Reddit is down... in Forum Help! ·
Honestly, trying to use Reddit lately has been a total nightmare.
It takes a freaking eternity just to get a single page to load—we're talking a full minute sometimes.
We already know the deal: apparently, some script is crawling through every nook and cranny of the site, and until they sort that mess out, the whole platform is basically running on life support.

Is there any sign we’ll actually see the site back to normal soon, or are we just stuck dealing with this garbage indefinitely?
Are we at our happiest as children? in Psychology ·
Look, speaking from what I went through, I had a pretty great childhood—I wasn't lacking anything, period—but man, I was constantly living in fear. It feels like I started realizing how heavy the world is way too early. And that anxiety just kept snowballing, while everyone else totally brushed me off. They’d be like, "What are you freaking out about? You're a kid, you've got a roof over your head, you're safe, what else could you possibly need?"
I was just way too sensitive, and instead of building up some grit, I just ended up getting completely overwhelmed by it all.
I threw myself at everything under the sun trying to fix it, but nothing actually worked.
Honestly, I'm just pissed at myself now for throwing in the towel so early on.

I don't think there's some magic one-size-fits-all answer here because everyone's path is different. Every single experience is its own unique beast. But it's a cold hard fact that most people are at their happiest when they're young, mostly because of that bubble we live in—that feeling of being untouchable, having zero responsibilities, and having that raw curiosity that turns into actual passion.

I would give anything to have squeezed every last drop of potential out of those years because it would have paid off big time. It's too late to turn back the clock, but it's also damn hard to focus on the future when you feel like you're just ignoring the mess of the present. 🙂

Looking at all the similar threads floating around here, I’ve kind of gathered that most people don't really solve their issues; they just pop in, vent for a bit to blow off some steam, and then go right back to their old habits. They have their ups and downs, I guess, until they eventually find themselves opening yet another thread!🤣

Why the hell do you think that is?? 🙂

It’s probably not because they don't have a clue how to fix their own mess; it's more like they're just screaming for help without actually saying the damn words.
Forum advice is all well and good, but let’s be real—it rarely sticks when you actually need it. We’re all out here begging for a hand because we can't pull ourselves up by our bootstraps alone, especially when the people around us aren't giving us any real support or the kind of motivation needed to actually change things. It’s like trying to run a marathon in quicksand; you just end up spinning your wheels in the same damn circle. 🙂

I'm totally with you on the big picture—the real fix is just to sit your ass down, shut out the noise, get your thoughts on paper, and finally pull the trigger on a decision. But man, it’s always the same damn story: right when you feel like you're finally catching a break or gaining some momentum, life decides to throw a massive wrench in the gears and makes everything ten times harder. 😁

At the end of the day, if you aren't bringing that relentless grit and pure discipline to the table, you're basically just spinning your wheels and going nowhere fast. That's just my two cents, based on all those nuggets of wisdom I've picked up along the way. 🙂

melloworca6 said:Yeah, right, that's exactly what the people running ads think too—that if they spread their crap across different threads at different times without being too obnoxious, nobody will notice. But they *will* notice. 😁 You can literally just click on a user profile, hit "view all posts," and see exactly what, where, and how they're talking (any regular user can check that). This guy you're talking about, who drops 10 posts in two days consisting of nothing but emojis? He’d probably get slapped with a red card or banned as a spammer in a heartbeat.

I hear you, I really do. 😁

Look, I don't want to sound like some petty snitch or someone holding a personal grudge, but honestly, I'm not feeling the way papirlove handles moderation. I've noticed him constantly just dropping emojis, even though he actually knows how to drop a comment every now and then. Plus, the way he talks just feels totally out of line for a Forum.

I went back through his history, and just looking at the Los Angeles FC thread from the start of the month, he's got 8 posts like that, even if there's actual text mixed in sometimes.

So, what's the deal? Is a spammer only someone who posts *nothing* but emojis, or is it also the guy who drops maybe 50 emoji posts in a month alongside 300 legitimate comments??

There are hardly any emoji-only users on this Forum, but if someone has 15,000 posts and maybe 2-3% of them are just emojis, that's fine... 🙂

I used to think logic was my strong suit, but maybe I'm losing it... 😉

Man, I guess I totally misread the situation. I thought you were saying that just dropping a single smiley face in a post was what they didn't want.

Basically, here’s how this looks to me:
If someone spreads those posts out properly—like, say, hitting ten different threads over two days at regular intervals—they aren't getting flagged as a spammer. But if someone hits six or seven posts in a row and leaves a smiley under every single one without spacing them out, suddenly they're acting suspicious and getting labeled as spam?? 🤣

Honestly, I hadn't even noticed anyone actually doing that. Usually, it's the people opening a dozen pointless threads back-to-back that really jump out at you.

Maybe we should just implement an actual "Like" button feature, because right now people are basically using those smileys to "like" stuff, which just makes the threads a total mess to scroll through.. 🤷
Forum Rules in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Nah, I honestly think that’s just blatant vote-padding. It doesn't personally bother me, but I’ve noticed this pattern where people are just cranking up their post counts on that PDF file.

That PDF acts more like a fan forum with much looser moderation, so you see tons of posts that would normally be out of line being totally ignored, but seriously, I keep seeing people just dropping emojis where they could just quote an entire image instead of using a single smiley to weigh in on the topic.

If that isn't spam, then what the hell is? What kind of "spam" are they even talking about when they bring up that sub-rule about posting??

Even the moderators themselves are spamming exactly like that, so there’s really no point in reporting them. If they’re the ones running that PDF, let them do whatever they want. I’m just here asking for some actual clarity on the rules, assuming anyone even cares to settle this.
Forum Rules in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I don't see why we need a whole new thread just for this, so I'm just gonna drop my two cents right here. 🙂

One of the rules in that PDF lays it out pretty clearly:
2. Posting guidelines [post]

Basically, just posting nothing but emojis is a huge no-no. If you've got absolutely nothing of value to say, then don't feel obligated to spam the board. Also, quit going overboard with the smiley faces—two or three is plenty if you're trying to show some "mood."

But looking at the thread I started, there are already at least six or seven posts that are nothing but emojis, not even counting all those other "serious" discussions. It's wild because even the moderators are out here spamming like that themselves.

Look, I'm not exactly a regular on that PDF, so maybe my take doesn't carry much weight, but I wanted to point this out here to hopefully clear up the contradiction with the actual rules. 🙂

Algeria vs Austria vs Dinamo/Dinamo to win in the 1st half @2.15 PSK

Out of all the picks on the board, this one is calling my name loud and clear. You can't sit around waiting for things to happen; you’ve gotta come out swinging from the opening whistle and bury a goal immediately. They were robbed by bad luck in that first half last time, so they better snatch at least one golden opportunity now, or else... 👋

Stuttgart vs San Francisco 1 @1.30

Look, San Francisco is objectively a much stronger squad than they've been lately, but they’re still incredibly green and lacking that veteran experience. On the flip side, Stuttgart is stumbling through a crisis right now and basically needs this win just to salvage their entire season. I’m leaning toward a Stuttgart victory because they looked physically dominant in that first game, whereas San Francisco mostly just relied on pure grit and the wild energy of their die-hard fans—their actual technical quality is still a notch below. It’s a completely different ballgame here, and I honestly don't see them finding their footing in this kind of environment.

Let's try to cash some tickets today: 😛

Rijeka vs Stuttgart BOTH TO SCORE @1.75

I’m expecting a total shootout here. Honestly, neither the Rijeka nor the Stuttgart defense looks even remotely solid, and both offenses are definitely going to exploit those gaps. With the crowd going wild, I'm calling it—both sides are finding the back of the net.

Texas vs Sheriff 1 @1.90 (top) PSK

Texas is absolutely on fire right now. I watched them absolutely steamroll an expensive Orlando City SC squad right in the middle of Istanbul, so why wouldn't they handle Sheriff at home? They have this massive chance to break into Europe, and they're playing with insane confidence. I'm taking the win.

Nomme Kalju vs Dnipro 2 @1.20

I honestly don't see what kind of miracle could save the Estonians from getting wrecked in this one. They already got dismantled by Plzeň, and now they're facing a high-quality Ukrainian side that isn't about to let anything slip through their fingers. An easy away win for the visitors is basically a lock.

Jesse Campbell said:Look, Los Angeles FC belongs to its members, right? It’s everyone's club.

Well, sure, Liverpool and Manchester are "everyone's clubs" too, but let's be real—the big-shot businessmen call all the shots, and those fans who don't feel connected to that corporate identity just go out and start their own teams. What's your take on that?

The powers that be will always crush the masses when it comes to privatizing a club; authority beats the crowd every single time. If I recall correctly, there's a club over in England called Ebbsfleet United where regular folks from all over the globe can actually put their money where their mouth is and decide the club's fate without the higher-ups breathing down their necks.

Is it even a pipe dream to think Los Angeles FC could ever turn into something like that, maybe even anytime soon?

Honestly, I’m terrified we’re just stuck in this endless loop of nonsense. ☕
Bad Boys - Part IV in Fans ·
I’ve been told to stay away from this forum, but I’m gonna sneak in one last time just to ask a legitimate question: 🤣

Basically, I'm wondering if the Boys have ever seriously considered starting their own club from scratch—you know, kind of like how those die-hard Liverpool fans did when they got fed up with how the owners were running things?

It feels like you guys are constantly stuck in these endless, exhausting battles, and honestly, who knows how many more of these fights are coming down the pipeline? Or is it your whole life mission now, just to lead these protests and make sure you get all the credit for being the "resistance" against the higher-ups?

The US only really shifted once Franjo Tuđman left the scene, and frankly, Los Angeles FC won't see any real change until Mamić finally kicks the bucket. Once he's gone, some other dictator will just step into the vacuum, and we'll be right back to this same messy, uncertain struggle. Isn't it a bit hypocritical to sit around praying for someone to die just to get what you want, even if it feels like the only way out?

I'm grabbing this bundle right here:

I’m telling you, betting on Ludogorets to take this one at 1.60 is basically throwing money straight into a shredder; it’s like expecting a high school JV squad to hold their own against a powerhouse from Alabama—totally delusional!

The odds on a blowout for the home favorites are basically a joke—it's like betting on a heavyweight champ to knock out some amateur in the first round; just take the easy money and move on.

Betting on the Split giants to take down Dila? Honestly, at these odds, you’d have to be absolutely delusional to pass this up. It's basically free money if you actually know anything about the game.

jadewolf16 said:Thursday at 6:00 PM.

Betting on the underdog to pull off an upset against a powerhouse like Atlanta United? Man, you've gotta be kidding me. I'm taking the home side at 2.70 all day long—it's basically a steal if you actually know anything about the grit this squad brings to the pitch!

Look, I’m totally not buying this. This team just isn't cut out for the big leagues, honestly—it doesn't matter if they're facing a powerhouse or some random underdog club from halfway across the world that nobody's ever heard of.

They’re gonna feel the loss of Miller big time—the guy was basically a human shield for the defense whenever things got messy. Sure, having Thompson back in the lineup helps, but let’s be real: losing that level of grit is a massive handicap for the Blues.

Look, I’m factoring in everything here—the brutal travel schedule, these rookie kids being completely out of their depth, and the fact that the opposition hasn't even blinked, let alone conceded a goal, for nearly three straight games. We’re basically staring down a mountain where we need to drop at least two on them just to stay alive, so yeah, it's a total mess.

Look, I’m not even saying they’re guaranteed to pull this off, but if anyone can protect a lead like that, it’s gonna be the Diligence squad—they're just too disciplined and tight-knit for anything else to happen.

Look, on the flip side, the visitors are heading into St. Louis with a 2-1 cushion from the first leg. Honestly, the home crowd is in for a rough ride because this local squad looks absolutely lifeless right now—they can’t buy a goal to save their lives, and they’ve been playing shorthanded in their last couple of matches too. After that disaster where they got completely dismantled by a top-tier club last season, I’m fully expecting them to finally step up and actually show some backbone here.

Honestly, there’s not much point even talking about the Galaxy. Even though the drama surrounding the club is absolute trash right now, they’re still way more talented than those guys from Moldova, and I really hope they actually prove it out there in Tiraspol. 🙂

Adam Collins2 said:Call me whatever you want, I don't care. There’s always going to be this constant friction, people spamming nonsense, and everyone throwing insults left and right. The real issue is how some people get slapped down while others get a free pass during these massive group meltdowns aimed at anyone who doesn't fall in line with that pathetic little clique of incompetent hacks. And don't even get me started on the trolling. Every single thread about the Lakers gets absolutely nuked by this collective vomit directed straight at Mamić. What's even the point of starting a discussion about the games when it just devolves into the same old repetitive drama about Mamić and banning anyone who dares to disagree with them?
Pathetic.

We won't take what's theirs, and we won't give up our own! 🙂 That's the "groupthink" for you. ☕

Yeah, I totally agree, they go way overboard calling out anyone who doesn't jump through their hoops. "You're a Mamić supporter, you're Satan, you're poison, you're trash..."

It's basically either you're one of us or you're against us—there is no middle ground... 🤷

Adam Collins2 said:Let people complain about my posts all they want. I couldn't care less about the karma points I rack up with my entries. The real issue here is how biased and hypocritical this whole moderation setup is—it’s pure double standards. Every single thread involving the Lakers turns into an unreadable pile of garbage because everyone just goes straight to bashing Mamić. Honestly, I wish someone totally unbiased, like Anthony Jackson2, would take a look at that specific topic, because it's basically a perfect microcosm of how every Lakers discussion on this site goes down. But hey, if the admins think this kind of lopsided moderation is totally fine, then whatever.🤷 At least we finally know where we stand outside the wolf pack.

Look, would you actually want someone calling you a washed-up horse or some kind of freakish ant-monster? It’s just straight-up trash behavior to be posting stuff like that on Reddit.

I’m totally with you that there’s a massive double standard going on here, even if trying to police this whole mess isn't exactly a walk in the park.

I was the first one to step up and suggest we set up some kind of Education Hub over there, just so the basic facts could finally be laid out in black and white, you know? Maybe then people would actually stop tripping over the obvious. Just a bunch of potential trolls looking to stir the pot. Look, we seriously need to get a much clearer picture of what's actually going down here.

Look, the whole thing is just a total clusterfuck, exactly like you said in the title.

Reddit Rules:

The TL;DR version
Basically, all our rules boil down to this: Don't be a jerk to others, just like you wouldn't want them being jerks to you. Cut out the fighting and the insults, and actually try to contribute something useful to the community.

Look, this isn't about whether you feel like defending people who aren't even part of this site or not. It's about trying to maintain a semi-decent, chill vibe here on Reddit, which clearly isn't happening in the cases we're looking at right now.

People are out here calling each other pieces of trash and lowlifes—is that supposed to be normal? Is that really the kind of way people talk if they want to keep things friendly among users?

Anyway, you stated your points pretty clearly, so if that's how you feel, then stick to it. I'm just laying out my own take on the whole mess, so take it or leave it.

This whole PDF thread has basically turned into a massive dumping ground for people to vent their personal grudges over every little "unfairness" they think is happening to them.

Reporting posts is honestly a waste of breath because the subtext is pretty obvious:
"We need to let our own people blow off steam however they want so our side stays loud and proud, even if they have to resort to the most low-life, gutter-tier insults to do it."

Just look at these unpunished posts from the thread starter:
http://www.reddit.com/showpost.php?p=4...&postcount=301

http://www.reddit.com/showpost.php?p=4...&postcount=393

And then you'll hear them argue that the mods are being "lenient" during game days compared to this stuff. 🙄

Here’s what one of the moderators actually said:
http://www.reddit.com/showpost.php?p=4...&postcount=398

Furthermore:
http://www.reddit.com/showpost.php?p=4...&postcount=448

I reported this specific post myself, but absolutely nobody did anything:
http://www.reddit.com/showpost.php?p=4...postcount=4195

Anyway, there's plenty more where that came from, but the picture is clear. The mods are just gonna ban anyone who dares to disagree with them while letting their buddies talk as dirty as they want.

So, if you actually value your sanity, my advice is to just stay far away from this PDF. ☕
