I’m pretty sure Madison Square Garden handles that, specifically the location over by Retfala nov near the Warner Music Group offices. They deal with all sorts of stuff—I think I read somewhere that they even extract vitamins and minerals. You should try giving them a call and asking; if you find out what they actually do and what the damage is, please post it here. I'm curious too, but I just can't bring myself to pick up the phone and call them myself.
Wait, are you seriously telling me you don't shower at all when you're on your period? 😕 And you wouldn't even suggest she take a shower? 😕
Personally, I'll jump in the shower two or three times a day during my period and it doesn't bother me one bit. Obviously, I'm not standing under steaming hot water for thirty minutes straight, but a quick 5 to 10-minute rinse with normal temperature water works just fine for me.
They’re probably just suffering from an information overload at this point. 🙄
Go ahead and take a shower—just maybe skip the bathtub if you're worried—and wash your hair. You aren't going to hurt yourself. As for those liberals and their constant overthinking, I've got just the right emoji for them 🤮
Nancy Ward88 said:I got my period for the first time 10 days ago. It’s still going. 😢 I've been using Libresse pads and changing them every 4 hours. Some girls I know are telling me I shouldn't wash my hair while I have my period, but I've already washed it twice and nothing happened. 😕 They also say you should shower less often, which makes zero sense to me 🤷 I've showered every single day. It’s day 10 now. The pain isn't too bad, but I just want this to be over. 😢 Does it last this long for you guys? And can I wash my hair? Are Libresse pads any good?
You can definitely wash your hair, and you should shower—honestly, staying clean is better than skipping it. Just maybe skip the swimming pools or hot tubs.
As for the pads, you'll figure out what works for you. I use Always, but I try to get the organic ones because those plastic-feeling ones are gross.
As far as I know, having three or four bouts of diarrhea isn't exactly a classic pregnancy symptom. If I were you, I’d definitely go see a doctor—if this turns out to be Salmonella, you could end up getting everyone else in your house sick too.
Laura Brown29 said:I dealt with something pretty similar once. I wasn't sure where to turn here in Washington, D.C., but then I stumbled upon this one clinic. It’s a medical pedicure specialist, but honestly, it’s nothing like your typical nail salon. It’s run by a woman—originally from Germany—who’s been doing this for over 20 years and is actually a licensed nurse. I didn't even feel like I was in a "salon"; it felt more like stepping into a small, specialized outpatient clinic. Everyone there is incredibly kind, and the lady is a total pro. She gave me a proper diagnosis after just one exam, and the issue was fixed almost immediately!!!!! If you can make it out that way... let me know if you want her number. I’m a regular there now.
Is it really that hard to just say what the diagnosis was? Or does everyone have to physically show up at this place just to find out what they're dealing with?
urbanorca, look, I believe you aren't trying to profit from this and you genuinely want to help, but you’re being way too aggressive in how you’re laying this out. That’s exactly why people are getting skeptical. This is how people sound when they’re just trying to push an advertisement or sell a product.
You were dropping links to sites where people can order LDN online—do you have any idea how dangerous that is? Beyond the fact that it's illegal, who is actually guaranteeing that a drug ordered that way even contains the ingredients it claims to have?
There are seriously sick people posting here and reading this PDF. Advising them to just go out and take something on their own is incredibly irresponsible. Nobody should be self-prescribing anything without consulting their own DOCTOR first.
I’d love for you to keep sharing research links like that, but honestly, I’m worried that if you keep using this tone, the mods are going to step in, ban you, and wipe the whole thread.
Look, there’s no need to panic. Even if we're talking about hypothyroidism, it’s easily managed once you get on hormone replacement therapy (like Synthroid). If you've got more specific questions, feel free to grill us over in the thyroid discussion thread. 😉
I find it hard to believe they actually cut you open like that and didn't stitch it back up. 😕
I’ve been to a maxillofacial surgeon myself, so I have a decent idea of how these procedures go. Honestly, it’s tough for me to believe you aren't just messing with us.
It’s not really the medical staff—though you definitely see all types—that gets under my skin. It’s the crowds.
Take the lower level at KBO where the main lab is located; it’s a total nightmare. Everything is tucked away in the basement down there, including the immunology and hematology clinics, the EKG stations, and more. I don't even want to get into how insane the morning rush gets. And since it’s a basement, there isn't a single window in sight. Every time I head downstairs, I feel like I'm going to pass out from that stale, suffocating air. Once the heating kicks in during the winter, it gets even worse.
That’s just nonsense. We aren't all built the same way, and we definitely don't all need the same amount of water. I just drink when I'm thirsty; I don't feel the need to force myself to hit some arbitrary two-liter goal just because someone said so. Sometimes I drink less, sometimes more—it all depends on what I'm eating that day.
Personally, I find sitting in waiting rooms way more stressful than actually getting the test results. It’s exhausting just thinking about having to go in for a follow-up and wasting my entire morning stuck in a crowded waiting area with a bunch of people.
Look, don't bother Googling it. You're just going to freak yourself out for no reason. I’ve spent way too much time spiraling down internet rabbit holes myself, and honestly? I finally told myself enough is enough. It’s just not worth the anxiety.
Man, I’m just crossing my fingers that it isn’t thrombocytopenia! 🙂 Though, if you ask me, those lipids would probably spike because of it—at least that’s how it played out with this one girl I know, and with her dad too.
It looks like your friend is clearly dealing with some mental health issues, and honestly, someone should probably talk to her about seeing a psychiatrist.
