For instance, individuals with highly expressive faces who occasionally betray a hint of nervousness or bashfulness strike a chord with us; they mirror those very emotions that we typically strive to conceal within ourselves, much like when someone simply approaches us with true friendliness.
I’ve noticed this too. For example, I’ve realized that when more people are performing in front of an audience, the crowd usually responds much better to those who make a small mistake and can laugh at themselves. It’s the same way in social circles. I think we gravitate toward people who show vulnerability; it means they aren't putting on an act, which makes us feel like we don't have to put on an act around them either.
Personally, I’m drawn to regular, honest people—those who show their flaws and approach things that are unfamiliar with genuine curiosity instead of immediately judging them just because it doesn't fit their usual mold.
