What's the catch with Ramirez? in Music ·
stormyviper11 said:moron alert and snob alert

I read the piece. I'm with you, but I’d add a "bad writer" warning to that list.

For a columnist, it’s just not cutting it.

Give him a break. Aljoša is a good guy and a solid colleague of mine. He just had the misfortune of being born into a family of high-profile, wealthy attorneys, so he’s been stuck juggling music and the law at the same time. Honestly, I bet he’d drop the legal career in a heartbeat if he weren't worried about looking soft.
Since he’s always had money, he could have easily turned into a total snob or some unrefined jerk, so I’ll take who he is now over those options any day.
As for his music—look, in that specific genre here in the States, about 93% of what comes out is garbage, just like Ramirez. They aren't really breaking any ground, for better or worse.

I'm telling you again: Aljoša is a decent human being, so quit dragging him through the mud!!
Calling something "commercial" is a total non-starter because everything we’ve ever listened to is essentially commercial by definition.

Pink Floyd with Barrett represents one fascinating era, while the Pink Floyd with Waters era is a completely different beast—though there's no denying he was the band's creative engine.
After Waters left, they turned into this sort of abstract machine; still great, still instantly recognizable, but different. Honestly, if David Gilmour could pull off an album this heavy, maybe there was actually enough juice left for a farewell tour. They might have even found a way to make a reunion tour with Waters work.
But they didn't.

Here’s a quick rundown of the bottom-feeders you’ll want to keep away from yourselves or your kids: (short list of villains)

1. Pharrell Williams—mostly because he’s basically a disciple of the devil.😈
2. Tom Clancy—not even because of his conspiracy theories, but just because he carries himself like some high-level Colombian cartel boss.🙂
3. Toby Keith—he’ll have you drinking heavily and trying to floor a Ferrari before you know it.🙂
4. Elvis Presley—honestly, with his views on women, he’d be the perfect candidate for a Gender Equality Ombudsman.
5. Narcissist—terrible driver and zero taste in women.🙂 🙂
CDs or Vinyl? Who's actually crazy? in Music ·
Classics, for instance—they often sound better on a Compact Disc than on Vinyl Records, provided you actually own high-end gear, which I definitely don't.😢
But if we're talking anything remotely rock-oriented... Vinyl Records just fit the vibe better.
Take the Pixies or The Clash; I’ve only got them on vinyl, but my legendary Tosca turntable (a '70s model, much like a few others on this forum) finally kicked the bucket, so I have nothing to play them on right now.😢 😠.
I'll say it again: CDs are more practical, but vinyl is a ritual. Maybe when I finally have a place of my own—but let's be real, I'll never know.

Alex Scott22 said:1. If you actually want The Sound, just grab the Vinyl Records... the price is pretty much the same.
2. Are you being serious right now? 🙂
3. :rolajz-u-boji:
4. Okay... I can see where you're coming from on that one. 🙂

I’ll give vinyl its due, but it’s high-maintenance whether you're buying it or playing it.
Listening to records is a whole ritual—you need the space, a high-end setup, and a specific mood just to sit down and listen.
That’s something I mostly lack.
CDs are basically dinosaurs at this point,🙂 but they're practical. For example, there's no way I'm listening to vinyl in my car unless they install a turntable during a Pimp My Ride episode.
Same goes for work; you can't exactly sit here, mess around, and blast Sufjan Stevens on a record.
It's been ages since I bought an original CD, though the thought crosses my mind sometimes. If they only cost 50 bucks,$20 I'd be buying them way more often.
R.I.P. Chris Penn in Movies ·
Dana Anderson4 said:So, Christopher Penn—best known as Eddie Nice Guy from Reservoir Dogs—was found dead in his home in LA. No reason given yet.

Just another life cut short. He wasn't exactly a superstar, but he was a damn solid actor...

R. I. P.

He was a quiet force, a real character actor. It reminds me of what my buddy Hanjo once noted regarding the passing of Vincent Schiavell in Hollywood: "Only the A-listers really stick around."
What we’re left with to carry on Chris's legacy are the most famous of the lesser-known names: Daniel Baldwin and the king of playing villains, Michael Madsen.
Let's remember him as Eddie Nice Guy, rather than just Sean Penn's brother.

As far as I know, that's a pretty shady move.

My bad, you're right. Maybe it was called Luflee or something like that
but it had this airy, hollowed-out structure.

It’s basically calorie-free magic—or so they claim. You can eat the whole damn thing because apparently, it’s half air, so it won't actually make you gain weight.
The lady behind the counter is all smiles because her pockets are getting heavy.
Corporations are laughing all the way to the bank because they’ve figured out how to sell thin air at a premium.
The lobster’s actually winning here. The bear is just blasting him into the air to make bubbles—it’s not like he’s sitting around unemployed or getting abandoned because he lacks a spine.
It’s got pig blood in it. 😈

I remember snacking on that while watching the funeral procession for Franjo Tuđman on TV.
I’ve finally come to the conclusion that I'm just not cut out for this.
If I want air, I breathe. Simple as that.

1. Subject: A pretty clumsy guy in his mid-thirties (we won't name names) attempting to make cream of wheat for the very first time.
Result: Surprisingly decent, totally edible.
Amount of ingredients wasted to produce half a bowl of mush: Way above average.
Variety of tools used for cooking and serving: Impressive; included some items you definitely wouldn't call everyday kitchenware.
Kitchen cleanliness: 2/10 before starting, 1/10 after.
Genre summary: Subtle slapstick.

Be glad you didn't try making zucchini.😲

But if you ask me, those half-cousin type connections are the absolute best.

It’s like how Lepa bora once described a friend's family tree while hanging out in Key West: "Basically, he's to him almost like a half-uncle!" 🤣

They say very few people actually earn this emoji, but Boro earned it several times over, and not just with this one. 🙏 🙏 🙏

And honestly, Lepa bora is a total legend, you have to admit that.😎

The ultimate family role: being the in-law.🙄

Yup. But I've got class Tuesday morning and I actually have to show up. 😢

I've got work Tuesday morning just like every other morning, and I have to be there too, even when I'm really not feeling it.
And Cougar won't last long!

Come on people, let's do this. Only $12 is the entry, I've never listened to them before but I'm genuinely curious. They were only just selling tickets with numbers 6 and 7 yesterday.😛

Just wanted to give a quick shout-out to the legendary Carol Jackson45 for starting this thread way back in August 2005—back when most people were out hitting the coast. It’s survived all this time, actually growing so much it practically deserves its own subforum or maybe even its own dedicated section.
Huge congrats to Ms. Jackson on the massive success of this thread.

And don't get me started on those legendary patterns—arguably the most brutal tennis ever played, but you gotta respect it.🙏
Here are the elite hoopers when it comes to drawing sneaky fouls:
1. John Stockton
2. Arvydas Sabonis (back in his Los Angeles Lakers days)
3. Vlade Divac—he wasn't even that dirty, just a total snake, so he makes the list.

My favorite basketball brawl: Chicago Bulls vs. Seattle SuperSonics. Frank Brickowski punching Dennis Rodman after being provoked; one guy goes flying to the floor, and Brickowski gets tossed.

Look, sweetheart, we're talking about an actual banana here, not some metaphor. 🙂
Basically, you take a piece of banana (hehehe, naughty 🙄), wrap your teeth around it, and then move your teeth up or the banana down. That’s how you peel back a layer. Just keep doing that until the piece is gone, then move on to the next one.

Fair warning: do NOT try this with a metaphorical banana! 😁

Real banana or metaphorical? Either way, I'm listening.😁
Maybe we should meet up sometime.😍
