Jonathan Patel42 said:... Honestly, my due date is creeping up on me, and I am feeling absolutely frantic—I mean, can you blame me? I’m just a nervous wreck at this point. So, get this: yesterday, while I was in the shower, our little girl kept telling her dad how much the little tags on her underwear were bothering her. And because he’s such a "helpful"
dad and husband, he decided to take matters into his own hands. He went ahead and snipped every single tag off every pair of panties in her drawer with a pair of scissors. How did I find out? Well, it was sweltering hot, and she accidentally spilled something on herself, so he grabbed her a different pair to change into—only to realize they had these massive holes right in the back! When I asked him what on earth happened, he just looked at me with total composure and said, "Well, maybe it's because I cut all the tags out since they were bothering her?" I was stunned. Seriously, what was he thinking? He completely ruined ten pairs of clothes

...And then there’s this other ridiculous thing that happened just this morning. Yesterday was one of those days where everything was chaotic; we had a house full of people over, and I was just too exhausted to even think about mopping the floors. There was stuff everywhere—Play-Doh, spilled snacks, muddy footprints from everyone walking through... and then my "brilliant" husband decides he needs to tinker with the baby's crib. All those things I had carefully prepared, ironed, and organized so perfectly? He just dumped them all right onto the floor and scattered them everywhere... as if he couldn't have just placed them on the dresser or the table literally fifty centimeters away
I truly believe certain ideas only cross a man's mind........................... and I honestly don't even know what to say to him

Like, should he just mop them himself?
People leaving comments like, "Wow, look at that belly!!!??!!!"... Seriously, what am I even supposed to say to that? Give me a break! Honestly, maybe I should just head straight to a weight loss clinic right now so I can finally meet your ridiculous standards...🙂
Zachary Gomez said:Actually, I’m also seeing a private doctor for my pregnancy. That's how I started, though I end up bouncing around everywhere—between Denmark and the US, using fertility specialists, private doctors, and even socialized medicine. For certain things, I still have to go through my insurance provider (for referrals and such), so I actually opened a file with them as well just in case. Generally, if you have a specialized referral, you get seen immediately... like when I went in for blood sugar testing or a Combos test at Mayo Clinic...

The worst part was dealing with a substitute social worker who was in such a rush to go on break with her sister that she barely examined me and then handed me an incomplete referral...

So far, I’ve done every single test without needing any official referrals—my public OBGYN hasn't even seen me yet, let alone knows I'm pregnant!😁 I assume I’ll eventually have to check in with them at some point because of hospital protocols (I'm guessing you need a referral for that, right? 😕), but until then—everything is strictly private. All the tests, blood type, thyroid stuff... I'm actually heading in this Monday for my glucose test. There is just no way I'm spending my time dragging myself from one clinic to another; I managed to get everything done all in one convenient spot!
Zachary Gomez said:I ended up waiting in Cleveland for 45 minutes today just to get my blood drawn! And I actually stood the whole time... This isn't typical, since pregnant women, kids, and people with disabilities are supposed to have priority. It was crowded, obviously; an elderly woman even asked me twice if I wanted to sit down, but I declined. To be honest, I wasn't feeling too bad yet, even though I'm entering my seventh month, and seeing how poorly she felt made me think I could just tough it out... Plus, it’s the principle of the thing. They didn't call me back to the clinic like they did for another pregnant woman after only five or ten minutes, simply because I didn't explicitly announce my pregnancy—you can't see it from behind the counter. I was naive enough to assume there would be a special code on my referral, but apparently, that only happens when OBGYNs send it over, not through a general practitioner. Whatever, let them do it their way... 🙂

Honestly, it’s exactly this kind of stuff that keeps me from ever stepping foot in public hospitals or clinics... I just did all my testing at a private clinic just three minutes from my apartment—results were ready the same day, zero waiting, zero standing around, and zero irritation. I don't care how much it costs; nothing is worth the headache (and let me tell you, I know myself—I have a seriously short fuse!). One time at the local Post Office, after getting my shots, the guy there had the nerve to snap at me about how I'd "pushed through it," and I was shaking with rage for half the day... yeah, I am definitely skipping that stress in the future.😠
mellowranger16 said:Let’s be real here—being four or five months along isn't exactly an endurance test when it comes to standing up. But once you hit that ninth month, with your legs swelling and that heavy, constant pressure in your gut, every single second spent on your feet feels like a countdown to a breakdown. It creates this restless, uncomfortable tension where I honestly feel like if they don't let me sit down soon, I’m just going to walk out. I mean, seriously, it's not physically possible.

I'm not sure where you're getting that from, but for me (I'm in my 4th month), standing is definitely a struggle! Honestly, I've always had trouble staying on my feet because my blood pressure runs low—but now? It feels like it's practically zero, especially if it gets hot or if there isn't enough airflow in the room. So, yeah... I wouldn't exactly want to risk passing out!
Jonathan Wright4 said:So, a few days ago I swung by the clinic with a referral, and obviously had to bring my daughter along since I couldn't exactly leave her home alone. There were about ten people ahead of me in line, and I tried being perfectly polite, asking if someone could just let me slip in for a second to grab my paperwork since it was already ready. Do you think a single soul said "yes"? Nope. Not one person.

Honestly? I don't even bother asking anymore—I just walk right up. If anyone starts making a fuss, I just tell them I'm pregnant and have priority. And if they actually try to start an argument? Well, I just wish them nothing but the best!

I’m putting my signature on every single word here—what an absolute disaster of a movie... Seriously, what a massive waste of money. Between the forced scenes, the terrible CGI, and the DESPERATE acting—especially from the lead actress, who honestly looked totally vacant with that half-open mouth expression she had the entire time—it was just a mess. And don't even get me started on the music! That random little love song they shoved into one of those countless pointless scenes? Just awful. Truly a horrific film. Honestly, one of the worst things I have ever sat through.
Commuting to work by bike in Cycling ·
Drew Gray4 said:Exactly—there’s no way I can avoid breaking a sweat! Around 7:00 AM, it’s manageable, but trying to ride in the afternoon heat while wearing a blazer? If I’m wearing that all day, I’ll be soaked through by the time I arrive.

The thing is, I don't have much to work with—just those flimsy office coat hangers, which aren't exactly helpful... if I actually had a locker, or my own private office, I'd just toss on some gym clothes and change there—simple as that.

I would honestly love to swap the car for a bike—for my health, to save money on gas, and to stop losing my mind looking for parking—but I just haven't figured out the *modus operandi* yet! :-)

Personally, I bike to work every single day. I carry my work gear (specifically cycling pants) and just change in the restroom at the office. I don't actually "ride" in my blazer every day; I just leave it hanging on a rack at work. I keep extra trousers, a shirt, and shoes with me—even if I don't need them every day, I sometimes leave them at the office too. I don't ride like a maniac, partly for safety and partly so I don't end up sweating like crazy, but I always keep wet wipes on me just to freshen up... Honestly, I don't think it's a big deal to commute by bike—you just need to grab some cycling pants. Plus, your clothes don't wrinkle nearly as much in them compared to stuffing everything into a backpack! 🙂

It’s official! The club's website just confirmed it—Tarja is coming to town as part of the What Lies Beneath Final tour 2012.

http://www.thefillmore.com/

The show she played two years ago was absolute perfection—I am definitely making sure I'm there for this one! 😍

Here's the setlist:

Kenneth Perez15 said:I've got the extended version of Return of the King and the extras are all subtitled. That's the first extended cut—the one from back in 2004.

Right, that one definitely has the subs! But the special edition—you know, the massive 5-disc set?—that one hasn't been translated... I actually own both versions, so I'm 100% sure about this!🙂
swiftfox4 said:Hey there!
I was just wondering—is everything actually okay with these discs (like, were they intended to be this way?), or am I looking at some kind of "factory defect"? 🤷

Don't sweat it, it's definitely not a factory error. It's pretty rare for those extra features to be subtitled—at least not on most of the movies in my collection...

I’m totally with you on that rating! 👍

Since I actually read the book first (and I'm just about to dive into the second one right now—so excited!), I was honestly a little skeptical about the movie version. Let's face it, adaptations rarely hit the mark, right? But this one? It’s easily one of the best I've seen, if not quite the best overall! Noomi Rapace is such an incredible choice for Lisbeth—she is absolutely phenomenal! Honestly, the entire cast is spot on, and the movie is just as gripping and intense as the book itself. 🙏

Noomi....🙏

ps. We should probably rename this thread to "Millennium Trilogy" or something similar, especially since all three films have been released now....

Caught the midnight premiere at AMC Theatres last night.

What an absolute disaster of a movie. Honestly, it’s been a long time since I’ve sat through something this bad—the acting was wooden and totally uninspired, the plot felt disjointed and rushed, the score was painful, and there was just so much forced melodrama everywhere... a total train wreck. It’s such a shame because the concept actually had potential! The idea is solid, but the execution? Just awful. Between three scenes that actually made me jump in my seat and Ethan Hawke (who, let's be real, looks like he's constantly in physical discomfort throughout the whole thing—though, okay, he's still easy on the eyes), I’m giving this a 2/10.

Solid idea and great execution—though I have to say, the ending felt a bit messy to me... It just didn't feel fully fleshed out, you know? Regardless, you've got Gerard Butler in there, so I'll take it! 😍

Drew Wright5 said:Olivia Alvarez—

Where did you find those complete recordings? I've downloaded them, obviously, but I really want the full original set! 😍

And honestly, if any ring ever ends up on my finger, it’s going to be the One Ring. 😁

Hey, you can grab the complete recordings on Amazon—here's the link (it's actually on a massive sale right now! 👍)

We didn't have an exact replica of the One Ring, but our wedding bands are actually pretty similar...🙂

Michael Ortiz68 said:Does her guy look even remotely like Aragorn or Vigg? Come on, just admit it...!🙂

I should probably post a picture, because you guys won't believe this... Seriously, it looks exactly like Aragorn! I didn't even realize it myself until everyone else started pointing it out—it's wild how the subconscious works sometimes!👍

Drew Wright5 said:I've watched the theatrical versions over 60 times... I'm not kidding, I actually counted up to 50!

Same here—definitely over 60 times! Though I did catch the first movie in theaters about 7 times...👍

Drew Wright5 said:I make sure to watch the extended editions at least once every two months since they came out.

Me too... every three months we have a full marathon at home—watching all three films, and in the extended versions, obviously!👍

Drew Wright5 said:...you even got a sentence from the first movie tattooed in Tengwar...

Well, I didn't get a whole sentence tattooed—just the number 9 in Tengwar... (I mean, it's on my neck, so a full sentence would be a bit too painful! 🙂)👍

I own all the books, both in American and English, and every single movie—the theatrical cuts plus those limited editions that come with 5 DVDs and sculptures. I also have all the soundtracks, both the standard ones and "The complete recordings" for all three films (absolute perfection!), an original replica of Arwen's necklace... and I even had my wedding dress made as a replica of Eowyn's dress!😍

It’s honestly impossible for me to pick just one—at least in my case! Every single scene across the entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy is absolutely perfect. 👍
Fainted / Passed out in Health ·
nimbletrucker132 said:I would love to hear about your experiences and get your take on this:

I have a 15-year-old son, and over the last nine months, he has fainted about five times. Each incident seems to be linked to the environment—specifically high room temperatures, poor ventilation, or crowded spaces. This morning, he lost consciousness again while riding the FedEx 😢. He had eaten at home beforehand, so it wasn't an issue of him being on an empty stomach. We actually had him undergo a brain scan and see a neurologist back this past summer, and the takeaway was that these episodes are likely just due to his rapid growth spurts.

Does anyone have advice on how I can best support him through this?

I deal with the exact same thing! I pass out on the subway quite often—usually when it's packed and there's zero oxygen (and heaven forbid you try to open a window, or you'll have old ladies complaining about their ears acting up... 🙄). Everything is medically fine with me, I've just learned how to dodge those situations. As soon as I feel that "off" sensation, I get off at the next stop, find a seat, grab something sugary, and chug about half a liter of water... I have low blood pressure, so if I'm standing too long in a stuffy place (especially if the barometric pressure is low outside, which makes it so much worse), my brain basically decides it's time for a nap... 😉
Don't worry too much—I really don't think it's anything dangerous. It's mostly just about him learning to recognize his body's warning signs—like having a dry mouth, cold hands, a racing heart, dizziness, or legs feeling like jelly. Once he feels that, he just needs to find a spot to sit down immediately...
