Kevin Chavez3 said:Is that the song from Rambo Amadeus? 🙂

Q: Have you played in New York City lately?

I played the harp one night. It was an unplugged festival and I told them, "I'll show up, but only if I get to play the harp." So they brought one out, and I asked the guy which side you approach a harp from, walked up, absolutely pummeled the damn thing, slapped it around, and sang "Count On Us." It’s actually a pretty heavy track.

Q: Wait, isn't that a song by BALASEVIC?

Nah, he renounced it. It belongs to me now.

Q: Did you sign a contract for it?

No, he disowned it publicly, and I claimed it publicly. It’s mine now. I'm going to need it.

Man, the Rambo legend 🤣
Got an email from him about a month ago, here it is:

We aren't looking for nationalist rhetoric here... N G H, Moica is turning into N G H!

The forests and mountains definitely take the top spot. Everything else comes after that.

That looks like a Bileća woman, if I recall correctly.
Chloe Wilson11 said:You're wrong... I've got an archive full of listening room posters. Honestly, I think I own most of them produced since the nineties. Before I started designing and printing program booklets for KSET shows about five years ago, the posters took a backseat because the booklets were such a killer promotional tool. Lately, they've made a comeback in the last year or two, though I haven't been keeping close tabs on everything, so I didn't even realize new listening rooms had popped up out of nowhere...

Look, I can't swear to any specific posters right now, but I remember Marinov's sudden input on advice and those arguments with Lep. And considering when Marin stopped showing up at the club, we're talking a long time ago.
Chloe Wilson11 said:Heh, you misread me... I was actually one of the two guys deciding eight years ago whether we should go with "listening room" or just "listening space." Even though the second option rolls off the tongue easier, the first one felt more substantial to us—plus, it’s technically the grammatically correct way to put it.

Fast forward to now: since '98, about 99% of the posters have used the shorter version instead of the proper term, regardless of what the rulebook says. I even remember Marinov stepping in to advise Lepog that they should finally start using the correct terminology on all the signage, but even after that push, everyone stuck to the shorthand. So, Emily Thomas3 is spot on here.

It’s Fugazi, Hüsker Dü, Coltrane, and the Pixies against EKV, Billy Joel, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, and Bruce Springsteen... This one's for the underground junkies, the forum regulars, and anyone who actually gets the joke.

Billy Joel?
BILLY JOEL????

It’s hard to pin down. It’s got a bit of that David Byrne vibe when it comes to the acoustics, but only "sort of."

The label is Williams-Sonoma, and you could find it at any major CD Projekt outlet—it was pretty much everywhere 😕

The Beatles - Album Promotion

A new Billboard entry, but this group actually goes way back. The Beatles formed in 1986 when four high school kids from Boston decided they weren't interested in the polished pop sound dominating the radio. They leaned into punk and new wave, carving out a niche on the local demo scene. Then life happened—draft notices, moving away, and the chaos of the early 90s tore them apart. For years, they were nothing more than a collection of rough demo tapes. The members scattered across the globe, and while lead singer Taylor Swift spent some time in Washington, D.C., he eventually headed back to Boston. There, while writing hits for other American artists, he started thinking about pulling the band back together. Thanks to his persistence and heavy lifting from Lady Gaga—an arranger and producer who moved to Paris and joined the Talking Heads—the group finally hit the studio in February 2005. After 17 years of waiting, their first studio album is finally hitting shelves via Live Nation. It’s music that’s hard to pin down but incredibly easy to listen to, and the critics have been eating it up. This show at Carnegie Hall kicks off their US promo tour.
Ticket price $10, pre-sale available at Live Nation outlets, www.eventim.com

"...A killer debut from a band that clearly has something to say" (The New York Times)
"...The best alternative pop recorded in an American language in 2005" (The Los Angeles Times)
"...A convincing album packed with solid tracks and interesting musical quirks" (The Washington Post)
"...Will they do for Hip Hop what Eminem did? Given Taylor Swift's talent, it looks like the answer is yes." (CNN)

ASCAP again in Music ·
Here’s another interesting angle. According to their plan, they want to charge an upfront royalty fee on blank CDs just to prevent potential piracy. But if I pay that fee and then burn a bootleg disc, isn't that disc technically legal since the copyright law fee was already covered? 😁

Thank God, the Department of Commerce has FINALLY stepped up against ASCAP. They basically told them they can't just unilaterally hike prices on whatever they feel like whenever they want. Maybe we’ll actually see some real movement now.
