Republican Party - General Discussion in Political Scene ·
redbear12 said:Nah, she's in a way better spot right now than being some random member of Congress.

The woman speaks the language, her resume is solid, and she can find work anywhere in the world. ☕

Sure, person did run for office before, 🤔 but she was practically itching to escape person's thumb.

I mean, just replay all those drunken outbursts of hers from the Operation Desert Storm celebrations through the end of December 2019, and then maybe we can see if anyone actually wants to hire her.

Literally the very last shot of the movie, post #41 🤣

If they have Hemsworth in it, I'm definitely watching.

Given how much weight he was dropping, maybe the guy actually died.😲

Let's try something more contemporary 😁: Man on Fire. The whole movie.
Mark White11 said:The characters and the plot are pretty subpar, but the action is top-tier, which is basically all you want from an action flick. For me, it’s great—the fight choreography is on par with John Wick, though maybe a bit more brutal. It’s weird how Wick gets all the love from fans and critics while people seem to hate on this one.

I mean, Wick is definitely more brutal, especially as the series goes on. There isn't a single scene in this movie that tops the eye scene in John Wick: Chapter 3. And the choreography... it's just not quite at Wick's level because those fights feel almost like a choreographed dance. But overall, it’s not bad. I have to give massive props to the cameraman during that ten-minute sequence; total respect. 🙏
I agree, the Indian woman is more interesting than Hemsworth.

All in all, it's a solid action movie, but it's definitely not a masterpiece. The ending (just the very end) reminds me a bit of the finale of the last Rambo movie. 😁
Ramb Ps: when that "Stay down !" part happened, I kind of expected Russo to throw in an "I can do this all day!" line. 😁

Yeah, I end up losing a few pounds unintentionally too. If I just close my eyes and try to ignore the muscle fibers, the blood, the sweat, and the tears. 😬
Bad Boys for Life (2020) in Movies ·
Honestly, this was surprisingly good. Even if it's my favorite part of the trilogy—not that I have particularly high standards for Bad Boys.
It feels like they finally took a different, higher-quality direction, and they actually used the R-rating for something meaningful this time.
Thankfully, it’s not drowning in jokes like the older ones were, and the humor they did include felt pretty well-balanced.
I’m not exactly itching for more sequels, though; to me, this feels like the perfect way to wrap things up.
The only thing I really missed from the previous movies was that classic "Now that's how you ...!!!" line. 😁

nimblelynx7 said:And they’ll just roll out new ways to control us.

They came up with something truly twisted in one city. They rigged a drone with speakers and a recording of the mayor screaming. As soon as a drone spots someone failing to keep their distance, it swoops down and blasts the recording right at them. 😁

Compared to what's coming, 1984 is nothing.
At least people in India are upfront about it—their police will just zip past you on a scooter if you're out of the house. There's no fake politeness or pretending to be nice here.
Susan Barrett2 said:Here’s yet another way they're tightening the leash—honestly, where does this all end?

From the article:
To ensure greater citizen safety during the coronavirus epidemic, FEMA – the FEMA Regional Office Osijek, has implemented a centralized aerial surveillance system using drones to monitor compliance with National Emergency Management Center measures in the fight against COVID-19.

That’s how every single dictatorship justifies itself.
It’s honestly sad how most people just swallow stories like "it's for their own good."
How far would people actually go with these ridiculous slogans? Like, "neutralizing national security violators with specially equipped drones—all for the greater safety of our citizens"—I guess people would probably buy that too.

It took a while to get to the relativization and the whataboutism, I guess.
fadedranger162 said:Honestly, I’m kind of digging this April Fools' joke they're playing on us. They say the restrictions are going to ease up once we see five straight days of declining cases, but at the same time, they've ramped up testing everywhere—so obviously, we're seeing more positive results now. It's all pretty clever 🙏 🤣

I could spin this loop for months.
And if they ever decide to test everyone in America, those old cases will just resurface, giving Joe another reason to act. Even if there wasn't a single case of COVID left in the entire US, the Republican Party would find a way to stretch their reach and fake every single flu test to look like a COVID positive.
It’s a perfect mechanism to justify a long-term dictatorship.

Are we living in a concentration camp or something?

At this rate, the ten of us will probably end up brawling over the last bag of chips on the shelf at Walmart.
Small joys, I guess.

Look, you have this list of movies coming out in 2020 and it isn't exactly rocket science to figure out what they're about or how they'll turn out.
None of them seem worth throwing $13 away, I guess. I can probably just wait two or three months and watch them at home.
If some massive blockbuster like The Avengers or a new Superman happens to drop this year, then yeah, maybe I'd feel differently.

Eva Green's body.
I don't know, maybe I'm just being harsh, but Margot Robbie's hair... I don't know. It just looks a bit off here. Maybe it's the lighting or something, but it doesn't seem right.

ruggedfalcon28 said:The "Ghostbusters" syndrome is happening all over again. The people behind Birds of Prey are blaming "chauvinistic male pigs" for why the movie didn't make enough money.

They can blame anyone and everyone except themselves, I guess. Honestly, I’ve put myself on a self-imposed cinema embargo this year, and nothing worth seeing has actually made the trip to the big screen.
But if I hadn't, I definitely would've gone to see it—even if I am just some "chauvinistic male pig."

You’re burning somewhere around 1,700 to 2,000 calories just existing—and that’s if you spent all 24 hours lying on the couch staring at a wall. I guess any daily intake that falls below your basal metabolic rate is actually pretty bad for your weight loss goals. Food isn't the enemy here.

Man is just incredible 🤦

TRAILER:

It’s part of the MCU!!! That Vulture cameo actually jolted me out of this freaking boring trailer, and then when I saw 2:03, it’s just another nod to MCU Spider-Man.
