Just send it already, for crying out loud 😁

You can take it, just please don't go over 80-$33 for her 🙂

Could work...

AMD FX-6300 box 3.5GHz - 14MB Cache - 95W BOX
2x Crucial 4GB CL11
Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P motherboard
Cosmo Cool LC-CC-95 - CPU cooler
Sapphire Radeon R9 280 Dual-X 3gb GDDR5 Graphics Card
be quiet! system Power 7 500W

~$1367

EDIT: You just edited your post 😁

Anyway, if you went with that previous setup featuring the 8-core processor, I guess you could just pop in an Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 CO.

It’s really not that bad... I have a buddy who streams on Twitch using much weaker hardware, and even with a triple monitor setup at 5760x1080, he only runs into stutters once in a while.

The parts I’ve put together should cover just about everything anyway—streaming, heavy multitasking, gaming, rendering, you name it.

Oof, this thing is completely unbalanced. The motherboard is overpriced, the power supply is overkill, the GPU is too weak, and the CPU has integrated graphics that honestly won't do anything at all. Give me a minute 🙂

EDIT:

2x Crucial 4GB CL11
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P motherboard
Sapphire Radeon R9 280 Dual-X 3gb GDDR5 Graphics Card
be quiet! system Power 7 600w AMD FX 8320
AMD FX 8320E X8 16MB 3,5GHz

~$1633 Newegg

An 8-core processor (which is key for streaming), a much stronger graphics card, a really solid cooler and motherboard ready for overclocking, plus a decent, high-quality power supply.

If you went with a slightly cheaper cooler, motherboard, and PSU, maybe you could squeeze in a 120GB SSD.

There is absolutely no way upgrading to a better GPU for ~$333 makes sense.

The performance jump is tiny compared to how much cash you're burning through—you're basically just throwing money away. Plus, I wouldn't mess with your power supply; this setup barely holds together as it is, and an Radeon RX 560X pulls an extra 30-40W.

So, first things first: grab a solid power supply that you can actually rely on for years of future upgrades. That’ll run you about ~$133. That leaves you with roughly $200. If you can scrape together a little more, you could probably find a used card with a warranty for around 750-$267 that would blow your current one out of the water.

If you're running an NVIDIA GeForce GT 430, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 is going to be about three times more powerful.
If we're talking about an NVIDIA GeForce GT 430, I guess the gap might be even wider.

Do you have a case with decent airflow? You could also grab a CPU cooler for around $50 that would perform way better than the stock one.

And yeah, you definitely need to give the whole PC a good cleaning... maybe once or twice a year at least.

At least this one, $33 though it’s pricier, gives you 8 SATA ports (including two SATA3), USB 3.0, and even an IDE connector.

The temps are too high for the processor, and while they're borderline for the graphics card, they're still way too high. This isn't normal behavior...

Maybe try using CPUID Hardware Monitor to check those temperatures.

I don't think buying a GTX 980 makes much sense right now, since you can find an $1667... R9 290 for practically HALF the price, and it's only about 20-30% slower—plus it pulls ~70W more on average, which I guess isn't a huge deal for a high-end rig.

Brian Campbell36 said:Why are you running your RAM at 1333 MHz? 🤔

Because it was the cheapest option on the shelf back then, I guess.

And why on earth would newer high-end components be better just because they pull more power? 😬 It’s actually quite the opposite.
Gill01's Corner in Desktops ·
I guess all of that would just be pushing my 360W power supply to its limit.
Gill01's Corner in Desktops ·
Yeah, they actually dropped the price from $600 down to $650 today.
Gill01's Corner in Desktops ·
Well, you really went and did it this time 😬

$650 paying that much for a Radeon R9 280 seems pretty wild, especially since you still have to deal with $17 shipping, and usually anything over $667 ships for free 😵.

Ask 🙂

Just to be totally sure, tell them you want to see a screenshot from CPU-Z. If it’s a Pentium with HT, it should show Cores: 1, Threads: 2.
If it's an actual dual-core, the Cores should say 2.
Gill01's Corner in Desktops ·
Well... I guess you could grab a Gigabyte R9 280 x (which is about 10-20% faster) at Future for $687 on sale 😬

Three years old, with a slightly better cooler.

If you're looking to pay in installments, check this out:

Since the price is the same whether you pay cash or use financing, I guess it ends up being a bit cheaper that way.

Then I guess you should just grab that one.

It isn't really about the gigabytes 😁 ...the R9 290 is maybe 50-70% more powerful than the R9 280.
