1. who was actually supposed to play Anakin Skywalker before they went with Hayden Christensen?
2. what's the deal with people linking the Star Wars prequels to Lord of the Rings?
3. what happened to Mark Hamill that almost kept him from being in episodes 5 and 6?
4. in what recent movie do Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher both show up?
1. Leonardo DiCaprio? 😕
2. Saruman or Count Dooku (Christopher Lee) 🙂
3. He was in a nasty car wreck and had to get some facial reconstruction surgery. (If you look closely, he looks a bit different in episode 5 compared to 4.)
Look, rapidmoose5, you totally ruined the vibe. I didn't think everyone was supposed to drop a full encyclopedia of planets right out of the gate; the whole point is to build on what each other says. One person mentions something, then the next person adds to it, and so on...
What, did you seriously think my memory only stretches as far as Naboo?
Fine, if we're being pedantic, I’ll add that you completely blanked on Dantooine—that's the planet Princess Leia said the Rebels hide out on—and you didn't even bring up the Gungan city. (Can't remember if I spelled that right myself) And just for the record, Mos Eisley is a city, not a planet.
I mean, looking at this, the future of the Star Wars subforum is basically frozen solid. If it's not on ice, it's definitely stuck in a vacuum.
Since they won't let us mess around with actual Star Wars stuff, let's just play our own games here instead.
How about a little contest: whoever can list the most planets, cities, and locations from the Star Wars universe. Whoever remembers the most becomes the moderator. 😁 (Obviously you could just Google it, but who has the energy for that? 😉)
Keanu Reeves said:I hate moderating, honestly, but why shouldn't rapidmoose5 and silentpilot6 just split the moderator lightsaber duty? Unless the Jedi Council changes their mind once they realize how genius my suggestion actually is and decides to appoint me as the mod instead...
So, did anyone else catch that way Tom Cruise was looking at Nicole Kidman? Like, he had this crazy smirk on his face, and she looked totally caught off guard, just all smiles while she was introducing him. And then Tom rolls up with his mom in tow. Hmm... I’ve got a feeling there’s something going on behind the scenes again. 😉
-brightmoose- said:I’ve gotta say, this whole movie thing feels sketchy as hell.
Mainly because I'm a massive Garfield fan—get a new comic strip in my inbox every single day. I've got a mountain of Garfield comics piled up, like, way more than I can handle. 😛
Yeah, I'm a huge Garfield fan too, so anything involving him gets me hyped, but once you bring up Scooby-Doo... 🙄 ... man, just gives me the chills thinking about it. Fingers crossed that Garfield isn't even half as bad as those other cartoons. 😁
Since Garfield is basically one of my all-time favorites, I'm actually pretty hyped about this. My only real worry is if it’s gonna be a total letdown. So Bill Murray is voicing Garfield... hmm... the original cartoon voice was pure genius to me, but Bill Murray is hilarious... so, whatever, we'll see how it plays out.
Legion said:Look, if you're that obsessed with being a mod—fine, have it your way. I'm officially dropping my name from the running. Let Nash and Galaxy handle the moderation duties instead.
Hmm, I gotta say, I can't just sit here and stay quiet about this. Mainly because you’re actually putting in the work. The three of us have been so wrapped up in trying to moderate the Star Wars section that nobody else even posts here besides us. 😁 It’d be the fairest thing if all three of us could do it, but I know that's probably not happening. Don't back out, Legion. If we get a dedicated Star Wars subforum, let's just see who's actually best for the job. 😉
rapidmoose5 said:Actually, that’s not a bad idea at all!
Seriously though, I live for Fantasy and Sci-Fi. At this point, it's basically all I read, watch, or play.😁
Maybe things would run way smoother if we did that.
Yeah, but I think silentpilot6 has a point. Star Wars really needs its own dedicated section. If we don't, everything just gets lumped together—books, comics, concept art, you name it. Star Wars should stay isolated within the Movie forum, since that’s where it all started. Everything else just branched off from the movies anyway.
fadedsailor932😍 , get in on this scheme with me so we can take over the whole damn galaxy. Join me, and we will ruin the universe together! JOIN ME OR DIE! 😁 😉
This isn't gonna fly if it's just some niche Star Wars subforum. It needs to be Sci-Fi and Fantasy, then everything else would just fall into place naturally.
silentpilot6 said:What are you ladies even on about? Who was the first one to bring this up? Who’s out here actually calling people together to back us? Let’s just get the subforum approved first, then we can fight over who gets to be the moderator.
Look, I wouldn't mind if you were positioned right between rapidmoose5 and me and we all ran the show together, but honestly, I doubt that's ever gonna happen. That's why there's a fight brewing.
Btw, go ahead and call your Stormtroopers for backup if you want, I'm calling the mods. 😁
I’ve got some thoughts on this whole potential subforum idea. Look, it’s true there isn't much Star Wars talk on here right now, and yeah, technically we could just spin up a subforum for any single trilogy if we wanted to. But Star Wars is way bigger than just a trilogy—everyone knows that by now. It’s basically outgrown being just a series of movies. And I’m not just talking about the Expanded Universe; I mean the entire phenomenon. Let’s be real, the movies themselves aren't even that groundbreaking, but everyone still obsesses over them and talks them to death. Why? We should actually look into that. What is it about the Star Wars charisma that hits so hard?
Also, there's that one dedicated Star Wars site with its own forum, but it’s been pretty dead lately. Things peaked around the release of Episode II and then just tanked. It’ll probably spike again when Episode III drops, but that's only because those people are there *only* for Star Wars. On this forum, people hang out for a million different reasons, though they might drift over to a specific subforum once in a while. Besides, the people who have settled in here? Trust me, they don't want to go trekking over to some other site. They just want a spot where they can geek out about Star Wars without leaving home.
And honestly, I really hope this subforum doesn't just become a circle-jerk for fans singing praises. I want the critics too—the people who’ll call out why certain parts suck or how crazy it is that everyone loses their minds over that stupid Star Vors! I'm being dead serious.
rapidmoose5 said:but hey, I'm throwing Nass out there 😘
see how awesome I am? 🙂
Same here. 😁 rapidmoose5 😘
Since there are so many movie mods floating around, and from what I've seen, none of them actually give a damn about SW, we really need at least two mods over here. I'm nominating rapidmoose5. I'm pretty great too. 🙂 It would be cool to have some female mods; there's way too much male dominance going on! 😉
rapidmoose5 said:hey now don't go snitching on us like that. we literally agreed that whoever wins gets to split the throne with the other one and there is, or can be, no man or woman who can beat us! 😘
Pssst, girl, that's exactly why I was acting like we were bickering—so they wouldn't suspect a thing. 😉
rapidstag74 said:Total lie. In 1981, they were watching Indiana Jones, not Star Wars. Your mask is slipping. OSAMA bin LADEN!!!111 You’re just lurking on these forums pretending to be some girl who's a huge SW fan!!!111
Look, I already said I've seen Star Wars, just didn't specify which one. The first Star Wars movie I actually saw was The Empire Strikes Back, which came out in '80. Back then, movies weren't hitting US cinemas at the exact same time they did here in the States. Especially not at the specific theater I used to go to.
