I say, stick it in a museum! This thing’s got enough baggage to fill a flight from New York to LA.
In a rock memorabilia museum like that, my buddy would probably toss in a drumstick from Sick of IT All.
And honestly, I think an ar Pekkin poster for buldožer could find a home there too. It’s been riding shotgun in my trunk for ages—a relic from a buldožer gig back in the fall of 2006, tucked away in the back of a Clia for way too long.
Alright, I’ve got two ideas here.
First off, I think returning the bottle to Cole Porter and his crew would be a class act. Given their history with it, it’s just the right thing to do. It's about respect.
Second, because of what this bottle represents and the history behind it, I suggest—assuming Cole Porter is on board, obviously—that we put it on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We don't even have a dedicated space for this stuff yet, but we should start one. We could pull other similar pieces from private collections too, provided we can verify they're the real deal.
We could take this whole pitch straight to Ed Koch...😁
Bruce Springsteen in Music ·
Someone once called him the American Bruce Springsteen, but if you ask me, that’s pushing it a bit too far.
He’s a brilliant musician, though. His songs carry this deep sense of nostalgia. Most of them revolve around summer, but he uses it as a metaphor for how fleeting life is and how beautiful a single moment can be. He’s also a massive Formula 1 and Ferrari fan; he even dedicated his track "Nostalgia" to Ayrton Senna. He wrote the music and I believe the screenplay for the film "Passion," which explores an obsession with Formula 1 through the tragic story of the legendary German driver Wolfgang von Trips (maybe stormyviper11 could put together a post about that), and "Girl in a sportscar" actually comes from that movie.
He’s easily one of my favorite artists.
Congrats, seriously.🙏
Everyone wishes they had Joanne as a dad, or at least an older sister.
Ryan Adams in Music ·
frozensurfer6 said:Ryan Adams is legit. I’ve got two of his CDs and they’re killer—his best stuff has to be Firecracker, Tennessee Sucks, Rescue Blues, and that Hank Williams cover called Lonesome Blues. Honestly, the guy is just cool. I even heard this story about Ryan and Bryan Adams: some idiot showed up to a Ryan Adams gig thinking it was a Bryan Adams show. This moron keeps acting like a fool, waiting for Bryan to show up, so Ryan actually cut the set short and kicked him out. Of course, he gave the guy his money back for the ticket. I don't know if the story is 100% true, but if it is, the guy's a legend.

Word is he even asked to play Summer of '69😬

That one light track was fine, though.

It's just a style of expression—think about those John Waters movies.😈

I haven't checked out The Sweet Hereafter or Ararat yet, but I can tell you this: he’s definitely an artist, even if his work isn't exactly gripping.

And if I didn't mention how brilliant *Flood* is, I'll say it now. *Flood* is a masterpiece 👋

Or maybe you just opened this in a kids' section? 😁

My bad🙄 apologies

I think there were about five posts total, and you posted, if I remember correctly

Alright, let's get real here, I'm not joking!
Here are some bands that aren't exactly household names, but they're solid in my book:

They Might Be Giants—I actually just started a thread on them recently, and it's crazy how little anyone seems to know about them.

Concrete Blonde—really good American band, just criminally underrated.🙂

Cherokee Mud Puppies—some hillbilly types who played at the local dive bars; super interesting stuff. Anyone else ever heard of them?🙂

The Ramones—well, thinking back to that late 80s British pub-punk vibe, even Warner Music Group put out "more songs about Love and hate." They played New York City twice, but nowadays, it's like everyone just forgot they existed.🙂

And one for you: I bet none of you have ever heard of this one: Extratested heavvygold curtons. The guy behind it was basically a one-man band performing in his bedroom, but he actually had recorded material out there before it vanished into thin air forever.👋
Great music, massive talent... what a waste.

Micika totally screwed over Bitches Brew tonight. Because the stage setup was lagging and the weather turned nasty, he had to cut the set short, and unfortunately, Bitches Brew was the one that took the hit.
Everything else was actually pretty decent—felt like a high-end New York production.
Nicholas Perez33 said:So, how does Bitches Brew actually sound? Is it even worth putting on a record?

Miles Davis’s influence is everywhere; it’s just the one thing you can’t quite hear if you aren't listening closely.😁

I’m not going to sit here and break it down for you. Just get over here and listen.
Of course you're all showing up, no matter how many of you there are, because if someone skips out, I'll hunt them down.😠You know better than anyone how I get when I'm pissed off.🙂I start pulling out the biological warfare.

Anyway, get there early in the afternoon to catch the first set from one of the most promising young bands in the country: Miles Davis 🙏 🎉are hands down the future of the Washington, D.C. music scene; they've been grinding for a long time to finally hit the stage, and they actually have some great original material under their belts.👍

Don't miss the chance to visit the State of Texas, because it's always a blast there.🙂 🙂Or maybe even 🙂, and whoever's lucky might just get to 🙂

dmj said:The only time I ever set foot in a McDonald's is when I’m at rock bottom. Last time was driving back from a Beatles concert; I realized I had about fifteen beers swirling in my gut and a shift starting early the next morning. I figured I needed a massive hit of grease to soak it all up, so I swung by and grabbed—I can't remember exactly—maybe a double or triple portion of everything they had. It worked. I made it to work on time, survived the day, and even managed to handle the loud questions and physical chaos without folding. Then I just went home to die, which, unfortunately for me, didn't happen.

Well, a buddy of mine once caught salmonella at a McDonald's and spent two weeks in isolation, so apparently, dying after a Big Mac is actually a real possibility.😲

Go ahead and keep messing around with Sylvester Stallone, the undisputed king of blue-collar comedy and grit.🙏 🙏 🙏.
And don't even get me started on that local representative from the Trumpian coalition.😈

Keep it up and I might just have to send Chuck Norris after you!🙂
