First there's the nausea, then the aches and pains, and everyone constantly touching your stomach! You gain a ton of weight, you can barely bend over, you're constantly snapping at your partner, and you're just an emotional wreck—one minute crying, the next laughing. Your chest gets bigger (which, okay, I'm not complaining about😍), but afterwards they just look like two little tea bags👎 and don't even get me started on the belly😲.....
And there's still more to it too....
...but once you see that tiny little thing, everything else just fades away😍....so you end up doing it three times anyway, no matter how much you say you hate it.😍
😂 😂 😂 The "tea bag" description for the chest... couldn't have put it better myself. Between the hormone surges, stretch marks, morning sickness, bloating, constipation, shortness of breath, dizziness, and sciatica... it's a lot.😁

He’s mostly just shocked that I actually need help sometimes because I’m such a fighter. I handle everything at home, run errands, carry the heavy stuff—he basically just provides the sex and the paycheck😂 and now he acts like it's a shock when I tell him to push the cart or carry the groceries... My little snail is a bit confused. I can forgive him, but people like this drive me crazy: "Oh, why did you go to Walmart alone if you aren't feeling up to driving? Oh, sit down, you must be dizzy..."
Same story over here.😂 To him, I look like a single woman because I do everything—the shopping, the chores, all of it. He’s nowhere to be found. On Sundays, he sleeps like royalty until 1 or 2 in the afternoon. I’m going to start demanding more from him. Especially now that I’m starting to look like a retiree myself. Tonight, I’m officially booking some massages.

As if I didn't have enough real stressors to deal with, now I have to obsess over my weight at delivery and whether I'll end up looking like a total wreck once it's all over.
Between you, Frank Jackson5, and all the other women here (and there are plenty of you), you're actually pretty lucky. I'm 29 weeks in and I've already put on about 22 pounds. Anyone want some?😁 I'm retaining water, too.🤦
fadedscout2 said:My mom is at it again... seriously! 🙄 I’m quoting her here: "Gosh, you're getting so big, every single time I see you you look heavier... (and she just saw me a week ago!)... it's like you're about to pop any second, hahaha! I mean, look at you (she points right at my shoulders) — you're just so... big everywhere..." And honestly, I just stood there staring at her with this pale, speechless look on my face..
Then, right as we were heading out the door, she eyes my T-shirt—it’s got a graphic print on it that’s a little stretched out, you know, because it was already a bit loose when I bought it and then the washing machine did its thing... anyway, she looks at it and goes: "Oh my goodness, look at that shirt, that's definitely from being washed too much... those things are practically bursting! How much milk are you going to have? You'll be a regular little dairy farmer!" I was just like, wtf...?? The whole dairy farmer comment actually made me chuckle a little bit, I guess, but all that stuff about my weight... 😲😲😲
And then my own mom tells me: "Just look at yourself... imagine how big you'll be by the end... you have a belly... some women give birth looking like that... but it doesn't bother me."🤷
Douglas Booth22 said:Precisely. It’s just as grating for me. I’ll order a Coke and immediately get hit with: "Oh, I couldn't have carbonation, I didn't drink bubbles while pregnant," and so on and so forth.🙄
Or it's when you're eating something and they hit you with the "that's so unhealthy" line. A friend of mine actually gave me a hard time the other day because I've put on ten pounds. She told me, "You'll probably end up gaining fifteen, that's way too much." So I just shut it down. Told her I'll be the one losing the weight, not her. That was while I was happily eating a slice of pizza. Whatever.🙄
And when you bring up beer... it’s immediately "make it non-alcoholic." That's always the move. Honestly, it's like people think a standard 4% brew is some kind of baby formula.
Or whatever: How far along are you now? Me: I’m basically at 7 months already... though how that’s so fast is beyond me, since I've only got about 3 months left. That's barely even 6.🙄 Not that I bother explaining things to idiots.🤣
fadedscout2 said:Oh, please, don't even get me started on all that heavy yard work and digging around.. 🤣 I can barely manage to pick up a single stray sock off the floor to carry it over to the patio just to hang up the laundry 🤣 ...And you know what really gets under my skin? It’s when someone asks how I’m doing, and I try to be honest—like, I'll say everything is wonderful, truly, but then I'll mention that my back is acting up a bit or that I haven't been sleeping great lately.. and then comes that inevitable response: "Oh, well, you know, it's just because you're pregnant, what else could it be?" I mean, seriously, wtf 😕
I tell everyone I'm doing just fine. I don't like to complain, because then you get those people starting in with the whole "back in the day" routine. They start preaching about how tough our ancestors were—how they’d spend all day out in the fields, working the soil, and women would just go into labor right there on the farm. Apparently, they'd just deliver the baby and immediately get back to digging. It's exhausting.🤦 At the very least. 😱
granitehawk472 said:Steven Harris16, thanks! Honestly, I tend to get a little worked up about these things... maybe I'm just overthinking it all, though. I guess I'll just wait and see how things play out over the next few days. 🙂
I don't buy the pregnancy thing... unless... unless🤔...he pulled a fast one and finished inside😁
Look... it's too early to call anything yet. You're going to have to wait and see. The temperature has plenty of time to drop, just like it's bound to happen, or stay high. Time will tell eventually.😉
Ran into my mom's best friend today, and I ended up telling her how much it matters to him that it's a boy. She just hits me with this, "Oh, well at least he'll be happy now... since it's a boy." Honestly, it felt like a punch to the gut.🤦 Me: No, he just cares that the baby is healthy and safe... Unbelievable.🙄 I already have a girlfriend and a boyfriend...
I don't get priority anywhere—not at the post office or even at the grocery stores. Given how things are lately, I've just accepted it. It’s not like I expect anything special. But every once in a while, if I actually get through a line quickly... like that one time at Walmart, just once. I only needed to grab some cereal, but everyone else had full carts piled high. In those moments, I actually feel lucky, mostly because I wasn't even expecting it.😍
vividhawk87 said:It honestly irritates me how my wife never shares anything with me; if I weren't constantly reading books and checking these forums, I wouldn't know a single thing about pregnancy. To make matters worse, she just flat-out ignores my questions regarding this persistent, recurring pain in my left ovary area that's been going on since the start of the T
Man, some women are just built different... mine is the same way. It's probably just from being pregnant...🙄 I actually thought it was pregnancy-related too... she really needs to speak up though. "Pregnancy" is a pretty broad term if you ask me.🙄
frozenpanther18 said:Ha, ha... I had a city bus driver slam on his brakes just so he could hop out and lecture me about "taking his right of way." Meanwhile, I’m walking out there with a massive belly and shouting "wtf?!" Seriously, man, get a grip.
I don't even bother arguing with idiots. You can't reason with someone who isn't sane. If he had actually done something wrong or stepped out of his vehicle, then I would have asked if he was looking for a ticket... Clearly, he hasn't had one in a long time...☕
So I’m crossing the street in town yesterday and this idiot just doesn't stop. He keeps rolling along like I'm invisible or he expects me to just freeze in his path... wtf?😕😂 Then he starts honking at me and shouting profanities. Just typical Smithsonian Institution behavior right there...😬
People really surprised me today... the decency is just gone. No courtesy toward pregnant women, nothing. You're standing there waiting in line and people act like you're invisible. Then you've got these others hovering, trying to cut in because they're so desperate to grab whatever they're buying. Like, seriously? wtf?😕
Being pregnant doesn't give you any kind of edge anymore. If you try to step ahead, you practically have to announce, "Hey, I'm pregnant, I get priority." And honestly, I don't feel like doing that. Look, man, if you can't see it, you just can't see it.🤣
And my neighbor... oh boy.🤦The other day she actually asked me if the baby had "come back to life."🙄 I told her: It’s been alive since the start, T. We even felt the first movements around seven weeks, though it was barely noticeable then. God, I hate that old-school way of putting things... "come back to life."🤣
