Not at all. Honestly, I have a deep respect for your knack for being completely unrefined. And hey, let’s not start throwing punches just yet.
What's the issue with Dimmu Borgir?
I actually find them pretty easy to listen to.

Anything less just falls into the "miscellaneous" category.

Total bullshit.
By that logic, I’d be stuck in "miscellaneous" too (probably some degenerate lesbian type), even though lately I’ve been swimming like an absolute beast and staying lean as hell.

Michael Newman50 said:I don't care about the whole anti-Christmas thing; if it could just pass by quietly and unnoticed, like how Easter rolls through a city like Chicago or some chill Fil Collins concert, that would be fine. But Christmas is an aggressor. New Year's is even worse...😢

Exactly. Holidays plus anti-holidays equals way too much noise.
I wish it could all just pass by without the headache.
Once people start setting off firecrackers outside, I start feeling like Turet.

Have you guys seen that top list of black metal photos? Yeah, I saw it.
My buddy Šved sent it to me this morning—he's a total poser, a real fringe metalhead.
The list looks a lot like something those American indie snobs over at Pitchfork would put out.

If I were allowed to post photos here, Vrangsinan's ass (from Carpathian Forest) would be right here, with "sodomized by Satan" written across it.

The caption goes...

"Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit! Vrangsinn got back! If you’ve seen these guys live, you’d know they are totally tongue-in-cheek, (Vrangsinn saunters around the stage in a pair of black speedos) but I never expected to actually see the cheeks! My freaking eyes! That is the flabbiest, cottage-cheesiest abomination of the flesh I have ever witnessed. It looks like a giant slab of weathered and pitted marble. only Satan himself knows What foul contents have been purged fra those unholy haunches, especially after a night of drinking cheap beer. Rad! And what The Hell could Natte possibly be doing? Taking core samples?"

Black metal party—well, they're alright sometimes. But honestly, I'm a bit of a coward; I'd rather stick to the old "stay home and read books" vibe. I've always had a soft spot for Gothic literature, what can I say? So, if anyone has that Black metal book about vile Norway that I could borrow... "Choosing Death" was a bit too lukewarm, though still occasionally amusing—like that part where Napalm Death steals records in Japan.

Alex Rogers91 said:Fear 🙏 ALLAH and His servants, those dark, twisted followers of His will.

He’s alive, and he’s feeling powerful again.
I’m close with Allah, and He keeps calling me back to Damascus to work for Him.
But honestly, I prefer His barefoot, burly, sweaty servants.
Take, for instance, some laborer from a humid, steamy Turkish bathhouse—that kind of guy would be perfect to attend to me. He’d need thick, hairy forearms and heavy, butcher-like fingers to really dig in and work out all this muscle tension I get from typing. Only then could I finally surrender myself to the hands of Allah’s handmaidens, who move with their hips and bellies.
And while they dance, Devendra sings.

Things really start getting out of hand once stormyviper11 and coastalpanther11 start lighting up the forum. That’s when the real madness begins.
Even Djihad (in his softest version yet) isn't half bad; he’s actually gotten a bit more mellow since he moved back from America to that chaotic mess of a JetBlue.

😁

Morrissey = center forward.
Fact.

Sometimes this forum actually feels therapeutic.

I didn't catch that second sentence. It's Friday, man—slow down, or start using emojis if you have to...

Fair enough, I'm being a dummy. You're reading pretty sharp for a Friday—it's all "wild wild life" at this point.
I'll give you "Naked," "True stories," whatever else comes after Little Cross.
I seriously need a vacation, ASAP.

I guess I still need to practice "speaking in tongues."

David Sullivan4 said:I’m telling you right now, the turnout at the Lakers and Spurs game tonight is going to be pretty pathetic compared to what we usually see.

You’re really talking out of turn.
I’m not even going to touch that absolute dumpster fire of a situation with a ten-foot pole. It’s like trying to navigate a minefield while wearing blindfolds—one wrong move and everything blows up in your face. Apparently, we’re all just supposed to sit here and pretend that this nonsense is some kind of ironclad rule we have to live by. Give me a break.
I’m going to be hitting the gym hard to work on my biceps, just so I can call him out to a public arm wrestling match next time.
I’m just not the type of person who plays well with irony. It’s not really my style.

Slayer’s *Reign in Blood* is basically the gold standard for thrash metal. It doesn't waste a single second. Most bands try to pad out their albums with filler tracks to hit that forty-minute mark, but Slayer just delivers pure, concentrated aggression from start to finish. It’s like watching a perfectly executed high-speed chase through downtown Chicago—no unnecessary detours, just relentless momentum and intensity. You can't look away, and you certainly can't slow down. It remains one of those rare records where every single note feels intentional and necessary.
The feminine urge to seek out pure agony—just so I can prove I can endure it with stoic indifference.
3. The poison concept—embrace the void.
4. G.G. Allin + Antiseen — as long as I don't have to deal with the stench of trash and piss.
5. The downside of this mindset.
6. Rollins Band - I just want to trigger muscle growth.

I’m really craving something dark and metallic right now, if you know what I mean, Susan Clark10.

Honestly, I’m just glad stormyviper11 isn't into any of this cool stuff.
If everyone on this forum had such hardcore punk or metal tastes, this place would look completely different.

On another note, I'm giving a massive thousand points of credit because he hasn't even heard of Slint.

1. "sub pop rock city" (B-sides) - DIY project by that one goth girl in my class, M. (shout out to her!)

2. "mel's goat-legged diablo guapo" medley (B-sides) - also a DIY job by M., the resident goth

3. Dinosaur Jr. Smiley (honestly, ugh!) - picked this up at prom in Los Angeles (along with that 12-inch "where the hell am I going?"), ended up hating my own taste so much I just gave the shirt to a Swede

4. Bad Livers "Flying Cornbread" (belly) / "Corn Fed Inbred Brain Dead" (B-sides)

5. Currently working on number five

Kevin Chavez3 said:Man, you really nailed it.

Look, Kevin Chavez3, you’re just missing the point. We’re still living in the punk era defined by Crass, yet you're still stuck acting like you're part of Exploited.

I should probably just start practicing some positive thinking and spreading good vibes instead. I’m sure Jimmy would get it. Maybe it's time I hang up this post-punk persona for good and go join the hippies.

Just one more thing before I head out and shut this thread down.
I really don't want anyone overlooking the role Amy the warmers Farina plays on percussion.
In my view, when Ian MacKaye says "Blessed not Lucky," he's talking about how essential it is for an "even" rhythm section to be just as vital to the sound.
This entire post is dedicated to Amy.

I'm being told I have to watch what I say, so I'll just leave this here: after a long hiatus, I finally "sang along" (with absolutely zero musical talent, obviously) to a punk rock chorus led by Mackaye's father while sitting down—strictly following all the rules of his Church. I even grabbed a vegetarian falafel for lunch (though I did wash it down with an AFL-CIO beer)... and spent the rest of the day cruising in my indie rock Ford, blasting Naked Raygun and The Bomb. Woah-oh-oh!
