Timothy Cruz6 said:Hmm. I wonder how old you are?

When I was around 19 or 20, that’s exactly what I looked for. There were plenty of reasons, but the core issue was simple: since I was their first serious partner, they had absolutely no right to demand anything more than what I was willing to offer at the time—which was just hanging out, and who knows about tomorrow. Every attempt at control or making demands gave me the perfect trump card: "Who are you to ask anything of me? Am I asking anything of you?"

I don't think I was an emotional masochist, so that doesn't necessarily mean you are. In fact, it wasn't until I was 20 that I entered my first relationship where I was the only woman. It didn't end well. It started suffocating me almost immediately, and the whole time, I was just running away from something—likely myself.

Look, if that kind of setup works for you and you aren't hurting—then you aren't a masochist.

But if you keep walking into the exact same types of relationships—and you suffer every single damn time—then yeah, we can definitely talk about masochism.

Some people just prefer being the side piece.🤷

Tried something killer yesterday. It's based on the packaging for Quinn 😁—I tweaked the recipe a bit, and honestly, it’s a game changer.

Sauté some onions in olive oil with two cloves of garlic. Toss in 100g of Quinn, toast it dry for a second, then hit it with about 3/4 cup of water. Add salt. Let it simmer low and slow until the Quinn softens and the liquid evaporates. Then, throw in a drained can of lentils (or an equal amount of cooked ones), let it bubble for a minute, stir in a splash of tomato sauce, and finish with some thyme.
It’s delicious—you don't even need meat to make it feel like a real meal.

Keeping your grades from your parents is practically a rite of passage. It’s just part of growing up—no big deal.

Yo, what's the deal with this whey—is it actually any good?

And how does it stack up against something like Dymatize?

Here’s something with a little "attitude" 🙂 I'm all about this stuff 🙂

Healthy Chicken Paprikash

9oz chicken breast
1 onion
1 large red bell pepper
1 large sweet potato
dill
a pinch of salt
olive oil
curry powder, pepper, paprika, and a splash of tomato sauce if you're feeling it

Dice up the chicken breast and let it marinate for a few hours in a mix of olive oil and dill. Chop the onion and pepper finely, then sauté them in a bit of olive oil and water with some salt. Once they soften up, toss in the chicken pieces, add enough water to just cover everything, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes. After that, throw in some chunky sweet potato pieces—add enough water to reach the top of the meat and veg (don't drown it)—and let it cook on low heat for maybe 20 minutes. Once the potato is soft, pull it out, blitz it in a blender, and pour it back into the pot. It acts as a thickener and adds a killer flavor profile. Finish it off with whatever spices you listed above. Serve it with some toasted bread or a side salad if you want to be fancy.

Go ahead—you’re better at this than I am anyway, and I can tell you're looking for 😁

Here’s a decent raw salad recipe, just winging it since I have some flaxseeds lying around

I grate some carrots, toss in some raw zucchini, mix it all up, and throw in a spoonful of ground flax plus a spoonful of olive oil. Whatever you do, don't add salt—it totally ruins the vibe.
If you're feeling fancy, throw in some shredded celery, some finely chopped onions, or any kind of sprouts (I usually go with radish)

Lisa Rogers94 said:I don't get why you're tripping over her calves when it's the hips and glutes that matter—117 cm is massive for hips.

Look, let’s be real—her calves actually match those hips perfectly.
I have no clue what she thinks the "ideal" look is supposed to be. Like, a pear shape perched on two toothpicks? Since when was that even a thing?

Alex Thomas27 said:I don't want some other weird cuts. I want pants for actual girls—pants I could actually fit into if my calves weren't so huge.
No flares. I want pants that make my lower legs look skinny (like, actually skinny, not just hiding the fact that they're thick—that's just pathetic), where my thighs and butt have that heart shape (the inverted triangle).

This is such high-level trolling I’m honestly surprised I’m even wasting my breath replying. 😁

Just put both legs in a cast.🤷😁

Here’s another super healthy twist on hummus—just whipped this up and it actually hits the spot.

Throw this in the blender:
200g chickpeas in water (grabbed the Alnaturin brand because the seasoning is spot on and they aren't swimming in excess water)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp ground flaxseed
1 clove garlic

Blitz it for maybe 2-3 minutes, then toss it into a glass container with a lid. It’s killer on rye bread, and honestly, the flax adds this nice little bitter edge.

Yeah, kind of like 🙂

I know it's part of the Palm Springs area, but I don't think it's actually that big.

I think we actually need a dedicated thread for this. Someone already pitched a similar idea over on the Martial Arts PDF.

I've been lurking and posting here for a long time now—just curious, what do you all actually do for a living? I’m talking about both the regulars and the occasional posters. Does anyone here actually find success in their field, or is it all just talk?
Let’s be real—most people hanging out here aren't exactly gym rats by default. It might actually be worth pivoting the vibe a bit to make the forum more welcoming for people into other stuff.

Maybe it’s worth doing a quick rundown of everything you guys have been up to—though honestly, focusing on the present might be more useful. It wouldn't hurt to throw in some thoughts on what all those different moves actually meant to you, too.

---------------

Alright, I'll kick things off.

29 years old—just a single woman.

Been off the Bujinkan Bruce Lee grind for most of three years now—mostly just massive gaps in training. My only real goal at this point? Finally grinding out that 10th kyū. I just want that green belt on my waist.
I hit the gym maybe four to eight times a month—nothing crazy. Just low-intensity stuff like light squats, core work, back, chest... that kind of thing. I’m not out here trying to set powerlifting records or chase massive weights. Honestly? I just want to stay solid and keep my spine from falling apart.
Just your average commuter—mostly just pedaling from point A to point B around town most days. Nothing crazy.

Spent years doing step aerobics and Tae Bo—anyone else actually remember that craze? 😁A year and a half rowing in college leagues—plus a year total doing ki-aikido and kenjutsu.

Your turn. 🙂
Everything you just listed, plus all the extra headaches and bullshit 😁

No kidding.

The upside is that once you start moving—both physically and mentally—things just feel better. You wake up, life’s still a mess, but at least you're humming a tune 🙂
Mapping out what you're actually going to do helps a ton, and there's definitely some science behind those endorphins.

Nature figured it out long ago.
Sitting around overthinking everything is basically a death sentence.
Is this a normal weight? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
Dennis Sanchez2 said:Hey. Need a quick reality check from anyone who actually knows their stuff. What’s a normal weight range for someone 6'0" tall?

Somewhere between 130 and 220 lbs—depends on your age, build, and whether you're weighing muscle or just pure fluff.😁
Why shouldn't we be able to Ban users we interact with? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Thomas Cruz15 said:Honestly, I have no clue why Medin Ban issued that ban, but Smizlin totally caught me off guard!

Just before she announced at the Tvuku recreation session that she was going to look into it—without being warned to just mind her own business and watch her step, or else face a 500-point penalty and a Ban.

Anyway, not trying to start any drama here.

Exactly. I'm only bringing this up to point out the obvious fact of the matter. I'm hoping someone actually steps up and addresses this instead of dancing around it.

Matthew Anderson4 said:It’s not just about them having authority over us; it’s about being directly affected by it. If someone gets a Ban and I have no clue why, I figure I should at least be allowed to know the reason. How are mods expecting people not to repeat the same mistake if they don't even know what the mistake was in the first place? This whole "it doesn't concern you" nonsense is just a way to screw over people who actually take this "job" seriously.

👍

Applies generally to anyone letting a Reddit thread mess with their RL and emotions too much. And trust me, there are plenty of them out there.

feraltrucker5 said:Well, look, it’s basically because us mods aren't allowed to jump into public threads to debate how other mods are handling things anyway. If one of us does something, they can explain their reasoning, sure, but if another mod disagrees, that’s a conversation for a private DM or a closed channel. We don't just waltz into someone else's sub-forum to stir the pot here.

As for this specific mess, I actually stepped in to adjust the duration of the Ban just to try and de-escalate things before the whole situation turned into a total dumpster fire. 😁

You laid out the case pretty clearly and made some solid points, so at this stage, there isn't much left to do but wait for an admin to step in and settle the score. Hopefully, that happens sooner rather than later.

Fine, but it's still overkill. She didn't deserve that.

And honestly, I'm glad to see a decent amount of smart, level-headed people showing up here—especially since most of you don't have any connection to Medin, Smizl, or Recreation.

Alright rustydrifter10, but 500 points plus a month-long suspension??
No warning or anything?

Come on. 😁
