Film Forum in Movies ·
Just spent some time scrolling through the Film Forum site and saw absolutely nothing under announcements... Come on, give us some updates (or at least promise you'll actually show up here regularly to let us know what's coming) 😉

Look, I’ve got my work cut out for me with Einstein here. Why don't you be a pal and explain what you were thinking when you wrote this:

'And she’s like Natalie Portman, falling asleep over this crap from Star Wars.🙄 '

thanks.
Diana: A Documentary Film in Movies ·
Yeah, killer documentary. If I recall correctly, it played at SXSW in Austin last year.

The best part: when they explain why Alcatel phones are actually the best. 😁

Jesus, what a comparison... just go ahead and pull the trigger already. Right now.

thanks.

Great thread! Here's a random one I always think of after a night out: Sean Penn playing Sergeant Edward Welsh in 'The Thin Red Line'.

Well, I did... 🙄 😁

And honestly, here's a little more for the laughs 🙂

Where'd you find it?

No clue, but I spent ages Googling to find an avatar that actually fit the site specs and my own vibe 😉

Elizabeth Sanchez2 said:But saying you've only seen one movie just proves you haven't really watched much.

I don't know, feels like you're talking about peaches while I'm talking about plums... of course you're answering from your own perspective based on how many movies you've actually sat through. Some people have seen a ton, some haven't.
Besides, with questions like this, you're trying to cram everything into a single title... frankly, for one person it's 'Meet Joe Black,' for another it's 'The Big Blue,' and for someone else, it's 'The Godfather.'

Go on, explain.

(to get ahead of you a bit)
Sure, there are plenty of great films out there and you can find pieces of yourself in all of them, but... sometimes a single movie just hits home. It’s like reading your own definition. Plus, she only asked for one title right off the bat, not a top 5 or top 10 list.

Alright, my turn:

The Thin Red Line, Terrence Malick.

Fair point. She didn't have a massive body count, but she definitely left a trail...

.. and while we're on the subject, Douglas Boy really went through the wringer with her... 😁

@ zeljkoo: check out 'Samurai Fiction (Episode One)' by Hiroyuki Nakano (1998). It’s a gritty samurai flick, though maybe not in the way you'd typically expect 😉 (you can find it on torrent sites)

@ everyone else: has anyone actually seen the original? It gets pretty confusing at times, but honestly, it borders on incomprehensible... as for the remake—no clue. Haven't seen it, but since Connery is in it, it probably won't be too hard to sit through (😍 )

So, what, dad, mom, and her manager are just bribing local radio stations to play her tracks? 🙄

Anyway, since we're talking about buff guys and their photos, remember this one?

Good old Bolo Yeung... 😁

northerncrane4 said:Fair point. Instead of looking like an idiot asking things like "Why isn't the ocean flooding the coast?", I'll just try to find the answer in the right places. Something you seem too lazy to do.

Well, forums are basically built for idiots. Why bother spending thirty minutes surfing the web and actually using your brain to do some basic math when you can just dump whatever random thought pops into your head, knowing there will be a bunch of local experts standing by with canned answers?

Sly’s got that punchy presence, that half-articulated grunt, and a look that's just...

And how about his poor wife, constantly being dragged out of bed by this nosy public!?
