Everyone’s obsessed with checking the blacklist. Just so you know, you stay on there for another three years even after you've cleared the debt. You only get wiped from the list after that period is up.

I actually looked into this a few months back while checking out Goldman Sachs, if I recall correctly. You can pick how you want it paid out—monthly, quarterly, every six months... basically whatever works for you
Feels like I might just have to settle for monthly annuities and save up for the big stuff 🙂
Nah, it's just monthly or quarterly installments in equal amounts. Nobody's handing you a giant lump sum upfront.
From what I can tell, though, Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management offers a consumer loan for up to $10,000 over a 5-year term. They don't specify the fine print regarding terms or insurance requirements, though.
By the way, are you 100% sure you actually need this? Starting your life off in debt... hmm...
As far as I know, you can't just walk out with a bag of cash. If you're taking out a loan to cover tuition, you have to show them proof from your college or university first, and then they pay the school directly; you never even touch the money yourself. If you're looking at a student loan for living expenses, you get a monthly stipend that stays the same every month (and if I remember right, no bank is offering more than $350-$450 a month max).
EDIT:
Take this for example: JPMorgan Chase index loans, specifically for student living costs:
- the loan covers things like housing, food, textbooks, and study trips... - undergrads qualify once they've finished their freshman year - loan amounts range from $2,200 to $20,000 distributed in equal monthly installments - the monthly installment caps out at $325 in US dollars - the loan lasts as long as your studies, up to 6 years max
Maybe check with someone on a Canada forum or just hit up your bank directly. 🤷 I was talking about how things work in America, so things might be different where you are.
You'll snag a Dunkin' card with that salary no problem; they take it basically everywhere, plus you can pay in installments—they even added consumer credit options for up to 60 months recently. Just check their website; looks like you can even apply for the card online.
Maybe give it a shot and apply for an American Express or a Diners Club card? From what I know, Amex doesn't really have a set spending limit, they're accepted basically everywhere, and you can even split your purchases into installments.
Yeah, but we don't even know which card we're talking about. It gets even more confusing when you realize Chase doesn't even offer credit cards specifically for students, unless the guy starting this thread is actually talking about the Visa Mastercard affinity credit card for Fannie Mae members. And honestly, I have no clue how a Visa could even be classified as a credit card. 😕

Something is definitely brewing behind the scenes, and we are all just waiting for the final twist—that moment when it’s officially revealed that this is nothing more than a clone of some moderator.
I knew that felt sketchy right from the start; I tanned way too fast, and now I can't seem to get a tan at all. 🤷 😬

Vekjo, you're up next. ☕

I already know all the girls from Fashion (and the fashionistas over at Economy😁) will be signing petitions to get me back. 🙂😬

Here's a lesson for all the mods out there: if you aren't around for at least 2-3 hours at a time, don't expect to keep that blue username. 😬
