Honestly, I’d make my own list, but man, it’s tough. I’d really have to sit down and actually think about what counts as "the best." I’ve already got way too many candidates floating around in my head, and I can't even decide which ones are better than the others. Once I figure it out, I'll be back.
Hey Richard Howard2, look, a person's allowed to have their own taste, right?😉 It doesn't matter if mine is a little off from the norm.😁 😉 Or maybe he's that little guy in the avatar?
Same goes for my guy. He just laughs at me every time I jump out of my skin because I got "zapped." It really depends on how often it happens. Some days it’s constant—like, I can’t even touch a metal object, another person, or even my cat without getting hit. And then it just lingers for days. Other times, it’s totally fine for a while. It probably just comes down to how much static electricity is hanging in the air. Honestly though, I’m getting pretty paranoid about it, so I’m constantly bracing myself so I don't get shocked. I've also noticed that some people deal with this way more than others. My mom gets hit with it all the time, but my dad? Not even a little bit... No clue why, though.
cosmicridge5 said:Like I said: why does this only happen to me? 😕 Man, you're not helping at all.... Electron is just straight up screaming in agony here....🙂
Look, if it makes you feel any better, you aren't alone. I deal with the exact same thing. Sometimes I'm actually scared to touch anything. It gets so bad in stores where I'll get "zapped" and start jumping around like a crazy person while everyone stares.😁 Take my partner, for example—he doesn't get hit by it at all. I'll grab his hand and I'll get "shocked," but he feels nothing. He just says he felt a tiny little tingle.😕 So, out of pure fear of getting zapped again, I’ll go charging at a doorknob or snatching a car handle... basically, my system is just wired to be faster so the electricity doesn't get a chance to "hit" me first. 😁 😁 😁
redowl90 said:Watch out, this is a trick question since we're talking about two movies that most people absolutely HATE...
Most people hate them??? Are you actually talking about the movies themselves or just the romance subplots? Because honestly, those films rank way too high on the all-time popularity lists for anyone to say "most people" don't like them.
Kenneth Hernandez67 said:Maybe you don't quite get what that word actually means... people taking stuff labeled as "cleanses" aren't actually fixing their metabolism; they're just dealing with irregular bathroom habits. That’s obviously true when you're talking about standard laxatives. Then you've got that whole group of people who use those supplements—and all kinds of diuretics—specifically to try and drop weight. Which is a terrible idea.
In my opinion, if a product only works as a laxative, it doesn't count as a metabolism booster. Unless it's doing something else you didn't mention.
But that's exactly the point—Metabolism isn't a laxative. I already said it helped me stay regular, which is just one symptom of having a messed up metabolism. I specifically avoided using laxatives because they aren't healthy. To be more specific about Metabolism capsules: Metabolism is basically the sum of all the biochemical processes happening inside the human body—the stuff that builds up, breaks down, and repairs cells to keep everything running. For your metabolism to actually kick into gear and run normally, unsaturated fatty acids are huge, especially gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). GLA is super biologically active. It comes from linoleic acid, which you only really get through a healthy diet rich in plant oils. Once that gets processed biochemically, the end result is prostaglandin E1. This thing acts almost like a hormone and plays a massive role in activating the metabolism by regulating vital cell functions. Prostaglandin E1 has a very specific job when it comes to firing up fat metabolism. It makes it easier for fat to be released from the cells and converted into actual energy. That whole biochemical mechanism is what allows the body to shed fat deposits more easily. Metabolism® capsules naturally replenish the GLA in your system, making sure you have enough prostaglandin E1 synthesized to keep your metabolism optimal and speed up the breakdown of fat stores.
Kenneth Hernandez67 said:I’m dead serious here... how on earth does one single pill speed up your metabolism? Like, am I gonna have steam coming out of my ears or what? 😕
I’ve used Metabolism before and it’s great, but honestly, you won't feel much of anything until you've been on it for about three months. Yeah, I know, sounds like a drag. And let's be real—just taking Metabolism isn't going to magically melt the fat off if you're still overeating. It's strictly a metabolism activator meant to support weight loss, but you still need to watch your calories or stick to a diet. For me, Metabolism was a lifesaver because my metabolism got completely trashed after dieting... basically, my digestion slowed way down and I was dealing with constant constipation and stuff. Metabolism helps prevent that from happening. And it actually works. It was the only thing that finally got my metabolism back to normal. If I ever decided to go on another diet, I’d definitely pair it with Metabolism. Just popping Metabolism without doing anything else is pretty much pointless.
Peter Williams9 said:Is that the one where that little chubby kid Mickey Rooney was acting? And everyone’s walking around with those old-school revolvers tucked into their waistbands.
Nah, it wasn't Rooney. It was actually a young Michael Jackson playing the piano.😁
Man, I remember watching this flick when I was just a kid and thinking it was absolute gold.🙂 I can’t quite pin down the title right now, but I’m pretty sure it’s "Bugsy Malone". The whole thing is actually kind of wild—it’s got this weirdly cool vibe where they cast kids to play all these hardened gangsters.😎 And get this, one of Jodie Foster’s earliest roles was actually in that movie. I really feel like rewatching it just to see if it still hits the same way.😉
1. Star Wars - the whole saga (only Episode II is on DVD and I had to cough up $80 for it, instead of just paying 200 bucks ). 2. Leon: The Professional (the one with Jean Reno) 3. Dracula (the Coppola version with Gary Oldman) 4. Groundhog Day (honestly one of the most brilliant movies ever made, Bill Murray is a legend) 5. Gladiator
(I’ve got way, way more, but these are the ones I'm picking out for now.)
Uhh, is there even any point in comparing the animation in FF : TSW? I didn't even really watch it as a cartoon—not that I wasn't interested in the animation, but more like a movie. To me, cartoons are all about those caricatured characters (well, not always). And as a movie, it’s pretty pathetic, but man, the animation is stunning. That old scientist guy was the best part; they actually showed his wrinkles and facial imperfections, whereas everyone else just looked way too "smooth" to me.
And regarding how people look in Ice Age, do you guys seriously think they couldn't have done a better job with the humans? Of course they could've. My take is that the humans were animated that way on purpose, for the same reason the people don't talk. It's to show we're looking at an animal world and to downplay how important humans are. Humans are like some other dimension that just happens to overlap with that baby.
Richard Howard2 said:Look, I'm not hating on the "real" Disney classics—I actually love those. I'm talking about this recent stuff they've been pumping out since The Lion King, plus all those mindless "suburban kid-trap" movies that drop every single day and nobody even notices...
Alright then, fair enough. I was honestly starting to worry you were gonna come at me for liking legendary characters, like Lucifer from Cinderella.😁
Richard Howard2 said:It blows my mind that anyone actually still buys into Disney—like, people actually care about their movies.
Hold up, now we’re just being extra.👎 Look, Disney and his whole empire basically invented the cartoon! Besides a few other legends, Disney himself was this massive visionary and absolute genius, and everyone following him just wanted to keep that legacy alive. If things aren't what they used to be, why would anyone be an idiot and keep looking for that old-school Disney magic? Personally, I haven't sat through many of the recent Disney's studio flicks because they just don't grab me (even though I love animation), but I'll always be riding for Disney.
Look, I actually think Ice Age is awesome. And let's be real, it’s definitely not just for kids... kids laugh at completely different stuff in these movies than adults do...
For me, it’s totally Sid's Law, especially when he's trying to start a fire in the middle of a downpour while Manfred is just standing there like, "pretty sure I saw a spark." 😁 😁 😁 The squirrel is great, but I don't think it's the best part of the movie... still, I wish they had included more of him.😉 Oh yeah, who was that guy again? I totally missed that bit, probably because I was watching it on my laptop.
Look, it’s a fact: in terms of pure storytelling and actual drama, Monsters, Inc. is the heavyweight here. Honestly, trying to rank these three is a total headache, but if I had to put them in order, Shrek would land at number 3. For the top two spots, it’s basically a toss-up between Monsters, Inc. and Ice Age depending on my mood, but let's just say Monsters, Inc. takes 2nd and Ice Age grabs the #1 spot. That's just my take, though.
If I actually sat down and broke it all down properly, I might change my mind.
Ugh, me again talking about cartoons, but hey, I’m a huge fan, so deal with it...😉
Rewatched Shrek yesterday and it made me want to get your take on things. These three movies from the recent era are hands down some of the funniest animated films out there. They basically represent this whole new wave of animation that moves away from that super "cute" Disney-era style (don't get me wrong, I love Disney), where characters are drawn more caricatured and goofy rather than just being sweet. Sometimes just looking at a character makes you crack up. Plus, the humor is way edgier and sharper—let's be real, they aren't just for kids... half the jokes would fly right over a kid's head.
It’s honestly kind of unfair to pit these three against each other because they're all top-tier, and picking a winner is tough, but I know you guys have your favorites.
Actually, I noticed a massive similarity—actually, scratch that, they’re basically identical:
what they share in terms of plot structure - one big, powerful, somewhat serious lead - Shrek (1st movie), Sully (2nd movie), Manfred the mammoth (3rd movie) - a smaller, annoying, talkative sidekick who clings to the big guy and carries most of the comedy - Donkey (1st), Mike (2nd), Sid the sloth (3rd) - they have to escort someone somewhere or successfully deliver/return someone - a princess (1st), a little girl (2nd), a baby (3rd) Now, they've added extra layers in every film, like enemies turning into friends (the dragon in Shrek, Diego in Ice Age), along with other little details that make them unique.
But basically, the formula for all three is the exact same. Whatever, it works.
Even though I think they're all awesome, I laughed my head off at Sid the sloth in Ice Age.😁 (Though Donkey from Shrek is a close second.)😁
Hm... first off, for me, Alien was the best one. Maybe it's because everything was kept hidden and just felt so eerie. That internal sense of dread it builds up inside you—at least for me—was most effective in that movie. The other films are creepy, scary, gross (not saying that in a bad way)... and we see all of it. In the first one, so much is left to the imagination, and let's be real, your own mind is the best director in the world.
I’d rather not even comment on Star Wars. I watch them as a whole series, and personally, I don't like picking them apart individually. The original trilogy is pure fantasy to me, which makes sense since I grew up with them. I used to say Return of the Jedi was the worst, but I don't think that anymore. I mean, what about the part where Darth Vader turns good? Episode I is the worst for everyone, but to me, it's just another chapter in my favorite saga. Every series has its hits and misses. As for Episode II... yeah, I'm not going there right now.
Personally, I'm a huge fan of the first Indiana Jones, but the third one has Sean Connery in it.
Terminator 2 is way better for me, simply because James Cameron did such a killer job building tension throughout the entire film. Some of the effects in the first one might look a bit naive by today's standards. But come on, admit it, we all love watching Arnold as the hero.😉
And don't even get me started on the James Bond sequels.😁 😁 😁
Look, I'm just gonna toss these out there for now. Honestly, I haven't hit the theater to catch most of these lately:
1. Star Wars: Episode II 2. Ice Age 😁 😁 😁 (might not be a masterpiece, but it's hilarious!!!) 3. Monsters, Inc. (yeah, yeah, I know... but you know how much I love animation)
