Lexapro isn't actually an SSRI
Drew Miller48 said:Here is the situation. Most of you are already familiar with my case, but for those who aren't, check my previous posts. The core issue is my elevated blood pressure.
I was recently at the cardiology clinic over at Draskovic to review my ECG results. The doctor told me my heart looks fine, just beating slightly fast. I told him I already knew that—I get anxious about all of this, and whenever I start measuring, I can actually feel my heart racing. Now, here is the other thing: whenever I mention wanting to stop taking my medication (Amlodipine/Hydrochlorothiazide), people act like I’ve lost my mind. They claim my pressure will spike and go through the roof. I am honestly fed up with these condescending doctors who seem more interested in pushing pills than listening.
Right now, my home readings are showing 132/78 with a pulse of 72. Yet, just two hours ago while I was downtown at the doctor's office, it hit 160/110 with a pulse of 98. Despite that, he tells me there is no reason to stop and that I actually need to take two of those a day. I told him no, and that is that. My current readings suggest there is another underlying cause, because I know my baseline isn't that high.
For context, I used to weigh 240 lbs and lived a pretty sedentary lifestyle. Things have changed completely. I’ve dropped down to 176 lbs, I'm eating much healthier—lots of fruits and vegetables—and whenever I check my pressure, it stays around 135/80, give or take five points.
I am at a loss for what to do next. They are referring me to the Mayo Clinic for specialized blood pressure testing (some specific department, I'm not sure which one). I'll have to wear a Holter monitor and undergo several tests. We will see what happens, though I personally think this is all unnecessary. My only goal is to reduce this medication regimen and stop taking them entirely, because I feel great. Just yesterday, for instance, I had a sudden headache, blurred vision, and some shimmering in my sight; I ended up taking two 5mg doses of Normabel to manage it. That doesn't happen to me very often.

Alme is just a herbal supplement, so there really isn't any connection to sildenafil at all...
Has anyone tried Piracetam? (Nootropics) in Health ·
The whole idea that Piracet works isn't really backed up by any independent clinical trials, which kind of leaves its actual effectiveness up in the air...

This may seem like an absurd inquiry, though I believe there is logic to be found in it; I simply struggle to frame the question more elegantly.

Just grab some Claritin and see if that does the trick—if it helps, then you’re definitely dealing with allergies...

melloworca6 said:So I just found out that those chewable or melt-away probiotics aren't really meant to be swallowed whole... I guess it's because they're designed to get absorbed right there in the mouth instead of waiting to hit the stomach or the gut. That's why I was thinking there shouldn't be any big deal if you just let the chewables dissolve in your mouth too, since they mix with your saliva anyway and some of it should technically absorb through the oral lining while you're chewing... 🤷

there is absolutely no way any significant amount is getting absorbed in your mouth

I was wondering if anyone here has actually tried TARGINACT tablets before?...

Like, what dosage are you guys on, do they actually work for you, how long have you been taking them, any weird side effects or anything else I should know about...

Thanks, catch ya later

Wait, how did you even manage to get your hands on those pills in the first place?

Taylor Garcia30 said:Which ones do you guys think actually work? I keep hearing everyone talk about Lactogyn tablets versus Vagisan suppositories... if my flora is totally out of whack and I need to get things back to normal, which one is faster and more effective? Like, since Vagisan is a seven-day thing but you take Lactogyn for longer... should I even be trying to use both at the exact same time? Could that actually make things worse?...

Honestly, just go with the suppositories... those tablets feel like such a total scam to me...

Dana Cruz3 said:I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction regarding where I can pick up some Imodium here in the States? To be more specific, I'm currently based in San Francisco. Also, does anyone have much firsthand experience using this particular medication? Thanks so much!

You can find it in pretty much any pharmacy, even there in San Francisco. They might call it something like Seldiar depending on the brand, and you might need a prescription for certain versions... I haven't personally used it myself, but from what I've heard, it really does the trick...
Nature's Bounty review? in Health ·
Honestly, there’s just no such thing as a guaranteed way to boost your immunity... though I have to admit, that specific therapy sounds a bit overhyped if you ask me...
You can always find much more affordable options out there, like the NK-Cell from Nature's Bounty which uses those same Japanese mushrooms (250-$100), or maybe even that Immunity Booster from Twin Lab, or even Solgar’s beta glucan...
Kyle Reyes50 said:thanks for all the input everyone... honestly I just tossed the whole thing in the trash yesterday 🙂

Man, you really should have taken it down to a pharmacy so they could deal with it properly... meds are basically hazardous waste and you definitely shouldn't be just tossing them in the garbage!
Kyle Reyes50 said:hey there! i was just wondering if it's actually dangerous to take some Sumamed if the expiration date passed a while ago (like 10/10), or is it still okay to use...

It’s not gonna hurt you, but honestly, you aren't really going to get the full strength you need once it's been sitting there for a whole year past the date... usually, most meds stay pretty potent for about 6 months after they expire, though there are always a few exceptions out there 👍
