I'm about to relapse, please help! in Psychology ·
hiddentrucker16 said:Where do you all get the right to pass judgment on kind, empathetic people? I was actually just talking to my grandmother about gay rights recently, and she mentioned how they used to be jailed back in the day—and honestly, even now, you still hear those nasty comments, like "look at that queer, someone needs to teach him a lesson." I think I'll step away from discussing addicts; it's all a bit too heavy and depressing for me. My apologies once again to Chris Peterson53, and I truly wish you nothing but the best—success in everything you aim for, and a life filled with happiness and comfort, free from suffering, pain, anger, bitterness, or rage... goodbye.

Whoa, hold on—do you need glasses or something? Because I am definitely not judging anyone based on their orientation. From everything I've READ in this entire thread, nobody has even brought that up.... The whole discussion is about drugs, not sexual orientation....

Anyway, take care!👋

Noah Sanchez7 said:We have finally reached the heart of the matter >> creating and shaping a society >> so that a child isn't ashamed of having a parent with an addiction, and an addict isn't ashamed of their struggle, just as a person in a wheelchair shouldn't be ashamed of their physical disability..

Now, does anyone have the guts and integrity to argue that such a hypothetical, less intolerant society wouldn't be better than the one we live in today?

Am I hearing you right, "violent" and unadjusted with a disgusting persona..?

God help me, what a crowd...

Come on, seriously—can you please just stop obsessing over my avatar already?🙂

I genuinely cannot fathom it—you have the audacity to call others "parasites of society" when you are clearly the one acting as a drain on it if anyone else thinks like you do. Veronica, I have just one question: where on earth do you think you get the right to act this way?

Look, honey, being gay isn't someone's fault, and neither is mental illness... but being a drug addict? That's a choice, and there is a HUGE difference there! I didn't see anything in the text about judging people based on their sexual orientation.
And as for "rights"—I don't quite get the question? Are we not allowed to have our own opinions on things? Or are we just forbidden from actually saying them out loud? 👎

Noah Sanchez7 said:I just wanted to say this to clear up any stereotypes: being an addict doesn't automatically mean you're unintelligent.

That way, we won't be unfairly blaming everything on drugs.👍

IMHO, every addict is a stupid addict... because if they weren't, they wouldn't be an addict in the first place! 😎

Noah Sanchez7 said:I don't follow you, you're being difficult, and I'm not a fan of your avatar either..😉 👍

Look, my avatar has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion we're having—I just don't see how it's even remotely relevant here...😕

Noah Sanchez7 said:If you were any smarter, you wouldn't compare a predator to an addict.
A predator who directly inflicts physical and psychological pain on another person, especially a child, is not the same as an addict who, if they cause anyone pain, does it exclusively to themselves!!

Since you aren't any smarter, I can't really blame you..

Honestly, that would only be true if you were totally alone in the world—no parents, no friends, absolutely nobody who actually gives a damn about you...

Noah Sanchez7 said:I’m not sure if any of you have heard about blockers.
They basically neutralize the effects of any drugs, including heroin.
There are three types available >> pills, injections, and implants.

I stick to the pills because they’re the cheapest option. One pill lasts me two days, and during that time, I can take as much coke as I want and it’ll feel like I just drank a glass of water. It’s the same deal with oxycodone, Tramadol, and stuff like that.
Now, an implant that lasts two months goes for about $650, and an injection that works for a month is around $430.
Where am I supposed to get that kind of money?

I recently heard there’s this new injection that lasts for an entire year! And wouldn't you know it, it costs $3,200...?!

A blocker is hands down the most effective way to get clean, mostly because you realize there's no point in chasing a high when you know it won't hit.
If some "addict" were to get that one-year injection, do you know what that actually means for them?
It means no coke for a whole year. And during those twelve months, they aren't just going to sit at home waiting for the clock to run out; they’ll likely try to get back into a normal routine.

So, I’m asking you good people—specifically those working in the outpatient clinics who claim to care so much about helping addicts recover—can't this be made a little more affordable, or even free???

It's just more proof that everything is about the money. Nobody actually gives a damn about us addicts.

Honestly? For me, it’s more about feeling bad for you guys. You really are in a tough spot.

Honestly, I found the movie so incredibly dull that I actually fell asleep during my first attempt—and that was back when my dad was still around! The second time, I only made it through about thirty minutes before giving up. By the third try, I had to watch it in "puzzle mode"—basically just jumping around the house and getting up for totally random reasons just so I wouldn't die of boredom while watching.

But man, I absolutely loved the book!

It really is fascinating...😁
Both the book and the film are absolutely perfect in my eyes, though I think I actually prefer the movie—mostly because of Jodie Foster. She brought such incredible life to the character of Ellie...
I still get teary-eyed thinking about that scene in space... "Poetry... they should've sent a poet... no words..." 🙏

So... for as long as I can remember, allergies have been my shadow. It usually hits hardest in the spring—the classic stuff, you know? Constant sneezing, itchy red eyes, endless nose blowing... just a mess. As I got older, things actually took a turn for the worse. I started dealing with asthma attacks, which really peaked over the last two years. It was brutal—asthma would wake me up every single morning, and I was constantly reaching for my Albuterol just to catch a normal breath... I tried playing by the rules and being a "good patient" with the standard medical route (Aricept and all that other junk), but honestly? It didn't do much for me at all.
Since I started drinking Noni, my asthma is just... gone. Completely vanished! I feel absolutely phenomenal—mostly because I’m finally sleeping through the entire night (after such a long, long time!), but also just because my whole body feels better overall...

Well, fine! If nobody else is going to do it, I will—and yeah, I’m talking about all three books in the series!
