Optical vs. Laser mice: Which is better? in Computer Peripherals ·
Bryan Evans77 said:She bought a mouse for $17 and lost her mind when she saw the price was $67, yet you’re out here trying to sell her one for 450 from Best Buy? And on top of that, she's a total Melissa Hernandez64 :P

Anyway... Since we're on the subject, I should recommend a decent mouse. I use it and I'm genuinely satisfied. 🙂

I'm not saying I'm recommending some high-end junk. There are mice twice this price. But this one is great for what it costs and it's worth it.
Optical vs. Laser mice: Which is better? in Computer Peripherals ·
Optical mice rely on an LED to track movement, whereas laser mice use a laser beam. The main difference? Laser mice are generally more precise, meaning they offer higher DPI. Another crucial point: optical mice often struggle on glossy or glass surfaces, while laser mice handle them just fine.

What exactly is DPI? It stands for "dots per inch." Essentially, if a mouse has 800 DPI, moving it one inch causes the computer to register 800 dots of movement. Conversely, with a 1600 DPI mouse, moving it one inch results in 1600 dots being registered. In short, to get the same cursor movement on your screen, you have to move the second mouse half as much. Basically, it's more sensitive (or faster).

If you're looking for a solid mouse recommendation at a decent price, I suggest this one (but only if you're right-handed!):

Yeah, no clips or anything else available. Just a single link to the video, just like James Bond villain said...

Like this. When someone makes a post with 3 images, their quote in your editor looks roughly like this:

To get just one image, you simply delete the other two. So, you're left with this:

First off, what you're saying is true, BUT!
If any rule updates happen, I have to be notified so I can accept them again.

I wouldn't know. I'm not a lawyer.

But I'm pretty sure they won't just delete your profile just because you want them to. You can always file a lawsuit to prove they're required to do it. Maybe even win in court. But they won't just delete it on request. At least that’s how it's worked up until now.

Regardless of which rules you agreed to, they both included a clause stating that regulations can be changed without prior notice.

I click the Insert image icon and then paste the image "address" from Imgur.
Where am I going wrong?🤷🤷

The issue is you're grabbing the wrong thing. You aren't using the actual image address; you're using the URL of the webpage where the image happens to be hosted. You're pasting this:
http://s382.imgur.com/albums/o...t=DSCI0977.jpg

Open that link and look on the left. You'll see four yellow boxes. You have two options:

1) Copy the part labeled Direct link, then click the Insert Image button on the forum () and paste that text.

2) Copy the part labeled HTML Code and just paste it directly onto the forum as text, without clicking the Insert Image button.

In both cases, the result is the same:

Every time I try to use this same Imgur link on the HAZELNUT forums, it just shows up as a plain old HTTP link instead of actually displaying the picture like it does here.

I’m still pretty new to this whole scene, so I’ve clearly missed some memo or a specific step along the way. 🤷

Image posting is disabled on this forum. It's stated right there at the bottom left under the "rule of creation" section.

Noah Gray52 said:There used to be this amazing, super organized "HELP" thread here,

I think it was by Desiree,

where on earth did it go?

Which thread are you talking about? This one?
http://www.reddit.com/r/help/showthread.php?t=116963

It’s still around, it just isn't the featured thread anymore. It's too messy. You have to scroll through endless pages just to find a single answer (if you even find one).

That's why we have this main thread now:
http://www.reddit.com/r/help/showthread.php?t=544411
It's actually organized. The first post lists all the common issues along with their fixes and includes links. The old thread is also linked right at the bottom of that first post.

I am repeating myself: this is off-topic for this subforum, and we aren't discussing it here.

If you're interested, post your question on the IT Help Desk subforum.

Austin Barnes3 said:People have talked about this enough, but here's the bottom line—where on earth do you actually enter the URL? All these explanations mean nothing if it just doesn't work (specifically when I'm trying to send an email). Is all this supposed to be typed into some text editor—where exactly??

Good grief, people... 🤦

Look, this subforum exists solely for technical support for this specific website. Everything explained here applies exclusively to this site. It might happen to work somewhere else (like some other message board), but there's no guarantee. The only thing guaranteed is that it works here, on this platform.

So, let me repeat myself. This way of formatting links applies only to this site. It does not apply to, say, emails.

If you're wondering how to format links in an email, that falls under basic computer literacy. If you don't know how to do that, you shouldn't be asking here; go to the IT Help Desk subforum instead:

All these headaches started when the forum migrated to the new server a couple of months ago. It feels like not a single week goes by without someone complaining. I actually got a DM yesterday asking about the exact same thing. Unfortunately, resolving issues on this forum is incredibly slow—if it happens at all. I've pointed out this issue several times over the last few weeks, but there’s zero progress. It's causing massive problems within the Geek Squad subforums. All we can do now is hope it gets fixed soon.

Just put them on Ignore.

If they actually broke a rule in a post or a private message, then file a report ().
