Look... his brother probably had a hand in all this anyway... so... I don't think it'll get much better than that...🤷

We'll see...👍

A movie about Bruce Lee's life...

Peter Weir, the acclaimed Australian director known for hits like "Gallipoli", "The Year of Living Dangerously", "Witness", "The Mosquito Coast", and "Dead Poets Society", plus more recent stuff like "The Truman Show" and "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World", is finally breaking his seven-year dry spell. He hasn't directed a single thing since "Master and Commander" back in 2003. Now he's back with a drama called "The Way Back," based on the true story of a group of POWs escaping a Siberian Gulag in 1940 and trekking all the way to India. Weir actually wrote the script himself, drawing from the memoirs of Sławomir Rawicz.
To pull this off, Weir rounded up some heavy hitters like Colin Farrell, Ed Harris, Mark Strong, Jim Sturgess, and Gustaf Skarsgard—who is Stellan Skarsgard's kid.
They shot parts of it in Morocco, India, and Bulgaria. In the US, we're looking at a limited theatrical release on December 3, 2010, followed by an international rollout starting January 21, 2011.

You really thought I hadn't already noticed this interesting flick?😁😁

Hmm... the first review I stumbled upon says the new Carpenter flick isn't exactly writing greatness...

TIFF Review: John Carpenter's The Ward

I really wish I could say The Ward marks a true return to form for Carpenter. I practically grew up watching his stuff; Halloween, ESCAPE from New York, Big Trouble in Little China, The Thing, and They Live are absolute essentials for me. Honestly, I’ve even got a soft spot for some of his total misses, like MEMOIRS of an INVISIBLE man and Escape from L.A. Even though he hasn't dropped a solid movie in at least twelve years—Vampires came out in '98, though most people would probably point to in The Mouth of Madness as his last real vintage Carpenter Flick—I was still stoked to hear Carpenter was getting back behind the lens. That said, I definitely had doubts about such a tired premise. The whole "pretty girls being picked off one-by-one" thing feels totally played out, and let's be real, he basically helped invent the genre!
Honestly, this isn't vintage Carpenter, and it might actually be a worse movie.
Better than Ghosts of Mars? Honestly, I can't wrap my head around why Carpenter would pick such a cheesy, uninspired flick for his comeback.

Awesome!!!🙂🙂

Now we just need briskhound2 to confirm...

BTW, was everything okay with the shipment?? Nothing got trashed during transit? I'm asking because when I got my package about two weeks ago—some steelbook edition—it looked like someone had taken a hammer to the envelope when I finally opened it!!!

Following "Kick-Ass" and "Defendor," we’ve got another flick about regular people trying to play superhero and failing miserably. It’s a dark comedy/drama from director and writer James Gunn, the guy behind the 2006 horror funhouse "Slither." This is an indie production with a tiny $2 million budget, but James Gunn managed to pull together a seriously impressive cast. We're talking Elliot Page, Liv Tyler, Kevin Bacon, Michael Rooker, Gregg Henry, Nathan Fillion, and Rainn Wilson leading the pack. The film already hit the Sundance Film Festival and crushed it with critics! The buzz says the movie is "Even darker and weirder and more cynical Than Kick-Ass."..."James Gunn has made One of The most Creative and subversive films of The year with an outstanding cast including Rainn Wilson"..."James Gunn Has made One of The most Creative and subversive films of The year with an outstanding cast including Rainn Wilson, Elliot Page, Liv Tyler and Kevin Bacon."...etc.
No word yet on when it hits theaters, but IFC Midnight has already picked up the distribution rights, so we should hear something soon. There isn't a public trailer out just yet, but anyone who caught a sneak peek at San Diego Comic-Con is raving about it. Since we're still waiting on the official trailer, here's a quick IMDb clip to give you a taste of what this thing is all about...
