Gregory Cooper5 said:WOW, 15 days?! Major respect.

Can you walk me through the experience? Like, give me the gritty details... and maybe point me toward some books or websites if you want to dive deeper?

Getting your head right is everything. You have to be 100% sold on the idea that this is actually going to help you feel better. Once that clicks, you just go for it. No endless procrastinating. Springtime is probably the best window for it. It’s definitely easier if you can clear your schedule and not work during the fast, but hey, it's not a hard rule.
At first, I was strictly sticking to water, but man, sometimes that gets pretty nauseating. During a fast, your body cleans itself out on multiple levels—even through your saliva. Your spit ends up tasting totally different. To deal with that, I’d splash in a little orange juice, which made things way more tolerable. I spent a lot of time outdoors, even went for some light jogs. I felt tired, sure, but nowhere near as wiped out as I thought I would be. Hunger is the real beast for the first few days, but after that, it pretty much vanishes.
Enemas are non-negotiable, once or twice a day. You don't really need them the first two days. You just gotta find your rhythm, and then it becomes routine. Honestly, it’s wild how much junk your body actually flushes out that way.
When you start eating again, you have to be incredibly careful so you don't wreck your system. The general rule of thumb is that the refeeding period should last about as long as the fast itself.
The results? In short: everything basically resets back to its optimal settings.
Oh... and seriously, don't try fasting for more than 5-7 days if it's your first time.

I’ve done this a few times now, maybe up to 15 days at most. Honestly? It’s been nothing short of incredible. It feels like a total deep clean for your system, so I'm definitely planning on making this an annual thing.
Tick bite help! in Health ·
Bryan Murphy3 said:Hey, got bit by a tick on my shin. The head stayed stuck in my leg when I pulled it out, and now two days later, the whole spot is swollen, red, and itching like crazy. No bullseye rash yet—you know, the classic sign of Lyme disease. Not sure if I should just start popping some Zithromax already.

Man, I’ve been through this exact same thing a hundred times. It always itches, and there's always some redness, whether it's big or small. Honestly, I never really did anything about it, and nothing bad ever happened to me.
Mercury poisoning from dental amalgams in Health ·
Replacing just one filling is a massive headache, let alone trying to swap out a whole bunch of them. You've got those amalgam vapors drifting straight into your brain, not to mention you end up swallowing some of it during the actual procedure. It’s honestly pathetic how little most dentists here in the States actually know about the proper protocols before and after this kind of work. I remember asking mine about it, and they just gave me this blank, confused stare. The reality? People end up with serious toxicity issues that are a total nightmare to fix.
I wouldn't recommend getting amalgam fillings put in if I had any say in the matter. Even trying to fix them later is a complicated mess and potentially super risky.
Raymond Smith53 said:Who's even talking about visible metastases? And what does that actually mean? Just asking since we're throwing around this word "complexity." Honestly, you just said the same thing I did, you just tacked on that "complex" bit to make it sound like some gritty crime novel or to inject a little gloom. A CA-125 level around 1000 doesn't mean jack squat; it’s all about how far things have gone. I had markers so off the charts they couldn't even measure them, so there. Markers don't mean anything...

I see the anger here, and honestly, it's totally pointless.
The main reason I jumped in was because of that idea: "If it isn't, then with cancer, at least it's straightforward. You cut it out and it's gone."
Look, when you go under the knife, there's no way to be 100% sure if the cancer is still lurking somewhere else in the body. So, saying surgery wipes the slate clean is just wishful thinking. That's not being negative; it's just being real.
And I absolutely cannot get on board with the idea that a CA-125 value of 1000 means nothing. If that were true, doctors wouldn't even bother using it. I'm not saying it's a death sentence, but it definitely points toward a rough prognosis.
Raymond Smith53 said:Now everything just hinges on whether it's still spreading. If it hasn't metastasized, then cancer is actually pretty straightforward—you cut it out, and it's gone.

Look, cancer is way more complicated than that. We have zero clue if there are metastases hiding in there right now. Even when things look clean on the scans, they can pop up out of nowhere in a month, two months, or six. And honestly? If that CA-125 is sitting near 1000, there’s no reason to be feeling optimistic.
Flu shots [PLEASE READ FIRST POST!] in Health ·
Maria Young9 said:yet, I still find myself thinking that one really should get vaccinated.

The last time I caught the flu—and man, it absolutely wrecked me—was right after my last vaccination. That was over 25 years ago. Since then? Zero shots, zero flu. Just living life.
Can you finally ban that crazy user? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
quietpilot23 said:The mods over at Alternative aren't doing their damn jobs!

Up until last year, I was all over that site because I’m a huge science nerd and all that.

But man, the stuff being posted there lately? It's bordering on pure insanity.

Wait, you actually went to Alternative because you love science?

Nicole Johnson20 said:Do you guys honestly think it’s good for the community to have someone who’s sunk this deep into rock bottom just wandering around the forums like they own the place?

Come on, let's be real—shouldn't this guy just get a permanent ban?

(ps. these posts are over on Alternative, under the Prehan thread, just to make this whole thing even more twisted)

I mean, I don't really care personally. Me and the other girls stopped showing up ages ago because we aren't about to download some random PDF just to read this garbage. I'm just giving you a heads-up so you can't say nobody warned you 🙂

The way monty-zg acts is completely unhinged and totally lacks any shred of decency. Look, you don't have to agree with everything people say, but reacting to every single point with the most vile insults—all while claiming he's "protecting" readers who can't think for themselves—says everything you need to know about his character. His idea of an Alternative is stuck at some primal level where he constantly threatens to kick people out of the country if they don't parrot his exact thoughts. He clearly doesn't grasp what having an Alternative even means, and frankly, him being in this subforum is a total joke. Bottom line: the constant, low-brow trash talk is absolutely unacceptable.

Mark Cruz15 said:Great. Why don't you drop your credentials then? Show me where you studied medicine or how much you know about biochemistry and vaccine science so I can see if you actually know what you're talking about.
If you’ve got those, fine, go ahead and give advice. If not, you’re just a hack.

There goes that "we" again. Who exactly is this "we"? It’s just your massive ego talking. You aren't in a position to approve or ban anyone here. And you sure as hell aren't the authority on who counts as a charlatan in the world of alternative medicine. Do you even get what "alternative" means?
This isn't some exclusive club reserved for MDs. Is that not clicking for you?
So, what, only stuff from a CVS pharmacy counts as real healing?
It's pretty hilarious to me—you're totally cool with people being insulted, yet you turn around and whine about being insulted yourself.

Mark Cruz15 said:Yeah, because, like everyone keeps telling you, food isn't medicine. Stop telling people it is. Medical advice and anti-vax stuff are the only reasons you guys end up bickering with other members.
Look, I’m not gonna repeat myself—everything's already been laid out right here.

Oh, so chemicals from a drugstore cure everything?
"BEEN TOLD"?? Who told you that and why on earth would you trust them? Spare me the "we're the experts" routine again.
They aren't allowed to give advice? Then what the hell is this whole alternative medicine sub even for?
So, basically, you're fine with people being insulted. Pathetic. And if you actually tried to run one legit study on it? Oops, check back in ten years for the first results.

Roger Cooper91 said:🤦

So, before mandatory vaccines hit the scene, everyone was catching measles left and right, babies were dying from it, and we’re supposed to blame the moms because they took a vaccine that didn't even exist yet?

I don't get why you're shoving anti-vax pamphlets down our throats here, though honestly, it's almost funny seeing how much effort you put into these "alternative facts."

Once again, you have zero clue what's actually going on. How many babies actually died?
And who exactly decides what counts as an "alternative fact"? Or what qualifies as a pamphlet?
No moderator in Alternative Medicine in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Roger Cooper91 said:It’s funny how you claim mothers are to blame when babies—who aren't even vaccinated against measles yet—get exposed to infected people and die. You're pointing fingers at the moms for that... 🤦

And then you have the nerve to act like you aren't a threat. 👎

Can you actually connect the dots here? Why are those babies vulnerable in the first place? Why aren't their parents passing on that protection? You're looking for someone to blame in all the wrong places.

Roger Cooper91 said:Hey, mods, you really need to step up and look into this. These anti-vax trolls are out here flooding the feed with total garbage, claiming that only vaccinated people are getting sick during these "non-existent outbreaks." It’s pure fiction and flies right in the face of everything the CDC puts out. And then they have the nerve to act like it's just bad luck when babies die? Like, give me a break. Life's tough, but pretending these tragedies don't matter is just straight-up cold. 🤦

If you're talking about those little ones under a year old, they don't usually get shots—it all comes down to whatever immunity the mother passed down. And honestly? That maternal immunity has taken a massive hit ever since the MMR vaccine became the standard.
Look, I didn't say it was *only* the vaccinated getting sick, but let’s be real—there’s a massive chunk of them in this group right here. And those official numbers? They’ve been shifting like sand, at least in the states you're bringing up.

Roger Cooper91 said:Look, Jamie Rivera78, you’ve been digging your heels in forever claiming those outbreaks in Mexico, North Mexico, Ukraine, and all that—the ones with actual fatalities—just aren't happening.

Don't go digging your own grave here. Take a look at who's actually getting sick—look at how many healthy, unvaccinated kids are even catching this stuff. Then ask yourself why most of the cases are hitting adults and how much the whole vaccination push played into that.

urbangull90 said:First thing you do is prioritize the greater good. You gotta pacify—or honestly, just get rid of—those forum trolls who’re out here peddling advice that flies in the face of actual science. Whether they're being direct about it or just dropping subtle hints, if their "tips" are putting people's lives at risk? Yeah, better to clear them out. It's not even a big deal, really. Just common sense.

Like lemonzoo said—this vaccination thread doesn't belong on Alternative. Especially not when you look at the death tolls in neighboring countries. Honestly, anyone constantly blowing their own horn about how all vaccines are universally toxic, or pushing those "facts" that raw vegan diets can cure any kind of cancer, or claiming people have meter-long worms living inside them that doctors haven't even heard of... it's pure nonsense. People spreading that kind of mental diarrhea should be banned from the platform immediately. Period.

Look, this isn't some grand debate about free speech. Forget that. We’re talking about public health here. We're talking about the lives of terrified, desperate, borderline unhinged people—and what's even worse? The lives of their kids.

Stop the mandates before we end up burying kids from measles or some other preventable disease right here in America.

SF

This is basically the playbook for people who lose their minds every time an Alternative pops up. They just jump straight to the insults, acting like any kind of Alternative is some kind of disaster or a death sentence. And in their eyes? The rest of us are just mindless drones. These types are the ones who’d want to ban everything under the sun. Honestly, they live for dictatorships and have zero respect for actual freedom of speech. It’s pathetic.

Mark Cruz15 said:But hey, it’s actually kind of fun to read. We just need a moderator to step in and scrub the stuff that’s actually a public health hazard—you know, the total snake oil nonsense. Conspiracy theories and other brain-rot? Whatever. You can agree or disagree, but those things aren't going to kill anyone.

P.S., I don't even get why the Vaccination thread is sitting in this subforum. There isn't even any talk about an Alternative there; it's just a loop of unverified paranoia, money lobbying, Big Pharma... you name it. Honestly, looking at the junk being posted, we should just shut the whole thing down. Let American forums take a stand against this growing anti-vax madness.
https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-s...detail/measles

Look, we all know that over on the Medicine board, they have zero tolerance for Alternative views. If you stray off script, you get slapped down immediately. We should apply that same logic here to the Alternative board. This is the spot for outside perspectives; everything else should be shoved into different subforums. That would end the constant bickering. Besides, the rules for Alternative already lay out crystal clear instructions for anyone actually paying attention to what's being said here.
The crowd constantly trying to block every single post doesn't seem to grasp that there is NO equal sign between Alternative medicine and Natural Science. An Alternative is just a different viewpoint or a different path that—for a million reasons—is sometimes years ahead of mainstream science, often offering way better solutions than what official science currently serves up. Unfortunately, corruption in the scientific community is getting harder to ignore, and that’s exactly why Alternative options matter. The public needs to see every choice on the table; hiding data has never helped anyone.
As for vaccinations, even top leaders in the American healthcare system are pointing out that we should scrap mandatory shots and move toward a recommendation-based system. There's plenty of info out there showing vaccines can carry real risks, and staying silent about that isn't doing anyone favors. At the end of the day, people should weigh all the opinions and make their own call on what's best for them or their kids. Most developed countries already operate that way anyway.
Regarding the fighting and the trash posts, it’s pretty obvious that most of the drama is stirred up by self-proclaimed "experts" acting like they're saving everyone's lives. Their go-to mantra is that nothing exists or should ever be used unless it's been backed by ten different studies spanning twenty years. History shows that's no guarantee of success, and while they wait, people lose precious time. I’ll say it without holding back: today, Alternative approaches can often help far more than traditional medicine. That’s exactly why I think the Alternative board should be left to the Alternative folks. If someone wants to read, they'll read; if not, they won't. Purposefully trolling and blocking threads is just rude and accomplishes nothing. If anything, it just makes mainstream medicine look less credible.

Gardasil: HPV vaccine info and discussion in Women's Health ·
Look, there’s already research coming out of places like Australia, the UK, Norway, and Sweden showing that getting Gardasil actually spikes cervical cancer rates. We're talking a massive jump—around 100% for the 15-to-24 demographic. It used to be that this kind of thing was super rare in young women, but now? Not so much. Meanwhile, the numbers for the unvaccinated crowd have been steadily dropping for years.
Right now, they’re handing this vaccine out for free to every single high schooler. I honestly don't see the point if the cancer risk is climbing like this.
