Goodbye, The Ramones :( in Music ·
Why don't those damn teen pop starlets and brainless rappers just get lost... seriously, why... 😕
The biggest scammers in Music ·
So I heard that absolute garbage summer anthem by Bud Light... and honestly? It’s basically just a straight-up rip-off of Smooth Criminal.
And don't even get me started on Nirvana. 😁
What's the best Grunge song? in Music ·
Pearl Jam - Yellow Ledbetter
so... this is how you write it, right?
Metallica & Lenny Kravitz in Music ·
Screw Metallica. They’ve been playing for twenty years and still haven't figured out how to actually play.
Long live Lenny Kravitz.
I bet Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will be there too. I think I'll probably end up going to see Lenny...
What are you listening to? in Music ·
placidotter15 said:So... why do you guys even listen to...
Rock, metal, pop, folk, ska... man, there's just so much out there...

Why am I even bothering with rock here or metal over there... honestly. You can't even put country music and rock in the same sentence, let alone compare them. It’s just not happening...

Scott Wright19 said:I mean... why even bother listening to this absolute garbage?

I don't have a clue... Half my class is obsessed with that garbage, but honestly? It’s just straight-up trash to me. We really need some kind of law to ban it already. There are way too many people from the South coming in here, so I guess that's where the problem starts...

silentharbor88 said:Haven't seen it, but man, I lost it when that Populous guy said those bastards just breed until they're pregnant... kind of sounds like something you'd hear about those little fuzzballs—the Tribbles. 😁 (From Star Trek, in case you haven't caught it.)

Tribbles rock.
watched it with Kirk and then DS9 too. absolute legends. America could really use some of that energy... maybe then guys like Bojan wouldn't be constantly looking for a fight. 😁
Mistake in Godzilla?! in Movies ·
Maybe I should’ve dumped this on a TV forum, but whatever, since it’s here now... 🙂
So, when they finally bail from the hall—you know, right after they crash that plane into the building—they just hop into a taxi. Like, seriously? Did he pull a camera out of his pocket or something else entirely?
We'll Always Remember you Kurt Cobain in Music ·
It’s been ten years since Kurt Cobain, the guy who fronted Nirvana, decided to end it all.

Since nobody seems to be talking about it, I figured I’d drop a little reminder of one of the most impactful musicians from the last decade. Look, I wouldn't call myself a die-hard superfan or anything... but I still respect the hell out of him. 🙏

Kurt We'll Always Remember
you.
Best albums of 2003? in Music ·
Darkness... permission to land? I haven't actually spun this one much, but hey, if they nailed tracks like "I Believe in a Thing Called Love," it’s probably worth a shot...

White Stripes—Elephant. This thing is an absolute masterpiece. Seriously. In twenty years, people are still gonna be talking about this like it changed the game, right up there with those legendary albums that basically defined rock and roll... and honestly, I don't think we'll see anything quite like it again anytime soon. Not unless the White Stripes decide to step back into the studio... 😁 Man, I could listen to this on loop a million times and never get sick of it. 🙏 🙏 🙏🙏🙏

Dream Theater - Train of Thought. Really solid record. You can totally hear Petrucci's genius all over it, and Mike is just showing off his virtuosity like usual... but what's interesting is how James's vocals really step into the spotlight here compared to the earlier stuff. It kind of defines who Dream Theater actually is...

Also, that Led Zeppelin DVD. Haven't had a chance to sit down and watch it yet, but even though money is tight right now, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna spring for the original...

Top 100 songs from 1977 to now in Music ·
man... honestly, I couldn't care less about all these lists. I’m just gonna listen to whatever hits right for me, while everyone else can go ahead and argue until they're blue in the face. eMpTyV is a joke... everything musical these days seems to revolve around him anyway. It feels pretty pointless trying to debate the quality of modern music, though I guess there are always those rare exceptions that just end up proving the rule :<<

urbannomad30 said:The list is... honestly pretty trash. Having 3 R.E.M. tracks in the top 50 is fine, I guess, but they totally skipped over Riverside.
Smells like cheap gin... I mean, it's a decent song, but whatever... nothing special...

Not a single Elvis track in there... just awful...

Don't even get me started, all we need now is some more sensitive types to ruin it. No offense, but that guy sings like he's trying to be Kramer.😁

ironcanyon4 said:man, you're seriously starting to bore me with all this Zeppelin talk... just chill out for a second... I mean, I think they're alright, but you're acting like you hate them or something...

Just when the Great Pretender finally fades away, here you come popping back up!!!😛

Fine, fine, I'll stop before I move on to talking about some random town in Nebraska where nothing ever happens. Everything's just gray and dull and blahhhhhhh...😁

Jeremy Brown11 said:If you're actually paying attention, the absolute best Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin records all dropped before '77.

The List is alright, I guess... doesn't really matter who they put at number one...

Look, it's true that Zeppelin's peak was pre-'77, but honestly? Coda from '82 still blows Nirvana out of the water by like five classes...

Kimberly Cook81 said:Whoever this :asshole: is that put Nirvana at number one on this List should be 🙂
The whole thing is just total garbage...

Yeah, I'm totally with you there. Like, where even is Dream Theater? Or Led Zeppelin? If I remember right, they still had like two more albums left in them back then... and honestly, why am I not even in the top five? 😁
Top 100 songs from 1977 to now in Music ·
Man, this List is total garbage. Honestly, when those high-end magazines put stuff like this together, their only real goal is to sell, sell, and sell some more... just pure marketing fluff. Whatever. No one’s gonna convince me that "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is some kind of masterpiece either...

Justin Taylor said:you really think Dream Theater is gonna be playing on MTV constantly twenty years from now??? yeah right... 🙂 🙂

Yeah. Dream Theater and eMpTVy.

Anyway. Both those bands (Led Zeppelin and Dream Theater) are just brilliant... hard to even categorize them. Still, Led Zeppelin takes the edge for me. Their music... there aren't even words for it...

Hmm...

Led Zeppelin and Dream Theater.
