Best protein powders for muscle gain? in Hobbies & Leisure ·

If I were you, I’d just grab some whey. Use one shake a day after your workout as a meal replacement—assuming you're eating plenty of other food, obviously.

Also, what are you actually doing at these training sessions? Just running around and playing ball, or are you hitting the gym for actual strength training? If the goal is putting on mass, you need to build muscle.

I deal with the same issue where I'm constantly moving and can't seem to pack on the weight. Actually, I'm sitting at about 175 lbs at 6'0", but I don't even look it. Nobody believes me when I say I weigh 175; they all assume I'm more like 155. And I eat a ton of good stuff: oats, lean proteins, tuna, chicken... I'm honestly counting down the days until I can afford my next tub of protein powder.

Anyway, does anyone here have experience using Animal M-Stak?

So you wrote that you want to gain muscle mass!!!!!!

Then obviously you have to train for it—it goes without saying. You aren't going to build muscle just by sipping shakes all day. You actually have to lift, otherwise everything you gain is just going straight to fat.

He didn't tell me to quit entirely, just to scale back. But honestly? I’d rather just kick the habit once and for all so I don't have to deal with these cravings forever. Even if I'm pretty sure it doesn't actually matter, whatever. The guy who gave me the advice is a pro bodybuilder who's also studying med school or something, so he clearly knows his stuff.

If you’re looking for whey, just look at the price per ounce. I’d grab a massive 10 or 12 lb tub from Optimum Nutrition for maybe $100-$$233. You’ll be set for half a year, whereas buying those tiny 2 lb tubs is a joke—you run out in two months and have to go shopping again.
Besides, those 2 lb containers usually run you about $50-$$150
I actually saw a huge tub from Optimum Nutrition for $233.

As for mass gainers and that kind of stuff, I'm no expert, but I know the body needs both protein and carbs to build mass. You aren't going to bulk up on protein alone; at least, that's what I read. This guy needs to pack on a ton of weight. If I remember correctly, he was about 180 lbs and only weighed 120 lbs? He probably needs another 45 lbs to hit his goal, so using a mass gainer would get him there much faster. The only catch is he’d need to train like a beast so he doesn't just turn all that sugar into fat.

Personally, I avoid those mass gainers too. I stick to whey. But if I were in his shoes, I’d definitely lean into the bulking phase because it’s the fastest way for him to see results.

Of course, you can get those carbs from actual food; they don't just exist in powder form.🙂 If you stick to whey—which is basically pure protein—just do a quick Google search for the best carb sources and supplement with those.

Anyway, don't come for me if I got something wrong. I'm not exactly a nutritionist.

p.s

To save me from answering everyone's DMs: I've decided to train clean without any supplements for the next couple of months, so please stop sending me offers. I'm starting Accutane for my acne soon, and some guy over at bodybuilding.com advised me to cut back on protein because of some nonsense regarding liver health. So, I'm pausing the supplements until spring. I'll keep training, and then once spring hits, I'll go on a shopping spree and buy whatever I want.

I'm 16 years old, 5'11", and only 123 lbs (which is way too light)
I want to know which proteins I can take considering my age and weight so I can gain some actual mass (and if it's possible to build muscle too)?
Please help me out🙏🙏🙏

If I were you, I'd grab some mass gainer or whatever they call them. Basically, anything with both carbs and protein is probably your best bet for gaining weight.
Maybe ask someone else for their take too.

I'm looking to pick up some whey. I want something high quality, but let's be real, I don't want to go broke doing it.
I originally grabbed a 5lb tub of that ELITE WHEY, paid about $133, only to realize right as I was scraping the bottom of the container that I'd been burned. Apparently, I read online that the whole line was a joke—they actually got slapped with fines because the label was a total lie. Some testing showed it was basically 40% carbs. Great. Just great.

I need another 2kg to get me through my daily workouts for the next couple of months. I did some digging and stumbled upon this brand called Pro.Nutrition. They have a 1kg whey for $55. Anyone here actually used them? Is the protein count legit or is it more of the same? How's the quality...

Anyone else have any decent whey recommendations? Drop them below.
I’m not exactly a huge fan of American cinema. The only ones that actually worked for me were
-HOW THE WAR STARTED ON MY ISLAND
-THE MARSHAL

If you're looking for movies from that old era of the former Eastern Bloc, I'd suggest these. The dialect isn't pure American, but it's all pretty much the same vibe:

-WHO IS SINGING OVER THERE
-MARATHON RUNNERS DO A HONORARY LAP
-THE NORTH AMERICAN SPY

In my opinion, those three are top-tier films from this part of the world.

This probably isn't the right thread for TV shows, but since I'm typing it anyway, the only American series I'd recommend is: BITANGE AND PRINCESSES. It's a comedy and honestly the only thing worth watching around here.

Look, here’s my take. If you’re looking for an action flick, something like this is actually great. Compared to the garbage they pump out these days, it's solid. And I loved Armageddon just because I'm a sucker for sci-fi.

Bad Boys is just your average action comedy—I’m not usually a huge fan of that genre anyway, but let's be honest, there have been much better versions out there. The Rock is a decent enough action thriller that fits right into that generic cinematic landscape of the 90s, and Armageddon is pretty much the same story. As for Pearl Harbor, it was a total fiasco; beyond the fact that it turned into a complete soap opera, it failed to show what I actually wanted to see regarding the event—the real truth behind the attack. Bad Boys 2? Zero points.
From a production and technical standpoint, he might fascinate some people, but not me. Just because a movie uses sensational special effects doesn't mean it's automatically good. Personally, I don't even care much for the "big effect" category; I look for something more substantial (at least, that's how I feel).

So, that's everything I've seen from him. Should I give him "one more chance"? Honestly, I think I'll pass.

To each their own. For me, The Rock and Armageddon are masterpieces.

Anyone here actually used these proteins? Are they any good? Thinking about picking some up, just want to know if they're worth it before I pull the trigger.

As of right now, there isn't a single trailer or photo out there for this movie (aside from this one).

Release date: May 14, 2010

Cast: Russell Crowe (Gladiator, 3:10 to Yuma....),
Cate Blanchett (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Aviator....)

Director: Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, American Gangster....)

Blood Diamond, Glory, and The Last Samurai are all top-tier movies in my book. I've got a feeling this one's going to be just as good too.

I actually avoided this one because of all the bad reviews, but I finally sat down to watch it and honestly? It’s a really solid movie. Did anyone else catch how they basically hand you the killer right at the start? In that scene where Robert De Niro is watching the footage, his first line is basically saying, "My name is David Fisk and I killed 14 people..." or something along those lines. That means everything he's saying on that tape is actually about Al Pacino. I knew immediately it wasn't him; otherwise, the whole thing would be way too easy. Personally, I thought the woman was the killer.

Nicholas Meyer - Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country is easily the best Sci-Fi film out there. I've lost count of how many times I've watched it.

Stumbled upon this trailer by accident. I don't recall hearing anything about this movie coming out before today.

Looking at this trailer, you’d think the movie was actually decent. It looks like it has action and everything, but the actual film is terrible. I honestly feel bad $4.00 about wasting my money at the local video store on this

P. S. This is supposed to be a romance. Sure, there's some action in the trailer, but there's just as much action in the actual movie.
Ever watched a trailer and thought, "Okay, this is it, I have to see this," only to sit through the actual movie and feel completely let down?
Was Braveheart the worst Oscar winner? in Movies ·
I haven't actually sat down to watch Infernal Affairs, but honestly, it probably wouldn't have been worth my time anyway if those actors were just staring blankly at each other the whole time.
Was Braveheart the worst Oscar winner? in Movies ·
I’ve honestly read enough nonsense here to make me lose my mind.
Braveheart is bad? Where do you people live? And Rocky—you guys are seriously delusional. You won't find a better martial arts movie anywhere, and the plot, the music... I just love it. Then there's Forrest Gump. Good grief, who wrote that nonsense? I'd die of embarrassment if I actually agreed that Forrest Gump was bad. The only one that holds up is Titanic; it deserved an Oscar because making a film like that back then was incredible and felt so authentic, though I don't know about an 11/10.

So now you're saying those movies didn't deserve it, but Seven did? My God, what are people watching these days? I can already guess which movies you think deserve Oscars. You probably love stuff like Rambo, Terminator, RoboCop, or Commando, where some tough guy walks in alone with a six-shot revolver and kills fifty people like it's nothing. It’s pathetic that anyone enjoys that kind of trash. Don't tell me Gladiator is a bad movie too.

P.S. I read someone say that The Departed was a terrible movie. If that's what you meant, do us all a favor and quit; whoever wrote that clearly has no clue what they're talking about.
