Requesting clemency after serving time in solitary confinement in Feedback & Suggestions ·
If I’m allowed to play judge and jury here, you’ve got my vote for letting him go. Just leave the guy alone and let him write whatever he wants, however he wants to do it.

JUSTICE!

Is it weird if I give myself a little pat on the back?

Maybe this is a bit off-topic, but I was wondering why Real Madrid didn't just start from the bottom after FC Dallas folded? And why are they counting all those trophies FC Dallas picked up during the Reagan era?

Look, we’re giving you a chance to make things right here. Just unlock the thread about whether ACTA should be adopted. If you don't fully get it, just remember the world isn't some black-and-white binary thing; it’s full of all these different shades and nuances. That specific thread holds a ton of other related stuff that might not be your cup of tea, but it's actually pretty constructive and interesting for those who follow this kind of stuff.

Thanks

And why on earth did you go and lock it now, especially after we just cruised through 46 pages?

Just because you want me to. 👍

Btw, why haven't you sanctioned or even just deleted that trolling I reported?

The OP is way better than yours, and honestly, the threads here are just more your speed.

Thanks for the effort.
The intro text hits harder because the moderation actually holds some weight.
Still, I never really liked that site anyway, so I think I'll pass on making the jump over there—I mean, who’s actually looking to build a career on a platform like that?

Sam Green73 said:Look, I have no clue 😕

They’d probably be way easier to track down if there was actually some decent context provided alongside them.

Maybe now you’re starting to see why we bother with moderation.
Threads just spiral out of control and turn into a total mess.
Trust me, you don't want to see what this place would look like without any oversight.

Anyway, if you’re really that desperate, I can point you toward some unmoderated corner of the internet where you can go play.

I know for a fact the link I was looking for was sitting on page 35 or 36, and if you or your buddies hadn't scrubbed it, I'd have found it by now.

Go ahead then, send me the link to that unmoderated forum.

What, you want me to go out and buy you a MacBook too? ☕

Sure, you want me to DM you my Venmo?

I'm out here digging through this thread trying to track down some links, but I'm coming up empty. Resonators, where you guys hiding?

Did you at least hoard them all for yourself since you're being stingy with the rest of us?

Kevin Williams56 said:Man, only those new age wannabe "forum dwellers" bother with mobile devices, honestly, no point wasting energy on people like that.

A real hard core forum regular always keeps a laptop within arm's reach. ☕

Total discrimination if you ask me.

shadowpilot8 said:Honestly, posting a random URL without any context is just a waste of everyone's time, especially when half the time it isn't even a clickable link. And regarding that resonator support thing—I'm with you, those kinds of posts don't really belong on this forum.

Better watch out, or you'll end up picking fights with everyone here.
What about those of us stuck using mobile data? Since following those steps is a total pain on a phone, does that mean we aren't allowed to comment either?

Charles Fox10 said:Now that we've cleared all that up, I'm asking again.

Which post is actually decent and actually helps the conversation move forward???

Obviously the second one, though if I or anyone else here tried to chime in with links or extra context, Resonator would've just nuked them anyway. Seems like he hasn't quite wrapped his head around how these rules work.

Sam Green73 said:yeah, both those links lead to the exact same page

When I hit that top link, they both pop up at once, and they’re both just full of rules—honestly, there's more legislation stuffed in there than there is in the entire US Constitution.

Charles Fox10 said:Last edit by Uncle Sam: 10/06/2011 at 2:03 PM. These rules have been the standard since then.

And honestly, this rule you're complaining about makes perfect sense because a post that's just a single link with zero context is basically useless.

People come here to actually talk, and right now everyone's expected to click through some random URL just to figure out what the hell we're even discussing, which is a total waste of time if they've already seen it elsewhere.

For example:

1. A post that breaks the rules:

http://www.example-us-forum.com/thread/66911

2. A post that follows the rules:

http://www.example-us-forum.com/thread/66911

So, one last thing.

Which one is actually decent and actually helps move a conversation forward?

You messed up somewhere, both links are identical.

We basically had to walk you through how to even add links to a post.

And isn't it just common sense to actually check the PDF guidelines before you start typing away on them.

Are we really asking for that much????

Look, it’s not really everyone, more like pretty much everyone. People are all over this thread wondering why their posts look wonky.

Like, I’ll say it again, wouldn't it be more logical to just make the rules work for the majority?

Why bother fighting the current when you can clearly see most people on this board have their own specific way of doing things? Wouldn't it just be easier for you to go with the flow instead of trying to force your own style on everyone else?

Honestly, just change the rule once we all get fed up enough.

It’d be better if all Sam Green73 could do on his computer is hit delete. And maybe you could find a different way to get a hold of him?

Most things aren't settled just by finding a few people who agree with you.
You'd be doing us all a massive favor if you actually took a second to read the netiquette#forums and started living by it.

Links posted in a thread should actually make sense and include a quick contextual breakdown.
Don't expect everyone else to just blindly click on everything you drop.

I won't keep nitpicking you, though I appreciate you admitting we're all biased—including yourself.

As for the rules, I've read through them plenty of times, and honestly, I try to follow them as much as any sane person can given the constraints. But let's be real, even with strict laws, there's always some wiggle room; even a cop isn't going to pull you over for doing 44 miles mph when the limit is 37 miles mph. You're out here following the handbook like some kind of programmed drone or a puppet dancing on its boss's strings.

Daniel Ward87 said:So basically, you're saying it's just my subjective take that Sam Green73 is censoring people. Hey, you're entitled to your opinion, but Sam Green73 isn't out here playing censor—he's just cleaning up anything that breaks the rules. A whole bunch of people dropped a link that really should speak for itself.

Sure, you can frame it as just my personal perspective, but you can't really assume every other user who had their posts nuked feels exactly the same way I do. But look, if the vast majority of folks are on one side and the mod is standing all alone on the other, I gotta ask:

Who’s actually being subjective here, and who’s being objective?
