Toy Story 4 (2019) in Movies ·
Nobody really knows what the plot for this fourth installment is actually going to be about yet. I guess you could say the whole production got shaken up by some major creative differences. Rashida Jones and Will McCormack ended up walking away from the project last November, claiming the studio just wasn't doing enough to support women or people of color.

Jess Christ 🤦 🙂
I knew 🤣 That guy would probably try to include a 90-minute clip of someone taking a dump, and honestly, he’d probably try to claim it was some kind of high-brow Dadaist art statement.

So, is the gladiator gonna go cuddle with a snake or what?🍿
Bad Times at the El Royale (2018) in Movies ·
I think the movie was great.
I can't really remember the last time almost every single person in a cast delivered such a killer performance (well, except for Dakota, who was basically just there for eye candy).
If I actually have to pick favorites, though, the receptionist and Jeff Bridges absolutely crushed it.
Chris Hemsworth had the most intense intro 😁, but I guess his acting kind of watered down as the plot went on.
Honestly, I’m pleasantly surprised; I was fully expecting a total snooze fest.

wearyangler55 said:I know people keep saying Carnage is supposed to be some kind of descendant of Venom, but honestly, looking at that after-credits scene, I don't really see it. Maybe I'm missing something, but it just doesn't feel right to me.

In the Spiderman strip, Kletus turns into Carnage once Brock becomes his cellmate, and then the symbiote just kind of reproduces through asexual reproduction. I guess maybe there's an unrated version of the story where things go down differently... maybe. 😬 🤣

...or maybe this movie just bombs completely so we don't have to deal with being bombarded by endless YouTube ads and TV commercials for Sony Carnage and the rest of them next year.

This movie is garbage. Just straight-up, unimaginable trash.
The dialogue is painful, the pacing is all over the place, there’s zero character development, the humor is terrible, and the cringe moments? Unbearable. And don't even get me started on the soundtrack—Eminem, seriously?? Plus, the CGI is so bad I was basically squinting through my glasses just to tell Venom apart from the other guy during the big climax.
I guess the only decent part was the chemistry between Venom and Eddie. Venom is such a goofball that it actually works as being kind of cute, I suppose. 😁
Also, honestly, what kind of insult is it to throw Stan Lee 1.5/10 into a piece of junk like this?

Doesn't really matter. I'll probably end up watching it anyway. I'm feeling pretty under the weather, and the movie looks pretty rough too—so, I guess it's a perfect match.

Honestly, I'm pretty surprised by this too. It's definitely got me wondering. 😁

That last "joke"... 🤦
Rampage (2018) in Movies ·
Honestly, this was a surprisingly fun popcorn flick. It actually had way more entertainment value than that Spielberg movie, Player One.
The gorilla is just too good 😬
Creed II (2018) in Movies ·
Just realized the name now.
The newly minted light heavyweight champ, Adonis Creed, is going head-to-head with Viktor Drago, who's the son of Ivan Drago.

Honestly, if the trailer wasn't actually pretty decent, I wouldn't have even bothered starting this thread.😁
Robert Downey Jr. used to be someone people forced into roles through connections and pure luck, but nowadays? People would practically kill to have him on their cast list.
"In my opinion," "if you ask me," "to my mind"—this thread is basically just a repetitive loop of those phrases.
There are nearly 7 billion people on this planet, which means there are billions of different takes out there, and we haven't even started counting the thousands upon thousands of movie villains.
Just to be contrarian, anyone could pick some obscure, bottom-of-the-barrel villain on the level of Mr. Joshua and claim he's the greatest ever, and then you'd have to deal with them arguing it.
But that's not really how opinions work.
I'm pretty sure if you averaged out every single opinion in the world regarding the greatest cinematic villain, The Joker would still be sitting right there on the podium, much like the poll results suggest. It’s mostly about recognition at the end of the day, rather than strictly the quality of the villain, even though searching for the "best" should technically imply that.

Even with this latest footage out, I don't think it changes much regarding the theory that Venom shows up in the final ten minutes of the movie.
I’m still not quite sold on heading to the theater for this one, honestly. But if we're talking about the voice acting? I’d give it a solid 5+.
Just being a regular guy, not some lowlife criminal
Need help – laptop under $650 in Laptops ·
Honestly, any laptop equipped with an SSD is going to breeze through the tasks you're looking to do.
Regarding that specific model at , it's a bummer because it doesn't actually have a Full HD screen.
If you're dead set on getting a Full HD display along with everything else you mentioned, maybe you should consider putting down a little more for $167?
It hits all your requirements and then some.
I actually own that exact laptop and I'm pretty happy with it. I guess the touchpad takes some getting used to, but if you aren't the type to deal with that, you can always just grab a mouse.

Kal-El said:In my humble opinion, if you set aside the whole Wolverine thing, Hugh Jackman gave a performance of a lifetime.

That’s... I don't know, hard to say. I guess it took Jackman almost 20 years to finally nail Wolverine properly, but when he actually hit the mark, it was unforgettable. In this movie, he gets the character right from the jump, but maybe it just doesn't have that same emotional weight he brought to Wolverine.
Mark White11 said:Look, I get that the movie itself isn't a masterpiece, but man, that song deserved an Oscar, period.
And I gotta disagree on la la Land—that ending? I'll be thinking about it for the rest of my life. Seriously, those were probably the best 10 minutes ever put in a musical.

I don't really agree with that first sentence, but I'm totally with you on the last part—it was a massive shock seeing how everything actually went down. Since my head was in such a terrible state when the movie first came out, it probably hit me even harder.
Top Gun in Movies ·
I've always found that movie incredibly boring, honestly, both back when I was a kid and even now that I'm an adult. I guess the only thing remotely interesting about the whole thing is Tarantino's theory regarding 🤣
