Raymond Thomas5 said:At the end of the day, look at how he treats Alonso's mechanics—these guys have been busting their tails for four years straight just to see him take all the credit if they win, yet the moment things go south, he turns around and bashes them, claiming the car is garbage... Hint: it's a total piece of junk.

And then there's this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teeOhM4ntEE, which pretty much tells you everything you need to know.

Given Alonso's ego in this rivalry, the entire narrative revolves around him. If he wins fair and square, his fans will be insufferable... remember when he was in the USA back in 2005 and claimed "I'll be better than Michael Schumacher"? But if he loses, or even just starts slipping early in the season, he’ll likely suffer the exact same fate as his predecessor, prost...

There isn't much of a schedule for this season, but we are already planning for Austria and Indianapolis/Spa next year, depending on whether Kimi ends up at Ferrari. Safe travels (to everyone heading out, naturally).

Well, to be honest, we had quite a few people joining us from around here. We also had the incredible misfortune of having a parking lot emptied right near us in the middle of the night. Naturally, that attracted a group of festival-goers who were clearly in high spirits, looking to head out and cause a bit of trouble around town. They ended up disrupting our sleep for about an hour while they were busy getting themselves ready. 🙂

It’s still better than a potential actual incident, where everything could have spiraled out of control because someone asked, "what kind of livestock is this?" 🙂

William Bennett53 said:I drove from Cleveland last year. Generally speaking, you don't even really need satellite navigation to get to Indianapolis, unless you are like me and enjoy seeing exactly how much more driving remains before you hit your destination. You just follow the route toward Padova and then toward Chicago, as Raymond Anderson4 explained above. However, once you actually arrive in Indianapolis, a GPS might come in handy if you decide—as I did last year—to park relatively close to the track, perhaps somewhere in town where parking is free. Also, finding a pizzeria or a supermarket on Saturday afternoon might be a wise move.

As for the finances... $200 should cover your travel, and the other $200 should be plenty for two days, provided you aren't buying memorabilia and you eat from the grocery stores. A word of advice: at the racetrack, you can bring whatever you like (camping chairs, sleeping bags, stools, miracles...) so bring plenty of food and drinks, and definitely bring coffee in a thermos.

Regarding anything else, the two of us rented that device with the audio and video feed (it looks somewhat like a video game console) last year, and it was a total success. Only a few people in our section of the stands actually knew what was happening on the track since we weren't positioned near the big screens. One more thing: if you are buying the cheapest ticket but want a spot right by the fence where you can see clearly, plan to be in position by around 9:00 or 9:30 in the morning. 😁

Was that blonde girl with the Finnish flag with you?🙂

I went with Compass, boarding at the Adriatic gates... all in all, last year was incomparable to the 09 season, whoever was there knows... ☕
4season said:Your little analyses... what exactly is Alonso supposed to do differently? Is it not enough that he’s averaging half a second faster than Massa in qualifying, or does he need to be over a full second ahead? This Ford car is built specifically for his style, and he’s squeezing every ounce of performance out of it during qualifying. Honestly, I think anyone else—especially someone like Vettel—would have been an absolute disaster in this Ford...

I have a feeling Logan Sargeant is going to absolutely wreck JPMorgan Chase.

Is this even allowed?

I realize Romain Grosjean doesn't carry nearly the same weight as Lewis Hamilton, but how much longer must we tolerate this circus just to ensure Lewis Hamilton in that Mercedes can actually contend with Sebastian Vettel for the title?

And why am I even nitpicking this small detail when they’ve gone and tested thousands of miles illegally and gotten away with it completely unpunished... reminds me of how things work back home in the States.

I feel like I’m spending way too much energy—and honestly, losing my patience—trying to have a rational conversation with the Ferrari and Alonso fans here. It’s starting to feel less like a debate and more like a cult, which I think someone pointed out earlier today.. I do want to give a shout-out to the exceptions, though, like Amanda Kelly—she’s one of those rare users you can actually exchange logical arguments with, even when we don't see eye to eye on everything..

It just feels like there aren't enough people left who haven't been completely blinded by their favorite drivers or teams. It seems like most discussions have shifted toward nothing but blind worship of certain icons, usually accompanied by tearing down anyone else in their path..

Everyone needs to back off; Alonso is already pushing the red clock to its limit. They’re coming for Vettel with everything they've got because they’re terrified that Ferrari might actually prioritize him over the boss—though honestly, that wouldn't be the first time things went sideways in Maranello... They’re dragging Kimi through the mud just because they can't stomach his 2007 title or the fact that he outscored their "magnificent" double world champion during those three seasons when everything supposedly worked perfectly on Michelins...

Remember back in 2005 when he actually had the nerve to claim that he was going to overtake Schumacher in the win column... what an absolute joke... 🙏
steelmaker83 said:If the competition is a joke, I assume the winner will be too, right?

Of course, this whole thing has been nothing more than a complete circus run by an 82-year-old man for quite some time now...

Amanda Kelly said:It’s not exactly a cakewalk (if you even win), and calling this competition a joke is a stretch.
If Kimi actually pulls this off, I’ll personally bow down and offer my sincerest congratulations.

But let's be real, he won't.
Based on what I've seen lately, Alonso and Vettel are basically neck and neck, while Kimi is a notch below them. In my opinion, those three should be the ones fighting for the title.
Lewis is another step down from that group.

Besides, Kimi's being a total brat. He didn't want to drive like this back when he was at Ferrari. He just played the part of the lazy guy.

Even if Lauda had managed to pull off that same feat two years after winning the title—which he absolutely didn't—he would have still done more than Fernando, despite how much you all seem to worship him... I don't even want to imagine who people would have blamed if Alonso had been behind the wheel of a Ferrari like Kimi's was back in 2009...

I have a feeling the phrase "this ridiculous competition" was actually picked up from the football subforum...😁 It feels to me like this all really started with that little bit of back-and-forth right there on the Real-Barac line—just some unnecessary tension at the start.😁

I agree—it’s definitely worth highlighting! 🤣
I honestly think there’s a massive connection here to the team dynamic and the overall vibe—you know? It feels like Lotus has this much more relaxed atmosphere, where they aren't constantly being squeezed by endless sponsor obligations and all that corporate noise. My gut feeling is that at Ferrari, he just felt incredibly frustrated—it really seemed like he was constantly battling against the organization itself.🙂

Regarding Boldt... I have to agree with you there. Having drivers like Alonso and Seb on the grid is definitely an advantage—but let’s be honest, that’s only because their budgets and development resources are leagues ahead of what Lotus is working with. It's a different ballgame when you're comparing those massive operations to a team like Lotus.

But we aren't giving up just yet...🙂

Man, just explain it...

steelmaker83 said:lol, Alonso just happened to be inches away from the title twice due to pure luck, and the third time he actually posed a serious threat.

That guy is something else.

As for Sebastian, I’ll just say enjoy it while it lasts. It won't be much longer, and whether he ever does it again is a different question entirely.

🙂

Do you actually have any evidence for these claims? The season hasn't even kicked off yet and you're already whining and crying... just like all that noise about Alonso and Ferrari back in 2013...

What they’ve done to Ferrari is nothing short of a tragedy; I honestly find it impossible to believe that this is the same crew I spent my entire life rooting for... 🤮

Live - Oklahoma City Thunder vs Toronto Raptors 2nd quarter under 41.5 @ 1.75

edit: What a disaster... ended up hitting 48, those bench players were absolutely useless, couldn't even scrape together 15 points, then the starters just cranked up the tempo and blew it...

Luol Deng under 17.5
I’m taking this pair purely because Deng has been averaging about 13.3 points through the first three games, all while logging just 116 minutes of floor time.

Kevin Durant under 26.5
Looking at his performance over these first three matchups, Durant is actually following through on what he promised during those preseason interviews... specifically that he’d focus more on other facets of his game rather than just hunting shots.
The first three games look like this:
-against the San Antonio Spurs: 23-14-5 with 2 steals
-against the Portland Trail Blazers: 23-17-7 with 2 blocks
-against the Atlanta Hawks: 22-12-8 with 3 steals and 2 blocks

He’s also mentioned needing to cut down on turnovers and slow the tempo down a bit—and much like the situation with Deng, if we see a blowout, he might just sit out the end of the game...

The most intense part has to be when his crew finally manages to corner him, and then they actually let him call his daughter on her cell just to explain where he is, how everything went down, and what she should do next... 🙏 🙏 🙏

"Getting a podium at my home Grand Prix, my very first one... it’s just... you know... incredible. Unfortunately, we saw absolutely nothing from those highly anticipated Lotus's upgrades, and the car feels sluggish and frustratingly slow... honestly, it'll be a struggle to aim for anything better than a 5th or 6th place when we head to Korea.

That was easily his best race ever, considering he's driving that absolute junk heap of a Mercedes-Benz; if it hadn't been for that penalty, he would've walked away with points.

And once again, KA-MU-I!
