Man, thank God I decided to pass on Martin... ended up playing right into the hands of the Clippers and the Bulls 🙂
It was basically Parker's masterclass in basketball school—trading those looks for Westbrook, hitting 42 shots, dishing out 9 assists, and zero turnovers 🙏
Hey, where you been, analoghound21?! Haven't seen you around in a bit... getting buried at work or something? 🤷 And seriously, don't go copying Gerald Martin's over/under ☕ 🤣
I didn't even catch what was happening with the Clippers—1.35 against the Wizards (if Charles Barkley had his way) is... well, maybe 😁
Here's the take from James Taylor3, now I feel like I have to grab Oklahoma City Thunder too 😬 Just a quick heads-up, though—they've got Sefolosha listed as doubtful...
Keith Moore21 said:Rajon Rondo over 15.5 Gerald Martin over 23.5 Stoudemire under 21.5
2/3 system, if 2 hit you get your stake back☕
Well, screw that—Martin only played 17 minutes and ended up with just 16 points... And Rajon Rondo finished with 10...
🙂 🙂
edit: for today, I'm going again with Gerald Martin over 23.5... I mentioned how much he played yesterday, so fatigue shouldn't be an issue, I guess... Ideally, Luke Ridnour should be guarding him—at least at the start—since defense is basically a foreign concept to him, so I’m expecting maybe 10 points right out of the gate in the first quarter... Plus, the Minnesota Timberwolves are pretty weak at defending the perimeter, and I don't see any massive blowouts happening either (unlike yesterday when the Houston Rockets were up by 20 at halftime and things just fell apart)... so Gerald Martin should get decent minutes...
Terry over 15.5 I'm thinking maybe Martin over 23.5... just a hunch, I guess. I’m thinking Stoudemire under 21.5—just a hunch, I guess. Maybe he’ll hit it, but I'm leaning towards him staying under that line.
So, I was looking at this 2/3 system thing—basically, you’re picking three outcomes, and if two of them hit, you get your money back. It’s a bit of a safety net, I guess... maybe? It feels like one of those setups where you're basically just trying to break even while hoping for that third leg to actually land so you can finally see some profit. It’s definitely a more laid-back way to play if you aren't looking to go all-in on a single crazy parlay, though I'm still debating if the math actually works out in your favor in the long run. Just a thought. ☕
Keith Moore21 said:ugh, so today I'm betting the under on Magic Johnson (20.5), Amar'e Stoudemire (20.5), and Tim Duncan (13.5)—running a 2/3 system, so whatever happens, happens ☕
only Magic actually hit the under 😢
It’s honestly wild how I somehow manage to pick the absolute best games of the season for certain players (looking at you, Stoudemire)... and now even Duncan decides to go 7-for-7 from the field right when I'm praying for an under... 🙂
James Taylor3 said:Man, this whole situation with the Portland Trail Blazers isn't looking great—we're all eyeing that same bet. 🤣 Well, look, based on exactly those reasons you just laid out, I might actually take the Denver Nuggets. 🤷
I'm definitely not betting on Portland, which basically means they're a lock to cover. 😉 🤣
ironwalker4 said:Does anyone have a link for player stats and how often they hit the over/under compared to the lines? Or is someone actually tracking that?
Personally, I only track the stuff I'm actually putting money on—trying to dig through every single stat mid-season feels like a massive chore, honestly. 🙂
I usually just stick to NBA.com or HoopsStats... but yeah, as for who’s hitting the over/under consistently, I haven't a clue. 🤷 Nicholas Chase34 might be the guy to ask about that. 😉
Lawrence Castillo76 said:I’m still seeing people betting the over when 60% of the games end up being an under—if that's even still the case.
Sorry, but what does that even have to do with anything?! 🤷
Look, you bet the over if you think that specific outcome is going to land, and you take the under if you think *that* is what's happening. It’s not about some broad, general statistic—it’s about the squad someone is playing for, who they're facing, current form, injuries, and all that jazz... every single game is its own beast. I mean, look at yesterday—plenty of overs hit, especially for the guys we were all chatting about here on the forum, like Chris Paul, Tony Parker, Gerald Martin, John Williams, or Andre Iguodala... even Blake Griffin, Tim Duncan, Russell Westbrook, Baron Davis, and Danny Granger all cleared their overs.
Shoutout to Keith Moore21 for the input. I just decided to cut that much-hated Boozer from the mix... personally, I don't have anything against the guy—he actually came in handy for me during one of those NBA Live series. ☕
Anyway, I was thinking about throwing in a few more spreads, but let's not get too nitpicky about it.
Keith Moore21 said:Looking at the whole spread, I'm just gonna play the players—doing a 3/4 system with a higher stake
everything went over—D-Will, Parker, Martin, and Boozer☕
only Boozer totally screwed me, but hey, that's why it was a system bet, so the payout ended up being slightly more than the stake☕
LeBron James is still doing his usual thing—just padding his stats through the first three quarters, then completely running out of gas in the fourth☕ while Jennings 🙏
Lawrence Castillo76 said:Honestly, looking at the board right now, I’ve already locked in two singles—Philly-Chicago over 1 and 2, just 2.1, plus Rubio under 12.5 for Germany. Still holding off on the Rozan under 15.5 though, gotta see if Giannis actually suits up first.
Giannis definitely isn't playing... at least from what I’ve managed to dig up...
So, out of this whole spread, I think I'm gonna stick to player props—maybe a 3/4 system with a lower stake.
Going all in on the overs—D-Will, Parker, Martin, and Boozer.☕
James Taylor3 said:AgentMan, I swear—whenever the two of us end up playing the same pair, things just go sideways. It’s like we’re cursed or something, I guess. 🙂 🤣
So, I woke up in the middle of the night to catch the second half—man, those Indians were absolutely tearing it up, pulling ahead by like 18 points with maybe seven or eight minutes left on the clock. But then, somehow, they just sort of fell apart... honestly, they barely scraped by with a win in the end. Total nail-biter. 🙂
I’m gonna absolutely wreck these incompetent hacks. 🙂 I caught most of the game and honestly, I’m still trying to wrap my head around it—how the hell did the Nets, playing two men down, blow a lead that badly and almost let it slip away? I mean, sure, you've got D-Will—who, let's be real, probably runs better plays than CP3 at this point—but then there's Morrow... and man, just... what was that? Seriously, wtf. 🤷
So, what's the move for today? I'm thinking about throwing down a counter—might just end up handing someone else a win, I guess. 🤣
Look, I’m not about to sit here and write some massive, deep-dive tactical breakdown just to drop a single pick, so I'll just leave it right here
Indiana -9.5
Honestly? Indiana is looking absolutely stacked—I mean, aside from Foster being out for the whole season, obviously—and they play their hearts out at home. They’ve been taking down much tougher squads than the Nets, who are basically bottom-feeders in the league right now anyway. To make things even better for Indy, Brooklyn is showing up without 4 or 5 key guys; they already lost Lopez, and now they’ve got decent rookies like Brooks, plus Stevenson and Okur on the injury report... basically, it's almost their entire starting lineup missing. I don't see it being an issue for the home team at all. I’m thinking we're looking at at least a 15 or 20 point blowout...
So by that logic, I guess Shaq was barely good enough for the NBA either, unless you factor in him being 7 feet tall and weighing 330 pounds—because let's be real, his free throws were absolutely pathetic... I mean, wtf 😕 By that same token, if we're talking defense, I’d probably put Dwight Howard in the top 5 centers of all time... strictly for the defensive side of things. For the offensive stuff? Yeah, I'm with you, he still has a ton of work to do—Andrew Bynum was actually better there. On the other hand, I honestly gotta admire how Howard hasn't knocked someone out yet, considering how much he gets beat up. I mean, seriously, some team recently was intentionally hacking him so hard—and even when he didn't have the ball, just as soon as Orlando swapped centers, he ended up setting a record for missed free throws... you can't play like that, man, you can't just play so sporadically...
James Taylor3 said:Man, looking at that video Scrum posted, I totally get why you’re hitting back at him. 🤣
I mean, dunking right over some guy who's gotta be at least 7'1" (not 100% sure, but I think I read somewhere that Weiss was that tall)... 🙏
Yeah, something like that—7'1", maybe 7'2"... whatever, if he's 7'0", still, dunking over a guy like that 😲 is just insane, seriously. 🤣 And paired with that 720 dunk? Honestly, that might be the best dunk I've ever seen...
