Dealing with schizophrenia episodes? in Health ·
Casey Palmer5 said:Psychiatrists here in the States... I've only met two. One was completely unhinged. As for the second, I thought he was sane until I sat for his psychiatry exam. Then I realized he wasn't exactly all there either. He started grilling me on Greek mythology instead of actual psychiatry.

Not really relevant to the topic... you just weren't paying attention during the lecture...🙂 🙂 🙂

Actually, psychology is deeply tied to Greek mythology 😉
and then some.
Their world of myth and tragedy is basically a mirror of the human psyche... served as the foundation for both Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung when they were mapping out how the mind works.
Are you living the dream? in Spirituality ·
Yeah, yeah, you eternal dreamer... but dreaming is always better than waking up... ideally, you'd just live in the dream forever... then comes the cold water to the face, dragging you right back to this miserable reality.

eso...
acting all tough when they couldn't be further from it...

so why does it even bother you, kid?
😁
Top two... but we're talking poets here... actual artists... not just some thugs...

Saul Williams and Roots Manuva 😉

The worst ones? Don't care about them... 🙂

Look, if Sea & Salt's 1 bedroom '03 is the standard, then it's easily my album of the year... just based on that opening track alone.👍

Besides, what does Sub Pop Records even know about release dates anyway..😁 😁
Nothing, pretty much just Mono vibes... minimal glitches, lots of hazy melodies.. shame there isn't any bass dub though😢

I don't trust Big Pharma one bit. It’s just massive brainwashing—"take this vitamin, it'll save you, it'll fix this..."
Look, it’s an industry just like any other. And I know how these things work because that's how I make my living... all that matters is the bottom line.
The pharmaceutical industry doesn't care about health... if you actually want to be healthy, you have to put in more effort than just walking into a CVS... 😉 But sure, it's easier to just swallow the suggestions and live in a fantasy world... until you hit 50 and some serious illness hits you.

Hey, look, darkbison81, it’s just a healthy dose of skepticism... and a necessary one. Especially since I know how medical studies actually work (and other 😉 stuff). They rely on pre-selecting tested samples... plus a few other methods. It’s all pretty easy to manipulate if you want to. 😉

I don't buy it, especially when those studies are backed by big French corporations...😉 get real..

darkbison81 said:Logic isn't even part of this conversation; I was just pointing out what the French healthcare system thinks about homeopathy. It’s purely unbiased info: after years of testing on the general public, the American health insurance providers decided they won't pay a dime for...
I didn't run the tests myself, so I can't vouch for the credibility.

Wow, getting pretty serious now... who are you trying to fool?

Over here in America, there's a saying:

Don't believe any statistics 😉

Don't believe any statistics you haven't manipulated yourself.

What kind of link is that? As far as I can tell, substances in solution actually work...🙂

placidjackal97 said:I'm with you, Luce. The base is just plant or mineral extracts... highly diluted.

Homeopathy works even on people who don't even know they're taking it. If there's research backing it, how else do you explain that?

Look, I'll say it again: homeopathy doesn't need your belief to function.

I used to be a massive skeptic—typical of me with anything untested—but it helped me through some pretty serious stuff. My dermatologist tried to put me on a month-long course of antibiotics that would've wiped out my entire gut microbiome...🙄

Ignoring the alternatives is basically just being brainwashed by big pharma into thinking their tech is the only solution.🙄

At the end of the day, everyone makes their own choices. I'll take conventional medicine IF nothing else works, but I refuse to pop pills for every little ache and pain. I won't do that to myself.

Finally, someone speaking from experience rather than just prejudice. You guys are hard to find...😉

placidjackal97 said:Herbal remedies and homeopathy aren't the same thing. Homeopathy uses highly diluted preparations (which might originate from a plant or something else), so there isn't actually any active ingredient left. The "active" part is just water that has "remembered" the substance that was once dissolved in it (we already covered the specifics over on Science, so I won't repeat myself).

What? Honestly, my deepest apologies for not keeping up with your incredibly vital discussions over on Science. I clearly missed out on all those groundbreaking conclusions you all reached...😁 Truly missed the boat on such important info...🙂 Water "remembering" atomic crystal lattices... right...😁 Good grief... homeopathic remedies work based on the actual plant matter within them. That’s basic stuff taught in med school... maybe not yours... but plenty of others... Ms. "We talked about this on Science"...

I mean... over in the West, they actually use this stuff for treatment. You can pick it up at any regular pharmacy, and even doctors learn about it in med school! No way...😲 seriously. 😉

Man, America... we really are stuck in the past...🙂

Bradley Fisher20 said:Homeopathy is just what people turn to when they think they're too smart for a local psychic, but they're actually too dim to see how ridiculous this kind of medicine is.

Maybe "too dim" is being harsh... ignorance is bliss, after all. 👍

Sounds like you're speaking from experience... so maybe work on that and find some clarity, huh? 😉

slycrane94 said:Basically, homeopathy runs on the placebo effect. It requires you to actually believe in it. Or at least, you have to genuinely want it to work. (Maybe you fall into that second camp).

It’s not dangerous because, at the end of the day, it's just water. They call it medicine, sure, but it’s diluted so much there's maybe a one-in-a-hundred-million chance a single molecule of the "active ingredient" even remains. You aren't losing anything. What actually works is likely the psychological component—the consultation and the analysis. Psychology matters. There's plenty of research on that, though unfortunately, mainstream Western medicine hasn't quite caught up in how they apply it...

Long story short: Go ahead and try it if you want. It won't hurt you. Unless, of course, you deal with someone who's a complete moron and forgets to dilute the stuff.
