Hey, can you send me that unmoderated forum link?

Let’s give this a shot! ovo.
Honestly, that opening post was leagues ahead of yours, and the way you kept tying everything back to the main point in this thread? Classic you. You always have a knack for those connections.

Henry Hernandez7 said:I'm trying to dig through the thread to find some links, but I'm coming up empty. Sam Green73, where did they go?

Man, how should I know? 😕

They’d probably be a lot easier to track down if there was actually a solid explanation attached to them.

Maybe now you're starting to see why we bother with moderation.
Discussions spiral out of control and become a total mess to navigate.
Trust me, you don't want to see what this place would look like if we didn't clean things up every now and then.

Otherwise, if you're really that desperate, I can point you toward some unmoderated corner of the internet where you can enjoy the chaos.

Both of them follow the subforum rules perfectly.

Yeah, that’s exactly right—those are two different examples, but they both point back to the same link.

It doesn't break any advertising rules, and it doesn't violate any copyrights.

Sam Green73 said:Any links posted in a discussion need to actually make sense and include an explanation.
You can't just expect everyone else to click on random links blindly.

Well, you've come to the right place to vent or ask for help.

While you're hanging out waiting for a reply, why not brush up on your reading?

Henry Hernandez7 said:Who’s being subjective here, and who’s actually being objective?

Let's be real: everyone is subjective.
Just because you find a few people who agree with you doesn't mean you've stumbled upon some universal truth.
Honestly, you'd be doing me—and the rest of us—a huge favor if you'd take a moment to read through the netiquette#forums guidelines and actually start following them.

When you drop links in a discussion, they really need to have context and a little explanation attached to them.
Don't just expect people to blindly click on everything you post without knowing what they're getting into.

So, are you trying to tell me that this is basically
Henry Hernandez7 said:So, what you're saying is the moderator is basically a walking God, and there's absolutely no way they could ever be wrong?

Which is just like
Henry Hernandez7 said:I'm asking—is being right a prerequisite for everything here?

Come on, please, just tell me what you actually consider to be a high-quality discussion or a meaningful contribution to a thread.

p.s. You've got plenty of time to think about it; I doubt I'll be back to this debate for the rest of the day. I've got a mountain of work to tackle and some errands to run.

😕
To be totally honest, I’m having a hard time figuring out how you arrived at that conclusion based on what I actually wrote.

Let me ask you a rhetorical question: Did you maybe take a quick second to actually read the link I sent over?
And just so we're clear, when I say "rhetorical," I don't actually need an answer—it's more of a gentle nudge in case the answer happens to be "no."

Henry Hernandez7 said:1. Why is Resonator censoring this thread and deleting posts just because they don't agree with him?

1. I delete messages that don't add anything useful to the conversation—just take a second to read the rules on the Forum 🙂

2. My take is that the Forum doesn't allow turning anonymous polls into public ones, probably because some people might have voted under the assumption that their choice stayed private.
Why are you so obsessed with making this poll public?
Are you absolutely certain you haven't checked to see who actually voted against it?

My PMbox is totally stuffed, and honestly, most of the messages I get are so friendly that it’s actually kind of hard for me to hit delete.
When it comes to discussing moderation criteria, I much prefer having an open, public discussion.
Asking a question isn't the same thing as making an equivalence.
bluemason3 said:I just don't see how that connects to hate speech, or even to looking at the psychological, biological, or social mechanisms behind a phenomenon by comparing them.

I’ve actually bolded the word **can** here—it's a possibility, not a certainty.
Of course, interpretation is all about context, and science itself isn't inherently stripped of hate speech.
To be clear, I haven't seen any controversial posts yet, so I'm not claiming they contain hate speech, nor am I saying they don't.
From what I've observed, a big part of the hate speech directed at gay men involves conflating being gay with being a pedophile.

As it stands, addiction itself isn't illegal.
bluemason3 said:So, basically, I’m not allowed to argue that a dominant partner in a BDSM relationship—where they're roleplaying a scenario to satisfy specific kinks or fantasies—might actually share psychological traits with a criminal rapist, even if it isn't actual rape and doesn't break any laws, because saying that counts as hate speech?

How on earth did you jump from what I originally said to this specific point?
Maybe?
A legal sexual preference = roleplaying in sex
Something legally and socially unacceptable = rape

If you think they're the same thing, then you completely missed my point.
If you don't, then I'd love to hear your reasoning.
bluemason3 said:Honestly, this sounds like it could be legally classified as unlawful equalization.

Trying to equate a legal human preference with something that is fundamentally rejected by our laws and cultural standards could easily be interpreted as hate speech.

Just so we’re on the same page, off-topic chatter and casual watercooler talk usually get cleared out from the forum.

Look, I don't typically go around archiving every single little off-topic thread before they get wiped, but if you're really going to insist on sending me a DM for every one of your posts, I might be willing to work with you on that.

It seems like you aren't too fond of reading through the fine print, so let me save you some time and point you in the right direction.
Once you hit the 100, 200, 300, or 400 point mark, you'll face a three-day suspension. If you hit 500, 600, 700, 800, or 900 points, that jumps to a seven-day suspension, and once you cross that 1,000-point threshold, it's a permanent ban.

If you find yourself being hounded across different threads, just go ahead and file a report right here with all the links included.
Honestly, in some discussions, it’s usually better to just tune out the noise and ignore people when they're acting irrational.

Joe Biden will be attending a traditional reception organized by the Mexican National Council today to celebrate Orthodox Christmas, alongside the Prime Minister, Joe Biden, and New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

The Mexican National Council will also be handing out awards there for contributions to the development of Mexican institutions, humanitarian efforts, anti-fascism and for improving relations between Americans...

So, the Mexican National Council is handing out these awards for anti-fascism, which is interesting... but honestly, I can't quite wrap my head around the logic behind it all. It almost makes it seem like the Mexicans living here, or this specific organization, are somehow the officially licensed champions of anti-fascism in America, if that makes sense... and I really do wonder who actually ends up receiving these honors. For instance, why wouldn't this council consider giving an award to the United States Armed Forces, considering how much they fought against Mexican fascism back in the 90s? I highly doubt we'll ever see that happen... It just seems a bit absurd how many people try to wrap themselves in the mantle of anti-fascism these days.

You’re absolutely spot on there.
I mean, where on earth did they get the bright idea that they could just hand out trophies for humanism?
🙄What makes them even remotely qualified to judge what counts as humanism?
Do they have some sort of official certification to recognize humanism or something?

And who all is walking around acting like they’re the champions of humanism these days? 😕

Look at Alfred Nobel—he invented dynamite, sure, but he was actually qualified to establish a prize for Peace.
But the Mexican National Council and "humanism"? That’s a different story entirely. 🙂

Am I being a bit dramatic here?
Maybe. People hold certain values close to their hearts and want to encourage them.
That’s why groups hand out awards for those things.
So, what's stopping you from starting your own little award ceremony for anti-fascism?
Go ahead, give your very first anti-fascism award to the US Army.

bluerider63 said:With the whole damn democratic and capitalist system hitting a wall like it is right now, you've basically got the perfect breeding ground for all sorts of far-right extremist groups to start popping up everywhere.

Are you trying to suggest that left-wing extremist groups don't emerge regardless of the circumstances, or that they just don't exist at all?
Or maybe you're implying that people on the left can't be nationalists?

Look, I totally agree with you that crises are prime time for extremist organizations to gain traction.

But please, let's not turn this whole discussion into a mindless shouting match between the left and the right.
It’s honestly exhausting to argue using buzzwords where everyone seems to have a completely different definition, scope, or meaning for what they're actually saying.

Do you have that draft of yours ready to go?
If you’ve got it, just jump into one of the active threads and post it there.
If you haven't finished it yet, don't sweat it—you'll get a copy soon enough.

Just a quick heads-up: please don't start a whole new thread just to make sure your post sits at the very top of an existing conversation. Let's keep things organized!

SUGGESTION: Politics PDF - News outlets in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Basically, we just need one dedicated thread where people can drop in news updates whenever they pop up.
As far as I'm concerned, we could host a thread like that under "close political aide."

To be honest, the way you're framing this feels a little bit like you're running an ad for a competitor.
