Religion classes in school - Megathread in Students & Teens ·
Susan James said:Actually, I think it implies the non-religious kids are twice as smart, since this is framed as extra credit or enrichment—basically, it's for those who want to go above and beyond.
The school will organize tutoring regardless.

And don't worry, if anyone is being left out here, it's just the kid sitting alone in the hallway after school.

Plus, what are the kids who don't take religion supposed to do? They don't need tutoring, but they shouldn't be left without any enrichment either, right?
What are they doing during those four hours at school? Especially for the kids in the after-school program who can't head home early. Even if it's just the last period of the day, they still need something productive to do.

Back when I was in elementary school, there were about seven or eight of us who didn't attend religion class. I recall that during the first year or two, the class was scheduled right in the middle of the day, so we would spend those one or two hours in a separate classroom across from the principal's office. The principal kept a close eye on us—we couldn't really get away with much or make a scene—so we just played together or worked on our homework. Eventually, they moved the religion classes to either the first or last period, which meant we either arrived at school later or left earlier.

At that time, nobody made a fuss because there were several of us, so it wasn't just one isolated kid, and we were always under some form of supervision. My school only had a morning session for all eight grades, anyway. I remember some students arriving well before 8:00 AM and being supervised by one of the teachers. There was a great deal of understanding toward parents who couldn't adjust their work schedules to fit the school's timing; they always found reasonable solutions for cases where kids had to arrive early or stay late (even beyond the standard after-school program).

It seems somewhat absurd to me that the question of what to do with children who opt out of religion class hasn't been resolved by now.
After touching base with the other moderators, I realized I might have been a bit too heavy-handed here, so please accept my apologies. I’ve moved your post back to the main discussion thread.
Again, my apologies for the oversight.

On our server, the system starts struggling if you even sneeze toward the monitor while the forum is open.🤣

That said, I'm all for it—I honestly couldn't care less.

I find myself in complete agreement with everything fadedsailor932 wrote.

In my view, rustydrifter10 lacks the fundamental competence required for anything beyond basic moderation. She simply isn't equipped to handle the inherent pressure of an administrative role; she fails to maintain any sense of objectivity, constantly shifting her stance whenever the wind changes direction. It’s impossible for her to make a firm decision and actually stick to it, which means she can't treat all the forum members with the consistency that such a decision demands. Her responses to posts are incredibly selective; she tends to ignore anyone offering actual substance, choosing instead to focus on trolls or jokes—even when those comments are directed at her personally—under the convenient excuse that, as an admin, she isn't obligated to engage.

As for the topic itself, if it were being moderated properly, it might actually yield something worthwhile. As it stands now, it’s better off being locked, because it’s doing nothing but generating an endless stream of garbage.

Moderation on the "small and thin dick" thread in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Frank Williams7 said:It doesn't. This whole thread is about something else entirely, and honestly, that idea didn't fly with the loudest critics here anyway. I've already laid out my own positions clearly enough.

Can we please stop diluting the discussion?

In that case, it was nothing more than a provocation.

And once again, you completely dodged the question I directed specifically at you.
Moderation on the "small and thin dick" thread in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Frank Williams7 said:Sure, someone could try to twist my words or take them out of context to make me look bad, but since calling someone "delusional" isn't technically an insult, I shouldn't be getting hit with a ban or a warning for it. Thanks.

I’ve got my doubts about Velia leaving just because someone poked the bear. As for VonTeese, I didn't really get that vibe from them.

She started this thread because she was basically calling out colbert's posts, but hey, if Velia wants to clear things up, she can. VonTeese could weigh in too, if they feel like it.

Look, I'm with you on that whole "same old users" thing. Honestly, most of the trolling around here seems to start with you anyway—just like that last stunt where you were begging everyone to "post a picture."

Why is everyone calling this a provocation? I even offered to post my own photo. Seriously. A thread dedicated to voting on who has the smallest junk is a provocation. Bringing up eunuchs after I just spent all that time laying out my actual stance is a provocation. And those condescending little comments calling my points "clichés" or "empty phrases"? Yeah, those are provocations too.

If you come to this forum looking for help but expect everyone to agree with you or play nice, you’re living in some kind of fantasy land. I'm not about to go around banning people or deleting posts just because some kid with a small and thin dick is having a psychological meltdown over his size. I'm not going to sit here and pat him on the shoulder like, "there there, it will all be okay." Not happening.

Niko didn't even ask for this. Honestly, we could probably cut down on the constant obsession with inches—you know, that weird habit where people assume a lack of size automatically means a lack of function. And let’s stop calling people "losers" just because they don't make length their top priority in the bedroom. It's exhausting.

Fair enough. If you want to turn into a picture, go right ahead. But if you're asking me why they won't just lock the thread? Well, because they won't. Simple as that.

Works for me.

You’re doing the exact same thing when it comes to trashing everyone else's opinions.

Where’s the smear campaign?

Back then, you claimed the guy had been to prison. In my next post, I deleted that link and explained how I’d actually found it. Look, I’m not perfect, but I’m not too incompetent to admit when I messed up.

But I didn't go around diagnosing you with a psychotic disorder.

The mods can review everything—the whole discussion, really—to see how your posts and behavior triggered those comments. Then they can decide if it counts as harassment or not and act according to the site rules.

Apophis, what you're saying goes way beyond this forum. 🙂

It’s not some special diagnosis.

Are you writing this as just another user, or are you claiming to be qualified to make these calls?

I mean, when someone claims they're being "stalked and followed" where nothing is happening, or when mentioning "fortune telling" in a thread about dicks is seen as an attack on Canadians, certain conclusions are just forced upon you. Someone with actual analytical skills should be able to see that.
Especially since this person is out here diagnosing others with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, which clearly makes them an expert.
Otherwise, it's just hypocrisy and double standards.

What are you getting at? Are you still standing by all this? 🙂

On one thread, I said a user showed plenty of signs of NPD. But I realized I was wrong, and I told him straight to his face.

My goal was just to show the other side of things—that the insults were clearly mutual, if there even were any.

Where exactly did you feel insulted by me?

You promised a photo, yet you haven't actually uploaded anything. Are you really expecting five or more people to strip down just so you, one single person, will finally show yours? Is your photo somehow worth more than what someone from Dell would provide?

cosmicskipper39 said:I've been looking over the situation, and frankly, it’s becoming hard to ignore how much noise there is surrounding this issue. It feels like everyone has an opinion, yet very few people are actually looking at the core facts. I remember back when I was working in Chicago, dealing with similar bureaucratic hurdles, and the frustration was just as palpable then as it is now. We need to stop dancing around the subject and address the underlying tension directly.. 😉

Generally speaking, that isn't allowed, but we're talking about signature cards here, and any moderator can issue those regardless of which PDF a user happens to be working on—as far as I'm aware. 😁

Personally, I’m all for implementing a blanket ban on anyone starting new threads unless they’ve actually bothered to sit down and read the rules in their entirety, 🙂 because quite frankly, there are certain things here that are just impossible to pull off without following the guidelines.
Partial ban on the teens? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
You didn't just push back against the moderators; you went out of your way to be provocative even after I warned you multiple times. That’s exactly why you ended up banned, much like several others did.

You haven't exactly shown respect for the moderation team, especially considering how often you chime in whenever a thread is locked or someone receives a warning or a ban.

You were slapped with a seven-day ban because you kept engaging in trolling and spamming.

Furthermore, since you don't have access to the disciplinary records of other users, you have no basis to claim whether they've been punished or not, nor can you sit in judgment regarding what constitutes material for a partial ban.

silentsailor5 and I are in complete agreement regarding the partial bans, and I suspect his stance won't be shifting anytime soon either.

I can easily lose hours just hunting for something fresh to listen to before actually hitting play. I also have a circle of friends with pretty much the same taste in music, so we end up constantly swapping recommendations to keep each other updated.
