As my colleague pointed out—and you seem to be struggling to grasp this yourself—it all comes down to moderator discretion. Just because you feel certain that a post warrants deletion or a formal sanction doesn't mean it actually does. It certainly doesn't mean we have to align with your perspective, agree that your view is the sole "objective" truth, or accept that we are obligated to penalize every single flagged comment. We aren't robots programmed to follow your lead.
You’re convinced they need to be scrubbed, but we aren't, and frankly, that's a total no-brainer. 🤷

Not exactly, if you consider that the five of us didn't even react to it. 😁 Furthermore, certain off-topic threads get wiped entirely, which isn't something you can actually see; all you notice are the moderation markers left on the remaining posts. Even those flagged posts often vanish altogether, and so on, et cetera. 😉

Look, I checked my inbox after being away for a few hours today, and I found fourteen different reports from you—you managed to flag everything in just that short window.
Just because users report a post doesn't mean it’s an automatic violation that warrants some kind of disciplinary action simply because you personally dislike what was said. Beyond that, there are countless variations of off-topic comments; some actually add value and build upon the core discussion, while others don't. So, perhaps it would be easier if you could just 😁

Stop talking nonsense. We need a mod who actually understands what constitutes trash, someone who enjoys starting new threads, keeps discussions moving, and is willing to moderate properly. I already suggested Africa Pepper for the job because they are the perfect choice.
But then again, you wouldn't know, since you haven't been around the trash section much.

Just to circle back to this: thank you, truly, but I am going to decline both the suggestion and the offer 🙂 Just in case, though I highly doubt it would even be taken under serious consideration.

I don't believe Reddit needs yet another moderator, and even if they did, I simply lack the bandwidth to moderate properly; I'm still finding my footing and, let's be honest, I'm far from perfect myself. 😳

I sincerely hope the whole situation gets resolved to everyone's satisfaction, because honestly, trash is just plain trash to me. 😁 😳

It doesn't really matter; I'm sure the moderators will just delete any duplicate posts 🥳

1. It is my understanding that posting images on Hazelnut isn't permitted, if I recall correctly.

As for those other two issues, I can't say for certain. It’s entirely possible your session timed out at the exact moment you attempted to edit and save, or perhaps the same thing happened when you tried to delete. Those options tend to stay active for a little while, but they don't stick around forever.

Honestly, I feel just as much pain regardless of any sexual (in)activity 😁

So—should I head to my primary care physician for the prescription, or would a gynecologist be the better bet?🤷

The real frustration is that, according to my charts, apparently I don't have any underlying health issues that would justify the level of pain I'm feeling.🙄

My OB-GYN mentioned I have a few ovarian cysts, but nothing major—nothing that poses a real threat to my health.🤔 BUT she can't explain why I get these sudden, sharp stabs of pain in my ovaries a few times every month, nor can she tell me why my period has been running 10 to 12 days late for the last four months, especially since it was perfectly regular for years.

And when the pain hits, it hits hard. From day one to day three, I’m basically out of commission. No classes, no grabbing coffee, no walks—nothing. It's just bed-bathroom-bed.🙂

Even standard over-the-counter stuff, like Advil or Aleve, doesn't touch it. I would be absolutely thrilled if I could get some actual, effective medication.🙏 Because honestly, I'm done popping five or six Ibuprofens a day just to cope...

You need to ask your primary care physician for a referral.

As for the reasoning, for heaven's sake, even the instructions on Advil, Aleve, and Midol state they are intended for post-op and menstrual pain. Honestly, I think it’s incredibly regressive by today's standards to question whether someone is actually experiencing period cramps 🤷
If she won't write it, just ask for a referral to a gynecologist instead. Or a dentist 😬

Carol Rodriguez16 said:So, I find myself wondering: after all these years of listening to such a wide variety of music, why does metal always feel like it's just slightly "off" to me? Is it simply that the production doesn't sit right, or is it that specific vocal style that keeps pushing away music that would otherwise be instrumentally brilliant? 😕

I think one must consider that "metal" is actually a massive umbrella term encompassing a huge amount of diverse sounds. There isn't a single person who identifies as a metalhead without loving most, if not all, subgenres, primarily because the music is so incredibly varied. For instance, progressive, power, or glam metal fans don't typically deal with growling, and in recent years, we've seen waves of metal that defy any attempt at categorization.

Personally, I don't even label myself a metalhead, though I certainly listen to metal much like I do rock, punk, electronic, or whatever else catches my ear—if it resonates, it stays in my rotation. I suspect you aren't actually feeling disconnected from metal 😁 any more than any other fan; it’s just that some people simply aren't built for death, thrash, or black metal, and instead gravitate toward a different corner of the genre. That, I believe, is the crux of the matter. 🙂

For my part, the aches don't exactly vanish, though I will say the intensity of the bleeding does tend to subside, if nothing else.😁

On top of that, about two years ago, these much more aggressive PMS symptoms started hitting me—you know, the emotional volatility, the sudden mood swings, that relentless, constant hunger. It was never an issue for me until I hit my twenties.😁 😢

Everyone knows their own body best. Maybe I just have a higher pain tolerance, or maybe it’s just what happens after ten years of competitive sports pushing my body to the absolute limit, or maybe I'm just totally wrong about this... 🤷
Try making it through one full cycle without any pills (take that advice with a grain of salt, you don't have to listen to me) and see if the next month feels any easier.

I tried that. It didn't go well. I couldn't lie down, I couldn't sit up, I couldn't even think straight. Eventually, my mother suggested I just take some Tylenol. So, I did. Shortly thereafter, I lost consciousness in the bathroom—nearly met my maker, actually—and spent the next twenty-four hours shivering and sweating in a fetal position.

I'd like to think I know my body better than I did during that particular ordeal 🤷

New Age spikes won't save you. When it hurts, it hurts. No amount of magic, "finding your center," or focusing on your inner self and other spiritual nonsense is going to cut it—unfortunately, it’s just chemistry that does the trick.

Carol Rodriguez16 said:I have a real soft spot for deep vocals, provided they feel organic—think along the lines of Iggy Pop, Siouxsie Sioux, or Till Lindemann from ASP... you know, voices that don't sound forced.

Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say all growls are forced, 😁 though I will admit it's quite a challenge to find a vocalist who hits that sweet spot of being intense without sounding artificial. 😁

The artists mentioned are such highly specific vocalists, much like how truly talented growlers possess a unique signature. Just as there are inevitably some amateurs attempting to mimic Till or Iggy, there are also those who mistakenly believe that simply howling at the moon qualifies as actual growling. 😁

My entire midsection is absolutely killing me—literally. I’ve reached that stage where I can’t even pinpoint when the pain migrated from my uterus to my whole abdomen 🤣, though, thankfully, I haven't developed any digestive issues as a side effect. Still, given how much I've been cramping, I suppose I probably should have by now, shouldn't I? 🤔 😬
How to improve my growling technique? in Music ·
It really all boils down to the individual vocalist, though you can't ignore the musical backdrop they're working with either. 🤷
There are times when the two just don't mesh, or perhaps more often, the singer is simply shrieking away without any sense of rhythm or soul (I honestly find myself wondering how they manage to keep their throat from completely giving out 🤔), but then occasionally, you hit something truly spectacular.

For me, a top-tier growl would have to be Mikael Stanne from Dark Tranquillity; he’s actually one of the primary reasons I even started getting into the band in the first place. 😳

Sean Jones8 said:I’ve never touched those things, even when I was dealing with pain that felt absolutely unbearable.
I’m done with them for good.
It’s just heartbreaking to see how many young women are popping all these chemical substances every single month. Maybe it helps in the moment, maybe it relaxes the muscles or whatever, but it’s wrecking your liver and everything else; your body is really struggling to deal with it all.

And what's even sadder is that doctors—especially gynecologists—seem to have zero advice to offer other than just prescribing some toxic junk from the pharmacy... yuck.

There are plenty of natural ways to handle this. One of them actually worked for me. Long live nature! 😍😍😍

You sound like you’re reading from a late-night infomercial. I didn't have any issues, then I just stopped taking them... 🙂

Since you're clearly so concerned about our livers, why don't you share how you actually quit? 🤷

For what it's worth, I don't have any digestive issues, 😬 but I certainly wouldn't mind taking them if the cramps weren't quite so agonizing.🤣

copperraven53 said:Nothing really works well enough to actually make me feel okay. Even this combo of Ibuprofen and Spasmex—which honestly makes me nauseous half the time 🙂—barely touches the pain. I’m kind of terrified to even think about what happens if I don't take pills, since they barely work even when I do.

I've talked to several different OB-GYNs now, and they all basically tell me the same thing: there's no real fix, unless I go on hormonal birth control to lighten things up. My periods are insanely heavy, full of cramps and flooding, so yeah, I basically just grit my teeth and suffer through the first two days, popping pills and praying it'll be over soon. 🤷

You basically lose consciousness 😁 and end up spending those two days in a complete fog. 👋

I deal with the exact same amounts of pain. I tried Spasmex because my mom had some from an old prescription her doctor gave her ages ago, but honestly, it helps about as much as Advil or Aleve used to—back before they required a script. Now, damn it, everything does.

It’s a single prescription that I’ve been riding for about six months now, and honestly, I’ve burned through three boxes of these pills just to stay ahead of it. They’re running low soon, so I’ll be grabbing a refill; my GP is already well aware that I rely on these horse-strength anti-inflammatories to deal with my monthly cycle. I highly doubt anyone would go around pumping such heavy-duty postoperative-style combat grenades into their system just for the hell of it. 😬
It honestly seems pointless to bring in Disturbed; I'd say about 80% of their fanbase has already caught them live sometime in the last three years 😁
Which famous US celebrities never finished college? in Miscellaneous ·
I’ve been following this thread for quite some time now, and I can't help but wonder: does anyone actually care? Honestly, the only exceptions worth mentioning are those who managed to wrap up high school, let alone college—though even then, we shouldn't ignore the folks currently sitting in high office. 🤷
