Freshman blowout: FER-05 edition in Music ·
Robert Wright4 said:Listen, man, was that sound system at the Spider venue yours, or were you guys playing in the Small Hall? It sounded killer in the Small Hall.

I can't say for sure since I wasn't running with the freshmen crowd, but if I recall, the setup in the Grand Hall belonged to some guy from Indianapolis I've never even heard of, while the Small Hall had the American Chemical Society gear.

Robert Wright4 said:Just got back. I caught about half of the Big President set. Honestly, I think their nineties era in Annapolis was better. That Kong stuff was just meh. And Eminem? Same old story, didn't really vibe with it. Just atheist rap nonsense. Didn't catch any Leut either, had to head out.

Banderas, correct me if I’m wrong, but I feel like there were plenty of empty seats left. There was a bit of a crowd only when Ed was on stage. But even then, just a little. The sound system was... well, let's just say Starbucks was the highlight of the night. 🙂

Can't really correct you, I wasn't 😢
Tomorrow's Company is sending me to Montpelier for a week, and since I have a mountain of prep work to do, I couldn't afford to be a total wreck today. 😢
Eto, after ten freshman orientations in a row, I figured it was finally time to skip one. 😁

But look at the reality here—NBC doesn't have any other slots available for music videos except for 7:30-8:00 PM 😁

Personally, I’m thinking you guys actually control the capacity and decide how many people get through the door. 😁>
Nick helps U-21 said:I don't get why everyone is making such a fuss. A national TV network shouldn't even be airing music videos in the first place, let alone ones with that kind of language. Beyond the fact that I actually agree with the lyrics, this isn't some massive scandal. The news media here loves to manufacture drama out of thin air. They'll label anything—good or bad—as a scandal just to get clicks.

In my opinion, a national TV network should be allowed to play music videos, but otherwise, I'm completely on board with the sentiment. If someone had run a poll a month ago asking, "Do you think NBC would ever air a video titled 'Motherfucker'?", I'm certain most people would have said no. Honestly, I doubt Eminem or his management are even surprised by the decision; if anything, this serves as perfect free publicity for them. 😁
The song itself is decent and the lyrics are interesting, but man, that title and chorus wouldn't fly on national TV during prime time in any country. In that regard, there isn't much difference between this video and that recent Green Day clip.

Tyler Grant86 said:Oh, you’re laughing? You’re a real comedian—calling it a "cafe" in some little pastry shop.🙂

Look, fair enough, but the fact that they actually call it the Kset cafe is just ridiculous.😁

Even over at Melina, they’ve still got that Gego cassette, "mama Jo son lud," sitting there from a decade ago. 😁

The factory wasn't packed? That’s a joke. Every single year, it is. Total nonsense. 😕

Maybe the posters should have just read "Hungry Joe featuring Zoran Predin." 😁

Sure, and I guess you could say the local burger joints in Chicago have decent sliders too.😬

Talking about some rude guy using Caps Lock that I can't even decipher—other than his obvious crusade to advance human culture. 😬

Alright, I’ll give one thing to boldscout72. You guys were actually acting civil for a minute there, so what happened? What went wrong again? 😢
😁

By the way, this is one of my milder rants lately. Just take a look at these absolute train wrecks:

1.

And then check out the comments from some "legendary" journalist, written in all caps:

2.

Followed by more shouting from our resident "expert" journalist:

Imagine how wild an FFa concert in Sarajevo would’ve been, especially if Gavrilo Princip opened the show.😁😁😁
Kevin Chavez3 :
Come on, Banderas, give me a break.

Whatever. You think Death disco is better, and you’d probably pick Funkadelic over The Beatles any day. 😁

I just can't wrap my head around this logic where global fame or massive commercial success somehow equals low quality. It's a flawed metric.
Of course, there just aren't enough C and C# tones available at once...
