Drug Policy: Safe Injection Sites (SIS) in Health ·

So what, does that mean insurance shouldn't cover smokers for lung issues, or people who freeze to death, or alcoholics for liver problems (including when some drunk guy passes out and cracks his skull open)? What about divers needing decompression chambers? Where does it end?

Who the hell is funding this massive pile of useless crap with our tax dollars? ☕

And who actually suggested that?

You call up your family doctor just to ask if there's any chance of getting an appointment. As if they'd have one. I highly doubt it.
OB/GYN Discussion Thread in Women's Health ·
Wait, you said you're seeing a private doctor. So you’ll still need to get your prescriptions and referrals through Social Security if they need them, I assume.

There HAS to be a gynecologist out there with an opening.

Doesn't look like much wisdom to me.

Now why don't you let Jose Miller3 send you back to where you came from.😁

Find someone with an opening—ideally a doctor who actually has happy patients. You go see them, tell them you want to sign up, fill out all those tedious forms, and then I bet the whole process feels just like switching doctors all over again.

Forget the glass. They didn't even bother with that. First, they hauled that basin right up to my bed while I was still hurting like hell from the surgery. Then, they just left the damn thing sitting on the toilet so I could sit on it—saving me from having to mess around with a glass when my hands are shaking too much to hold anything.

Look, it hurt for a second when they put it in and a second when they pulled it out.
And since I’m chugging tea by the gallon and running to the bathroom every five minutes, my urine is so diluted it barely even stings anymore. 🙂

And this all went down at 10 PM. Before that, back at 11 AM.
Before they even put the catheter in, they pumped me full of 2.5 liters of saline.
With the help of the catheter, they filled one test tube and managed to pull out enough fluid to probably fill another one for all I know.
Given how bad things were yesterday, they told me there's a chance I won't be able to pee on my own, and if that happens, I need to head straight to the ER overnight.

Honestly, they should probably sue them for malpractice or whatever.

The people who handled me yesterday—from the EMTs in Seattle to the ER staff at the big city hospital—were actually great. Total praise. I was seen in less than a minute, which means they took me in immediately, they were super attentive, etc.
But look, I was literally begging for relief, needing 100 mg of Dolophine, and I’m not someone with a low pain tolerance or a drama queen about every little ache. So, I was definitely NOT in the mood for anyone's BS.

I don't even have an answer. I'm just sitting here laughing. 😁

Woke up this morning and was already at the ER within half an hour. Kidney stones.
Since they needed a urine sample and I couldn't exactly produce anything after chugging two and a half liters of saline, they went ahead and put a catheter in me.

Fast forward a few hours, flushed out about a liter of fluid, and finally got to pee on my own. It was absolute torture.
Is there any way to fix this? I have to drink massive amounts of water, which means I'm constantly running to the bathroom, and I absolutely hate it. Can anyone suggest something to make the stinging stop?

Edward Green said:How on earth are you farsighted when you have a negative prescription? 🤔 If I read you right, you listed your vision stats above and they’re all in the negatives. 🤔

The day after my pupils were dilated, I couldn't read anything up close. So yeah, with those lenses, I was farsighted. With the lenses. I use lenses to see, obviously.
That’s why I don't get how anyone can accurately judge their prescription while their eyes are still dilated. 😕

My pupils finally went back to a normal size. 🙂
The last time I saw him, he prescribed those drops to dilate my eyes because I was dealing with chronic conjunctivitis. The bacterial swab came back negative, and the chlamydia test was negative too.
He told me to just use Refresh eye drops. So, I am.

Nobody even bothered to diagnose my astigmatism when I was ten years old. Not once.
Not from any of them—whether they were private doctors or part of the big hospital networks.
Back when I actually wore glasses, they told my mom the cylinder correction was just there because my prescription was so high. Honestly, none of this makes sense to me now.

My mom keeps telling me she thinks all lenses look cylindrical when you have a high prescription. 😕

And how am I even supposed to get an accurate reading if my eyes have been trashed all day? I put my contacts in this morning, grabbed the solution bottle, and could actually read those tiny letters up close—I was honestly feeling pretty great about it. 🙂

Three days? 🙂
I don't own sunglasses. I’m just not a glasses person, so I don't have any, let alone shades. 🙂

Oh, so I’m just supposed to get huge? Then it won't be a problem if my pupils are huge too, right?😁

Lawrence Wells said:They gave you those drops specifically to dilate your pupils so the eye doctor could actually measure your prescription.

I don't have astigmatism. But apparently, these drops completely trashed my vision. My contacts were fine at 7:30 this morning, but by noon, I couldn't read a damn thing. I can't even see myself to put on makeup. Everything on my plate looks blurry. I practically have to duct tape my phone to the back of a semi-truck just to read a text message when the truck is half a mile away.

My right eye was a -4.75 two months ago. Now they’re claiming it’s -5.50.
It's obvious these contacts—whether it's because of the drops or some other issue making my sight wonky—are useless now. They worked before the drops. Now? Forget it.
My left eye was -2.50 two months ago, and it's still -2.50. But now, even with contacts, I'm nearsighted. Everything is a blur and I can't read. I'm trying to read a book about Nikola Tesla and it's impossible. Just impossible.🙂
The doctor was messing around with those little lenses they put in glasses. I think it has something to do with that cylindrical thing. Whatever.

And just so you know, without contacts, I can see things up close just fine. I don't even know if my distance vision got better or worse; the change is so bad it's hard to tell.

Now I have to go get a visual field test.
Maybe it's because my optic nerve is looking a bit lighter than it should be. An ophthalmologist told me that before and sent me for the test, which came back okay.
She also told me that people with myopia don't even need their pupils dilated to see clearly.

What a joke of an eye exam. First, they kept pumping drops into my eyes five different times, spaced out every 20 minutes. Then the optometrist pulls out this weird lamp thing—some kind of mirror with a tiny hole he looks through—shines a blinding light right into my pupil, and starts poking around inside my skull or whatever. 😁
