Watched it yesterday and, honestly, I walked away feeling pretty let down. Based on all the hype and comments floating around here, I was expecting something that actually topped the first one. But in reality? It’s just another movie that, unlike the original, fails to bring anything new to the table. I’ve seen a mountain of films with this exact same setup—just one guy taking on the system. Look, it’s a decent enough watch, but it doesn't come close to the first one.

I don't even follow him, so...
but I honestly can't explain it—I was absolutely livid afterward....

I haven't actually sat down to watch Winter's bon yet, but I did make my way through the first page of this thread. ☕

He wanted to be absolutely certain the demon wouldn't survive. If you shot him in the head, the entity might have stayed alive for a bit after him—maybe ten minutes, maybe half an hour—and then someone shows up and the demon escapes (which is basically what happened anyway, just through a different route).

That's about all I remember.

I’m inclined to agree here. Honestly, if it weren't for the movies, I wouldn't have the slightest clue who Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, or Mickey Mantle even were. Even Ty Cobb—who doesn't get nearly enough screen time elsewhere—has his own movie to keep him relevant.😁

If you're talking about that final in Portugal, I thought Dzomba was the standout performer. As for the Athens final, I'm not even sure who stood out most. I went back and rewatched both games the other day.

It always brings me back to this one match during the EU tournament. It was Sweden against Denmark. There was only one specific scoreline that kept both sides in the running, and that was a 2-2 tie. Any other result and both teams would've been kicked to the curb. So, naturally, it ended 2-2. Just those typical Scandinavian types and their legendary "honor."

Not like an Italian would ever dream of pulling something like that. ☕

So, following that logic, shouldn't there be four total instead of three?

You probably can't use all three in one half. That's my take on it, anyway. You've got to call at least one timeout during the first half. 🤷

Look, here’s my take: the French national handball team—they’ve managed to sweep Olympic, European, and World gold. You can hear people make that claim constantly. Does anyone ever talk about soccer national teams that way? No. They say "World Champion" or "European Champion," and that’s where it ends. In soccer, Olympic gold doesn't carry nearly as much prestige, even if you have a few older players still chasing that one last trophy.

And nothing. I wasn't trying to diminish anyone or blow anyone out of proportion. I just said the gap is much wider, that's all. I've watched every handball championship our national team has played in for ages, going back to Portugal. I follow the Washington, D.C. team in international play since the Teka and Wallau days (to be fair, I've tuned in less over the last decade, though I caught every match this year and last). I don't follow our domestic league and, frankly, I couldn't care less (just like any other handball league). I'm not some die-hard fanatic, nor do I understand handball nearly as well as I do soccer, which was—and will always be—the number one sport in this country.
As for what you say about "comforting ourselves," I can take my comforts where I want. We both know exactly what constitutes success and what's a failure.

EDIT: By the way, soccer is probably the only sport where a medal from the World Cup or the EP is actually worth more than an Olympic medal. National soccer teams don't even show up to the Olympics with their strongest possible rosters.

I don't go to the gym. Ever. I'm not judging you for hitting the weights, nor do I care how much your membership costs, but I find it odd that you're so preoccupied with my physique. I stay active recreationally—mostly playing soccer. To me, that’s a hell of a lot more interesting than scaling walls.
Back in elementary school, even skipping a couple of steps and grabbing a handrail felt like a high-stakes stunt. Now? I just walk up the stairs like a normal person.

The Number 23 isn't a bad movie at all. And you absolutely have to watch Lost Highway. Seriously, if nothing else, it’s worth it just for one of the most intense scenes ever put on film (featuring Bill Pullman and Robert Blake).

Not every flick deals with time travel, but they’re all solid. Most of them either force you to really strain your brain or deliver a killer twist at the end. I’m betting you’ve seen most of these, but if there's one you missed, consider this a recommendation. As for Primer, honestly, I don't think anyone actually wraps their head around that one on the first watch.
