Dust mite allergy help needed in Health ·
Frank Chavez3 said:Hey,

I've already done everything you mentioned. We still see them around the house, especially when it's humid. Back home in California, whenever the wind dies down and the sun is out, they seem to disappear. I'm not positive if I'm actually allergic, but lately, I've been dealing with symptoms—waking up with a scratchy throat and a stuffed-up nose and all that.

Have you tried that Acarosan spray or something similar based on Benzyl benzoate?
I haven't tried that yet, but I've been reading nothing but good reviews online. Apparently, you just spray it on the bed and around the house and it lasts for six months. They say it absolutely kills the mites.

Best!

How do you see them? I live in California too, and I've never spotted any mites. Can they actually be seen with the naked eye?

fadedmarlin402 said:Forget all that nonsense about hitting two or three liters a day. Honestly, the best advice is just to listen to your body. 👍 Forcing it won't get you anywhere.

Exactly.

I tried that once; I just ended up with a headache.
Drink when you need to. Don't force it.

Though, drinking slightly more water than my usual tiny amount (since I tend to be chronically dehydrated and feel it in my kidneys), seems to reduce bloating. It makes me look slimmer, even if the scale hasn't budged an inch.

driftingseal30 said:My period is usually regular (every 28 days), but this month I started on Oct 4th (day 28 of my cycle) and then again today, Oct 21st (day 17 of my cycle)... has anyone else dealt with this? What could cause an irregular cycle? I haven't been under any stress or anything, so it's bothering me a bit...

Could it be ovulation spotting?
You didn't mention how many days it lasted.

The same thing happened to me about ten years ago. I bled on day 15 of my cycle, nine days after my period ended. It wasn't even painful; I just went to the bathroom and saw blood on my underwear. Not sure, I think it lasted maybe 2-3 days, perhaps less. That was a long time ago. I asked my doctor what it was, and he just told me it was 😕. He actually smiled when he said it—told me it wasn't serious. Said other women experience it too, blah, blah... Me: Hormones, cysts, nothing... Him: Other women too...

Looking back, I had incredibly painful periods for that entire year, which was unusual for me. As for stress, who knows. Now it feels worse than usual, though I don't have any other issues.

So, be wise now.

My doctor suggested I aim for two liters of water a day, but I simply

can't manage it. Overhydration just gives me a headache.

I stick to drinking when I'm thirsty—sometimes more, sometimes less.

I've put on a few extra pounds (far too many, actually 😁), and my skin is oily... No matter how much

water I consume, nothing seems to change.

I suspect it might be hormonal, so I'm scheduling some tests soon.
It’s impossible. Personality is forged over a lifetime.

Even core convictions—political leanings, life philosophies... they don't actually shift. They merely soften or drift toward the extreme.

While scrolling through the political threads on this forum, I’ve noticed several users arguing that certain American politicians or public figures have fundamentally changed their personalities or values in their 40s or 50s.
In my experience, that simply isn't how it works.

As the old saying goes, you can change your look, but you can't change your soul.
Samuel Morgan40 said:I often wonder about their liver health... given they're still breathing.

It's true. An acquaintance of mine, who consumed liters of Coca-Cola daily, ended up hospitalized with liver damage. He was subsequently banned from all carbonated drinks for life.

And he was only 23 at the time.
Is it okay to go braless? in Women's Health ·
Exactly. In most stores, if they carry anything larger than a size C basket, it’s treated like a major event. I try shopping at specialty boutiques in San Francisco, but I’ve only managed to find two. Most places stop at size C, though you might occasionally stumble upon a D. 😲😕
MRI scan: Do I need a referral? in Health ·
I am unclear on what you mean by a "self" diagnosis. 😕 Presumably, a physician would need to provide the referral for an MRI first.

When I had knee issues, I saw a private doctor who gave me a recommendation for an MRI. I could have gone through the hospital system—where the wait times stretch on for months—or just gone privately.
Naturally, I chose the private route. I went to the Mayo Clinic in San Diego, secured an appointment within two days, and paid $533.

dustypilot22 said:Alcatraz, Dakota, Gradiška? 🤷

My late father-in-law was sent to Alcatraz. I never actually met him, nor was he particularly political. He served eight months and simply returned home.
Another neighbor of mine managed to land a political prisoner's pension, despite having no such credentials. He was actually just embezzling from his own firm. Ended up serving time at Alcatraz.
crimsonjackal63 said:What you're saying is just a flat-out lie. Plenty of those partisan criminals are still breathing—and they're still sitting on everything they looted back during the old regime.

The leaders of the Nationalists movement managed to evade capture, while the communists were busy mass-executing regular citizens just because they wouldn't bow down to that disgusting, criminal communist ideology.

That's the plain truth!

Not every partisan was a communist.

Just as not everyone in the Nationalists were criminals.
So, I’m the product of a partisan lineage on both sides, married to someone whose family was tied to the Nationalists with

on one hand.

I suppose you could call it a reconciliation? 🤷
brightwolf17 said:It’s fine, really. Just take it as a pretty bad attempt at a joke. 🙂

Fine.
It is genuinely bothersome when people on these forums label my husband—who spent five years on the front lines and sacrificed his health for this country—as some sort of fake veteran. I am telling the truth. Since I cannot use real names here, I won't. But the guys from the 1st Infantry Division know exactly who he is.

I am just a forum user; I am not a veteran myself, nor would I claim to be.

P.S. Today marks the 17th anniversary of the loss of four soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry Division (Frank, Jerry, Antonia, and Martin; may they rest in peace).
brightwolf17 said:Maybe you swapped husbands or sons-in-law sometime in early August? 😁

No, I wrote it with... One. Foreigners. On my father's side.

My mother-in-law's mother was a veteran of the resistance.
dustypilot22 said:So, what is it that the French are missing? 🤷

A massive, powerful, influential nation built on a billion traditions that draws in more tourists than anywhere else on Earth.

What could possibly be lacking there? 🤷

I disagree. This is about bringing together Americans of all different ideologies under one common goal: building and preserving the American state.
As far as I know, aside from Harmon's era, there hasn't ever been a true National Unity Government.

Actually, no... that expansionist model relies on seizing territory.
We aren't talking about territorial claims here; we are talking about national unity between those at home and the diaspora, following a model that helped elevate places like Ireland and keeps Italy traditionally prominent.

Like I said before, I honestly can't understand how anyone could look at PEACE and see militarism or the rehabilitation of extremists.

It remains a complete mystery to me.

It isn't a reconciliation if you still look at the descendants of the resistance fighters as nothing more than thugs or lowlifes who belong back in the woods.
Even when they fought together in WWII.
I am simply quoting statements from this Forum.
Angela Hughes9 said:Criminals like your father-in-law actually had both the opportunity and the incentive to torment the actual political prisoners alongside the guards. They were practically given special privileges for doing so, you see?

My father-in-law was a son of an NDH supporter. A son of an anti-communist. By definition, he’s a true patriot, and as such, he wouldn't be caught dead tormenting inmates alongside the guards. He simply doesn't fit the profile.

From what I heard, his stint in prison was due to some comment about Marshall.

As for the criminal I mentioned earlier—that man is currently collecting a pension as a political prisoner, even though he never was one. Back in the 90s, some people claimed they were held at Alcatraz just to secure political prisoner status, despite having done nothing wrong. That's my neighbor we're talking about, not my father-in-law.

Honestly, I don't think it's our concern. To each their own.

Dealing with hemorrhoids in Health ·
Mark Harris2 The user states:
Greetings to all.

I'm curious if anyone here has been using this for a longer period. Hemoglobin oil. How is it working for you? Does it actually help? I’ve only been using it for two days, which isn't exactly enough time to make a real judgment. The pain during and after bowel movements persists... so I am hoping this does the trick. My biggest issue is the occasional constipation and that frustrating inability to get to a restroom when the timing is inconvenient. It just ends up being delayed. 😲 Good grief.

I have it. I use it occasionally. Just enough. For hygiene purposes. Personally, when I dealt with hemorrhoids, it didn't do much for me. But to the Fact, it's true.
