Basically, I keep getting this sensation like there's something stuck in my rectal area, and it makes me feel like I constantly need to use the bathroom. My bowel movements are actually totally normal—no pain and no blood—it's just that annoying feeling. It gets worse when I'm walking around and settles down when I'm lying still. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Let me know if you need more details.
P.S. Could anxiety trigger these symptoms? I deal with a mild case myself.
Thanks
Sounds like hemorrhoids to me...☕..there's already a thread about that on here.

I've got this lump near my anus with a little purple-blue spot, and it's stinging like crazy. It showed up last night, and I haven't even used the bathroom yet... I'm honestly pretty freaked out here. What should I do? Help me please...
Just take a breath and scroll back through the threads; there’s already plenty of info in there...😉
Don't panic over a little spot. That sounds like a typical external hemorrhoid. Is there anything else specific you can tell us?

Should I call the specialist's office first to book an appointment, or go to my primary care doctor for a referral first? It’s been a while since I’ve dealt with this, and I keep hearing things about doctors booking appointments directly now...
Head to your primary care physician first. They'll give you the referral for the specialist.

You were using all caps... which is basically considered shouting online. It makes things harder to read and slows everyone down. Just wanted to clear that up since people seem to miss the point... that was the issue. 😉

I hate even bringing this up, but I think I’ve developed hemorrhoids. Basically, a hemorrhoid 🙂
There’s one 😁
Right at the exit, and it looks bluish.
The pain and burning are brutal. I can't even take a bathroom break normally, let alone wipe myself up.
It doesn't matter if I use those Zewa wipes—the ones from the commercial where the cats sleep because they're so soft! 😁
Trust me, no matter how soft the tissue is, nothing gets past a hemorrhoid without hurting.
The weird part is that I used to have this issue, then it just vanished. I honestly don't remember when, maybe about 5 months ago.
And now, here we go again. -.-
What really worries me is that there's NO bleeding!!!!! No matter how much pressure I apply, nothing.
I'm pretty sure it's an external one. But yeah... it's just constant pain and stinging.
WHAT NOW? 😁
thanks
Ugh, once you get them... there's not much you can do except buy some ointment. Try Hemopropin (it's great) or Faktu and use it several times a day. Eat more soup and veggies, cut back on soda, red wine, or dry snacks... drink plenty of fluids... stay clean and use wet wipes (
at least while it's flared up and afterwards)... wash the area with lukewarm water (actually, cooler is better)... don't sit for too long and try to stand up and move around... that's basically the gist of it.😉

So, my girlfriend’s friend has been dealing with this intense cough and throwing up two or three times every single day for months now. To make matters worse, she’s got these weird sores or spots on her legs that she keeps treating with iodine. The real issue? She refuses to see a doctor. She’s an international student here in the States, and apparently, there’s some bureaucratic mess regarding how they handle foreign students, which makes things complicated. She could easily head back home to Canada to get checked out since she travels back every weekend, but she won't. She’s stuck in this mindset where she thinks doctors are just scammers out to rip you off, so she’d rather just suffer through it.
I’m telling you, this doesn't look harmless at all. She’s rushing from class straight to her room to throw up, and she can barely handle her martial arts training anymore. She isn't losing weight, but she looks pale and completely drained. To make matters worse, she started taking some random pills a few weeks ago that her boyfriend brought over from Canada—who knows what they actually are or where she's getting them. My girlfriend is her best friend, and it's heartbreaking to watch because she's just so stubborn. I honestly don't know how to convince her to go see a real doctor and get checked out. I have a gut feeling she's going to collapse one day, and by then, it might be too late. 😢
I’m getting more and more worried about where things are headed if this keeps up. Honestly, I'm bracing for the worst.
Any ideas on what might be going on with her? More importantly, how can we actually convince her to go see a doctor? I'm open to any advice you guys have. 😢
When she gets that stubborn, there’s really only one move left: just call 911.

True enough 😉...if that's what you believe
dustymarlin10 said:Alright, I hear you.
But personally? I'm still sticking with being kind...
Me too, unfortunately... but that always ends up costing me. We can save that deep dive for another time, though.😉
dustymarlin10 said:I don't know about that, but I have to disagree: I've learned that just being decent makes life way easier in pretty much any situation—whether it's arguing with a neighbor, dealing with coworkers, talking to a cop, or interacting with medical staff. Besides, I'm not exactly a kid anymore (I'm 45), and I've been in plenty of situations where I or someone in my family needed medical help, and the experience was positive enough that I don't think my recent run-in was some freak outlier.
Anyway, I'm with Angela Wright on this one—the system needs to CHANGE FROM WITHIN, driven by the pressure from all the honest, good people out there.
I think you're missing the point... the "extreme" isn't your hospital visit; it's the case of a drunk guy where doctors simply can't be polite. If someone shows up intoxicated or aggressive, the doctor might have to match that energy just to manage them... hopefully, you see what I mean. As for the whole kindness thing, I won't even comment—that's subjective. But in life, that attitude often comes at a cost. A kind word doesn't always open doors, at least not here in the States.
To build on what dustymarlin10 just said... my dad is an incredibly polite guy, especially when it comes to doctors. He has this massive amount of respect for them—honestly, I’d say he overdoes it sometimes. But clearly, that hasn't paid off; having that kind of attitude doesn't actually mean much to medical staff. What you described is definitely an extreme case, and naturally, the staff isn't going to bow down to him; if anything, they'll just focus more on the work and talk less.
I’m really glad a doctor started this thread...😉
So, here’s the deal... my dad is dealing with some health issues, so we’ve been spending a ton of time at the hospital, moving between different departments. To cut to the chase... the staff has been incredibly unpleasant. Honestly, it's been a disaster. At one ER, I couldn't believe the things a "doctor" would actually say to you. We ran into the exact same attitude at another ER in a different department. Look, I get it—being a doctor isn't an easy gig and I truly respect the profession. You have to be a lifelong learner and maintain top grades just to get through the door, which limits the field to a specific kind of person. The training is grueling and never really ends. But that doesn't give anyone a pass to be rude, dismissive, or downright obnoxious. A perfect example? Some of these young residents. They barely even start their practice and they're already acting like they own the place. Just the other day, I witnessed a total mess in the hallway where about six doctors were standing around. Their behavior toward patients was appalling, and they were basically just slacking off on the job. It’s one of those moments that sticks with you forever. Naturally, there have been plenty of other incidents, but that was the breaking point for me. Now, I see them as just any other profession—just regular people. I think I put them on too high a pedestal before, but not anymore. It’s not that I hate them; it's just that they're ordinary people who don't need a crown. Obviously, I don't mean everyone, but it feels like the majority fall into this category. And the rest of the medical staff isn't much better, but I won't go down that rabbit hole. I could write a whole book on this, but it wouldn't change a thing. When I tell people about what happens in these hospitals, they aren't even surprised—they all have their own horror stories. Everyone is just fed up. It’s shameful, really. Instead of being role models, they’re showing the absolute worst side of themselves. I actually have a surgery coming up soon, and while nothing is set in stone, I’m definitely going to a private clinic. If everyone did that, maybe the standard for citizens would actually improve, though who knows when that will happen. Honestly, some of this nonsense has even decreased lately due to certain connections or "inside tracks," but if it weren't for that, things would be even worse. Look, doctors: everyone respects your hard work and your education, but this lack of professionalism and arrogance is lower than the standard of someone without any training at all. I'm posting this because I'm just tired of thinking about people wearing white coats and stethoscopes.👎
gentlescout10 said:I don't really have an issue with it... It doesn't flare up... and even if it does, it’s minor... you can barely see it. Honestly, I'm more traumatized by the surgery I had last year (pilonidal sinus), so now everything just makes me nervous.
Which cream are you talking about specifically? FactSet???
PS
I'll probably head to the doctor since I don't mind those kinds of visits... 🙂 there's no shame in it, health comes first.
You definitely went through more than I did... that sounds rough. I can sit normally without any issues... though I still have that nagging feeling that something isn't quite right... mostly just in my head.
Yeah, either FactSet... or better yet, Hemopropin (it's plant-based)... that's what I use.
Just go see a doctor then, because chemical stuff can be pretty nasty...🙄
Good luck...👍
gentlescout10 said:Does that stuff just clear up on its own eventually? I'm not seeing any of the usual symptoms mentioned here... usually, hemorrhoids turn blue and hurt if you touch them, but this isn't blue and it doesn't hurt... it's just there being annoying...
I had the exact same thing happen... except I didn't even realize what it was at first. I wasn't even looking at it, and it wasn't bothering me one bit... then suddenly while I was at work, it started stinging and aching... I got home and realized, "Oh, it's hemorrhoids."😲 (It was my first time ever dealing with this, so it was a bit of a shock), and by the next day at work, things had really flared up...😲, total disaster. I couldn't even walk, let alone work. Luckily, my job allowed me to head home since they could cover my shift... ever since then, it's been a constant battle. I've kept up with creams and hygiene, but it flares up again and again. It's okay right now, but not 100%, so if it acts up again, I'll wait for it to calm down and then look into surgery. I'm still debating whether to go through a public hospital (traditional surgery) or find a private clinic for laser treatment....😕
If I were you, I'd start using some cream just to be safe, or better yet, just see a doctor to get a real diagnosis...
gentlescout10 said:Can anyone explain what might be going on here...
Basically, about a week ago, I noticed a little bump right at the opening—maybe half a centimeter wide—and there’s something hard inside it... it actually moves around. It isn't inflamed or painful, but it’s annoying because it feels like I'm sitting on a small marble...🙂
Also, about two inches away from the area on my right side, there's this tiny little lump under the skin. It's hard too, but it's not swollen at all and doesn't bother me. If I press it, it turns a bit bluish, but it's really firm.
Thanks.
Sounds like hemorrhoids to me. That's how it started for me too... but once they get inflamed? Man, you aren't ready.😲

It might just be the weather, or maybe you're getting too much—or too little—sleep. I've been feeling pretty drowsy myself lately. Don't sweat it, though; it’s nothing serious. Your brain is probably just craving a little more oxygen.

No, this isn't the place for lighthearted banter; I need actual answers, not jokes. A week ago, I underwent reconstructive surgery to fix the scarring left behind by an appendectomy. It was necessary because everything was a mess due to a surgeon’s error during my initial appendix removal. The doctor who operated on me last week ended up excising everything—skin, subcutaneous tissue, muscle, and the peritoneum—before closing the wound in two layers. He didn't use stitches on the skin; instead, he used medical adhesive strips.
So, here is the question: how do you actually get these strips off, and does it hurt? Also, when is it safe to be intimate with a partner without risking my recovery?
You're thinking about sex before you've even recovered...🙄
Just wait until everything settles down from the surgery and heals up properly...
William Anderson46 said:I’m heading in for surgery tomorrow. Honestly, reading stuff about it makes me pretty nervous, but I can't put this off any longer. It's been weighing on me for years, so I just have to grit my teeth and get through it.
Good luck...👍 once you're feeling better, drop us a line and let us know how everything went...
Susan Chase74 said:Thanks! It looks like I'm going to be a regular here. 😢
I’ve been washing constantly with the coldest water possible...
One more thing though—that little damn hemorrhoid, does it actually burst or just shrink back down?
Don't go using freezing water... stick to lukewarm, or maybe just slightly cool rather than hot. That's what worked for me. As for the hemorrhoid, it shrinks back down. It doesn't really "burst" unless you're pushing yourself way too hard, but since you're a woman, that's likely not an issue for you. Everyone reacts differently to these things, though. For some, it clears up in a week and stays gone. For others, it disappears and then keeps coming back. In my case, it goes away, then flares up again whenever I'm working heavy shifts or dealing with the cold. Honestly, I'm looking into laser surgery because dealing with the inflammation is just exhausting. Glad you found a good cream; that honey-based one is solid, I use it too. Also, try using wet wipes after you use the bathroom. Cut back on the soda and red wine (I love red wine, but I had two bottles out last week and it was an immediate disaster). Stick to more soup, and don't sit or stand for too long without taking breaks.

I dealt with my first bout of hemorrhoids yesterday (1), so I ran straight to CVS to grab some cream! Now I'm wondering how long this lasts—is it five days, or am I looking at a month?
Uh... well, it could clear up in a few days or take a month... man, once you're dealing with that, it’s such a pain to get rid of....🙄Just keep applying the cream two or three times a day and stay on top of your hygiene...
