I hate starting a whole new thread just for one quick question, so I figured I'd just drop it here:
The FAQ covers everything about warnings, points, and bans pretty clearly, but there’s one thing that’s tripping me up: does the ban trigger every single time you hit a certain point threshold, or is it just a one-time thing when you first cross it?
For example: let's say I'm sitting at 95 points right now. If I rack up another 10 points for trolling around, I'll get slapped with a 3-day ban.
Then, after those 3 days are up and I come back to the forum, some of my old points might have expired, putting me back down at 95 again.
So, if I hit that next 10-point spike—basically crossing that 100-point line once more—am I looking at another 3-day ban, or is that 100-point milestone a "one and done" situation?
I’m dealing with the exact same thing. It helps a little bit, though—if you're like me and have the chance, there's an option up top to mute the audio for a specific tab with just one click.
On the tab where the sound is playing, there's this tiny icon at the top; you just hit it and boom, the volume for that tab is dropped to zero instantly. Doesn't really fix the data usage issue, though...
So, whenever I click on a specific user to try and dig up their old posts, I just get hit with this pop-up window:
Joshua Kim39, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system? 2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
I know for a fact I used to be able to browse through anyone's post history without any issues. Did they change something on the site recently, or am I just tripping?
Casey Bennett said:default Thread Subscription mode When you When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.
You can also set how often you want to get email notifications for your subscribed threads here.
I went with the ''no email notification'' option
So does that mean I'll be automatically added to the subscription list for any thread I jump into, just without getting those annoying emails?
Man, this CCleaner is absolutely wild. Thank god I didn't just hit go before checking the "applications" tab—it had Google Earth, Microsoft Office Picture Manager, and Microsoft Office 2010 checked by default! 😲
Seriously though, would it have actually wiped all that out if I'd just clicked Run? 😲
Every time I try to clear my browsing history, stuff still sticks around, and honestly, I want everything gone—completely wiped.
On the Google homepage, those old search terms just hang out there. Like, if I type the letter "f," it suggests things like "Facebook," "flat screen TVs," or even names of people I searched for ages ago. It’s basically a list of every single thing starting with "f" that I've ever looked up.
The other thing is that whenever I go to a site where I need to log in, it keeps suggesting all my old usernames from previous accounts. It's like it remembers every single login I've ever used.
I swear, I remember back in the day, clearing the history actually worked and wiped everything clean. Why won't it do that anymore?
Just to be clear: when I go to delete everything, I make sure every single box is checked and I set the time range to "all time."
EDIT: Now I'm seeing that the address bar is still suggesting sites from just five days ago, even though I literally just nuked the entire history.😠
electricsailor2 said:Just head over to the Control Panel and hit 'System and Security.' From there, click on 'System,' then look for 'System protection' on the left side. You'll see an option to 'Configure restore settings, manage disc space, and delete restore points.' Just click 'Configure...' and tweak things however you want. 😁
I just checked mine and it’s already set to 5% (about 5.85GB). That’s the "max usage" limit, and I'm currently sitting at 5.35GB used.
So does that mean it'll just fill up that last 0.50GB and then stop?
electricsailor2 said:Yeah, turns out the issue was with System and Security. 😵 Max usage was set to 140 GB—honestly, no clue why, I never even touched those settings. So, I just hit "delete all restore points from this drive" and boom, all that space came right back. 👍 Thanks a ton for the help and thanks to everyone for weighing in! 👍
I'm such a total newbie when it comes to this stuff, what can you do, right? 🤦
Where do I actually find that System and Security setting to cap the storage so I can do the same thing?
Man, this is turning into a total epidemic. Everywhere I look online, people are freaking out because their C: drive is filling up out of nowhere. Just look at how many people are talking about it right here on this forum.
It’s happening to me too. I actually just swapped out my old hard drive recently, so I’ve been super careful about what I download or install because I really want to keep my PC as clean as possible.
But seriously, I’m seeing my C: drive fill up... like, at a rate of roughly 1GB every 4 or 5 days.(😲) And the kicker? I haven't downloaded or installed a single thing! Technically, it’s not a huge deal since I have a massive amount of free space left on my C: drive, but I'm still sitting here thinking, wtf?
We might need to hire a private investigator just to figure out what the hell is going on. 😠
Lately, every single time I try to open Google Docs, Google Sheets, or pretty much anything else in my Google Workspace, this annoying little window pops up right in my face:
You know that moment when you go to unplug a thumb drive and that little "Safely Remove Hardware" window pops up? Well, mine is acting super funky—it’s giving me the option to eject an "Eject WDC 5000AAKX-001CA0 ATA Device." Basically, it's asking if I want to unmount my actual hard drive 😲
I only caught onto this because even when nothing is plugged in, my taskbar icon in the bottom right corner keeps insisting there's a USB device attached. It's like my computer thinks it's constantly connected to something
Oh, and one more thing! Every single time I boot up, I get this split second where the screen goes black and white text flashes, saying stuff like "no hard disc detected." Then, out of nowhere, it just moves past it, macOS loads up, and everything works totally fine
I wasn't sure if I should post this under mobile tech or just drop it here, but since we're talking about a desktop app, I figured this was the spot.
So, media go is that app you use to sync your computer with an Xperia and organize all your fresh photos and files. The thing is, once you install it, it automatically creates a 'Media Go' folder in My Pictures and just dumps every single new photo and video from my mobile phone right in there by default. Does anyone know if it's actually possible to change the destination folder? I'd love to have everything save somewhere else automatically instead.
