can be life-threatening for a woman due to sudden shock. It’s incredibly painful, too, and almost always requires surgery since doctors have to thoroughly clean out the abdominal area to prevent sepsis from setting in.
There is absolutely no reason to wait around, so just get going as soon as you can! If everything turns out fine, you'll finally be able to breathe easy, but if things aren't right, you might just end up saving your own life.
