I always dreamed of having children, though I honestly never imagined marriage would be part of the equation. As it turns out, both happened, and I couldn't be happier about it. I have one little one right now, but I think I’d love to have two more eventually. Whenever I see a pregnant woman, I find myself feeling a bit envious—and I feel that same longing when I see mothers with their tiny babies. My little one seems to be growing up so incredibly fast, almost too quickly, I guess.😍
Honestly, I’ve been struggling to get even a wink of sleep for three days straight now, neither at night nor during the day. I feel like a total zombie just wandering around my house, and my eyes are stinging so badly that it's getting hard to even see clearly, yet sleep feels completely out of reach.
Keith Harris, you said everything I’ve been struggling with and everything I would have written myself! You mentioned how much you absolutely love bread and that you just can't live without it. I used to feel exactly the same way, but honestly, I haven't had even a single crumb in about two weeks now. I initially tried substituting it with toast, but lately, I've even moved away from that—only having it once in a while. It’s strange, because I don't miss it constantly anymore; it doesn't feel like such an intense craving. I still love the taste, I really do, but I've stopped eating it because it just sits so poorly with me compared to other foods. It seems to be the one thing that consistently makes me feel bloated or heavy. For me, the issue with bread is actually much more bothersome than my cravings for sweets ever were.
So, I started getting my period this past Wednesday, but by today, it’s basically completely gone! On Friday and through yesterday, it was so light that I was honestly just using daily liners. I can't quite wrap my head around it, because I’ve never really experienced anything like this before, except maybe back when I was on birth control. It’s just so strange. It wasn't even particularly heavy compared to how it's been over the last two months, either. Usually, it never lasts less than seven days, so this feels very out of the ordinary for me.
Alex Williams8 said:coppermarlin14, are you absolutely certain that a carnivore diet is really your best bet for dropping weight (I think I saw someone mentioning this on another thread)? Even if you do manage to lose the pounds, I’m honestly worried you might end up gaining them all back three times over during your pregnancy... and that's not even getting into my personal thoughts on whether that diet is actually considered "healthy" in the first place... 🤷
Oh, don't worry, I don't plan on sticking to this for very long! If I'm lucky, maybe I can make it through seven days? Honestly, I doubt I'll even last that long. But I figured once I start seeing the scale move, I'll have more motivation to stay away from bread. That's really why I picked this—I swear, bread is my absolute weakness, even though I love it so much!😉
Oh, absolutely! And let's not forget to mention that once we’ve all managed to lose the baby weight, we should probably start a new thread dedicated specifically to pregnancy nutrition—you know, focusing on how to manage weight gain and dietary needs. We could use that space to share what we're eating and talk about any cravings or struggles we're facing along the way. As for me, I honestly didn't have a bad experience at all during my first pregnancy; there weren't any rough days, and I didn't deal with any morning sickness whatsoever. It was actually quite easy!
Oh, thank you all so much for the encouragement😍! I’m actually aiming to get started in about two months. Since I stopped taking birth control just a month ago, I think it’s probably best to give my system about three months to fully clear out those hormones first. That gives me a nice two-month window before I dive in, which feels right. But honestly, I’m not really going to commit unless I can drop at least 20 pounds or so!😢 I actually know someone who loses weight like crazy during pregnancy—she gets so thin, almost frail—but then she gains it all back once the baby arrives. She eats so much, yet she barely touches anything throughout her entire pregnancy and ends up losing maybe 25 or 30 pounds. It’s truly incredible, really.
Honestly, when I eventually get pregnant, someone needs to just lock me in a room for all nine months. They’ll have to feed me one tiny bite at a time and keep me strictly indoors—that might be the only way I actually succeed!😂 Ugh, it's terrible. That's exactly why I'm trying to lose weight right now, because if I don't, I feel like I've already messed things up too much!
Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience because during my first pregnancy, I ended up gaining about 55 pounds. It was honestly a struggle—I felt like I couldn't stop eating! Anything within reach seemed to disappear instantly. After I gave birth, I was still carrying about 30 pounds of extra weight, and then after I started eating normally again, I gained another 11 pounds on top of that. I managed to drop down to 172 pounds for a while, but now I'm back up to 187. I really want to have another baby soon, but I’m honestly terrified of what might happen to my weight this time around. If I don't get this under control, I could easily hit 260 pounds! My goal is to get down to at least 165 pounds, though my ultimate target would be closer to 143. I’m really hoping I won't see that kind of weight gain during my next pregnancy! I’m going to try my best to stay mindful this time. Looking back, I think I was eating way too much bread—it was like I was an elephant! I figure if I can just cut out the heavy carbs and stop snacking after 6 PM, things should go much more smoothly.
How much would you say two bananas are actually worth? Like, is that enough to last a whole day or what? It really gets on my nerves when I go over to a friend's house or just head out for coffee, and they immediately clear the table with these massive platters of cookies and pastries... Honestly, could you maybe just put those away? I feel like if I'm just there for a cup of coffee, I'm not looking to sit there and feast like a maniac. One little pastry on the plate should be plenty; the rest can stay tucked away in the kitchen.

Unfortunately, so many women go through the tragedy of losing a child, but they tend to stay silent about it (it's something you just have to process internally). I suppose I hope that one day I will hold my own little angel in my arms, and perhaps this angel who didn't make it into this world will watch over me—protecting their mother—and someone for whom I will always offer a prayer.
Sending love,
Oh, Susan, this truly touched my heart. I can't even begin to imagine how difficult all of this has been for you. It's just heartbreaking. From the bottom of my heart, I hope you get to hold your little angel very soon.
In any case, taking that medication three times a day sounds like quite a bit. I would suggest just taking it as needed, perhaps only when you're actually trying to get to sleep, or maybe even just taking half a dose if your main goal is simply to calm down a little bit. Personally, I found that Normabell didn't really work for me; instead of helping me relax, it seemed to make me feel even more on edge than before. Whenever I'm dealing with PMS, I usually take a 3 mg Lexaurin at night because I can go three or four days without being able to sleep properly, so I find that helps me manage.
Look, I don't think you need to force yourself to drink that much water; maybe just stick to drinking when you actually feel thirsty. Honestly, three times a day seems like quite a bit!

And how much should you be taking? Is it just on an as-needed basis, or do you have a specific dosage prescribed by your doctor? I suspect it’s pretty difficult to develop a dependency on something like this, especially if you only take it when you actually feel the need for it. I used to take Lexington at the 3 mg dose quite a while ago, mainly because I was going through an incredibly rough patch and just needed something to help me sleep. At one point, I was even prescribed Normabel, but honestly, I wouldn't touch it—it just didn't seem to do anything for me. I never became reliant on it, though I did take it occasionally whenever it felt necessary.
This is such a great topic! I’m actually planning to start trying for a baby soon, but I’ve got about 30 pounds of extra weight I’d really like to lose first. My goal is to get healthy before I even think about conceiving. During my first pregnancy, I ended up gaining around 45 to 50 pounds, and now I’m sitting at about 185 pounds—which is 30 pounds over where I want to be. Honestly, I just can't seem to stick to any kind of diet lately. I feel like I’m acting completely irrational; I just eat whatever is in front of me without a second thought. It’s a bit overwhelming. I guess I’m just worried that if I get pregnant while I’m at this weight, I’ll easily end up crossing the 220-pound mark. I was probably being a bit reckless with myself during my last pregnancy and let the weight creep up way more than I intended. It felt like I was eating everything in sight, almost like I had never seen real food before.
