Thanks for the explanation, but honestly, that needs to be clearly stated in the rules. Otherwise, you're just pulling the wool over some people's eyes.🙂

And fix the spacing, please.

Also, maybe think about picking a shorter handle so people don't get lost in this nonsense current one? Ideally without any special characters.

Can't use it—it's got a period in it.

Daniel Perez6 said:Can I change my name on Urban.?

Well, there is an Urban, but it’s not exactly buzzing with activity, so I don't think anyone would get confused. Honestly, I just want to change my handle because this weird mix of uppercase and lowercase letters is driving me crazy, plus I had to add a number when I signed up. I know the rule about periods, but clearly, there are exceptions.

Is it possible? Spectre Speak up? Or maybe you mean actually making a point?
This whole argument about initials just doesn't hold water. ☕

northernpilot2 said:I mean, Terry Turner2 can go with whatever, honestly. Spaces are totally fine in the corrections, and if you ask me, it actually looks a bit cleaner that way.
But look, both versions—Terry Turner2 and Lady—are officially approved, so just pick one and let the folks in Miami know what you decided.

What's the logic behind approving a change from a period when it was explicitly stated there wouldn't be any exceptions?

Thanks. 😁

Nicholas King said:The statement "this person bothers me on the forum, do something about it" is arguably just one step below a slapped-on psychiatric diagnosis.

We have all sorts of people on this forum, and honestly, it wouldn’t just be impossible for everyone to get along—it would be incredibly boring and frankly quite pathetic if they did. Every single one of us has those users we’d love to see tossed into a vat of acid, and others we’d rather just tuck under a blanket and hide away. But, what does this general call for "attention being diverted" toward one user or another actually mean in practice? I am asking without a shred of irony: what specific measures are actually being proposed behind this demand to "shift the focus"? You can't just say, "I don't know, my job is to shift the attention, let them figure out the measures"...

There is already a system for reporting posts. There are warnings, temporary suspensions, and permanent bans based on the decisions of various levels of administration. That is more than enough to keep this forum in order.

+ Ignore.

If you don't like what you see, you don't have to read it. 🤷

Paul Nelson said:Can a mod just wipe my posts? I have this habit of asking things and then never getting an answer. (You can delete that part too, lol)

Posts generally don't get deleted.
The only time we clear stuff out is if someone leaks personal info or posts links that break the rules. You've only got a handful of posts here, so I'm not sure what the big issue is.😁

Just imagine if everyone started scrubbing their history—the whole forum would be a mess. Deleting posts kills the flow and ruins the context of the conversation.

You could wait for a moderator to weigh in, but honestly, you'll probably just get the same answer. 🤷

How about Chicago then?

That works. Get in touch with Miami.

Nah, if you do that, you won't even see the nickname of the person you're quoting or a link back to their original post. So, honestly? You might as well just do what I always do.

So, it was my first time. Honestly? Not sure how to even describe the feeling. Just one of those things where you finally step up to the plate and realize everything you thought you knew was totally off. You ever have that happen? Where you think you're prepared, but then reality just hits you in the face? Yeah. That was me.
Just once, the first light breaks. That's it.🥳
What's up, man?🤣

The rest of it would be a total spoiler... but it doesn't matter anyway. You find the movie logical; I don't.

I get why you'd see some plot holes, but I can't wrap my head around you finding this logical. What movie actually makes sense to you? 🤔

That whole bit with the teeth is clearly just playing the audience; I had my suspicions that the inspector was behind everything too. Honestly, at this point, I'd bet anything those were his teeth in that scene.
The Notebook (2012) in Movies ·
The movie has an interesting premise, but unfortunately, that’s where the appeal ends. It’s such a great concept, yet the execution feels unfinished and strangely detached. I didn't feel any real spark between the two leads; she comes across as pretty cold and disinterested. That's just my take on it, though.
The opening scene was handled so poorly that it felt more grotesque than actually sad or shocking.

I honestly expected way more from this. Rachel McAdams is really subpar here—I might even go as far as saying it's her worst performance yet. 🤷
Dakota Fanning in Movies ·
In my opinion, Dakota Fanning has more raw talent than Ellar Fanning. 🤷 I’m looking at their entire careers here. Dakota was incredible when she was a kid, but lately, her performances have felt a bit stagnant—it feels like she’s playing the exact same character in every single role.

As for Ellar Fanning, her work has always been pretty middle-of-the-road for me, so I don't really see them as being in the same league. 😁
A Dangerous Method in Movies ·
Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I think Keira Knightley is absolutely brilliant. Looking back at the movie now with a bit more perspective, it feels like she's actually the brightest part of the whole thing. She gave 100% in every single scene and her performance was anything but one-dimensional.

It seems like she gets cast in the wrong roles most of the time, but she handled this one like a total pro. 🤷
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) in Movies ·
She’s one of the two central characters—everything basically revolves around her, so it makes sense to me. Plus, the way they pronounce Zalacenko actually holds up once you’ve seen all three parts. 🙂

Adam Barrett said:Finished the third one last night. Even though they messed with the book version quite a bit—including how some characters actually look—it’s decent, but the whole trilogy just feels fake to me. 🤷 Michael and Elizabeth just happen to cross paths, and then lo and behold, they end up together again because some reporter at his office decides to dig into a trafficking case that somehow turns into this wild saga about Elizabeth, 😕 not to mention that ending of the second movie which was peak nonsense.

The only saving grace for this entire series is Elizabeth herself. But like I said on Literature, she’s got those crazy traits that make her worth watching.

Overall? The Millennium Trilogy is just massive amounts of unbelievable bullshit, but the actress playing Elizabeth is killer. She totally deserves an Oscar.

It’s pretty obvious they’d reconnect, considering she spent the following year poking around his laptop whenever she felt like it, which is how she figured out what he was working on at the newspaper.
That reunion isn't some random fluke; in a way, they practically set the whole chain of events in motion themselves. 🤷

Sure, there are a few plot holes and moments where things feel a bit forced, but certain threads are actually woven together quite well. 😳

irontiger29 said:I just finished watching both the US and the Swedish versions... which one actually stays truest to the book if you guys have read it?

Both are based on the novel.
The American version tends to include more plot details, though they did tweak a few facts here and there. The Sweden version basically just sticks to the bare bones.

Adam Barrett said:I didn't read the first one, but I basically spat on the second book over on the literature forums specifically because of that spoiler you mentioned. Also, how on earth did she walk through the yard the second time without triggering a motion sensor?

Spoiler:

The book explains it away by saying it was more of a shallow pit and the ground was damp, so she didn't drown instantly and could have potentially dug herself out—but with head wounds and injuries to her thigh? Hell no! :/
Yeah, I totally missed that detail. Maybe it’s because it was daytime? It makes zero sense for the sensors to react to everything since there are animals wandering around—they'd be "beeping" constantly. I don't know...

steelhound35 said:When we’re talking about length, let’s not drag things out. And if they can be long, even better.

I'm 5'11", and whenever I actually find something long enough, it ends up being too wide. If it isn't wide, then it's too short. 🙂

In a four-year span, I managed to find pants at Macy's twice. Both times, I was beyond thrilled. They didn't lose their shape, and they were actually longer than most brands offer. For context, I’m about 6'0" with long legs, and they fit perfectly. I still swing by there occasionally, but my luck is pretty hit-or-miss. So yeah, two successful trips in four years.

Give it a shot there. 😉

Personally, I really enjoyed the movie; I actually found it quite moving.

Hmm, I don't know about that. I get the feeling she never truly anticipated he’d spiral that far. She pulled the plug once the fun died out and she realized some lines had been crossed. 🤷That's how I handled things too...
