Is it okay to head to the track? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
neonraven8 said:I can still hit the track whenever I want, day or night, but you have to use the side entrance—you know, by the parking lot over at the SoFi Stadium area where the trash bins are located.

I'm not sure if this is still a thing, but last summer some security guard wandered by just before 10 PM and told everyone running to wrap it up by ten. We stopped coming that late after that, so who knows if anyone else has run into that lately? 🤔
Know Your Consumer Rights in Economy ·
What happened to you is just chocolate bloom—and honestly, it definitely happened because someone didn't store it right during the summer heat. If you want to file a complaint, just grab your receipt and head down to the grocery store where you bought it.

And don't even get me started on putting it in the fridge; that's not the fix. Chocolate actually tastes best at (normal) room temperature.

You seriously need to check out this site http://home.goulburn.net.au/~shack/.
Seriously, go look!
I was hitting the clinic three times a week for those shots, and honestly? It barely lasted a few hours before it wore off.
I was on those Roche injections. Man, the side effects were brutal—it felt like I was coming down with a massive flu. Just constant fever, shivering, and feeling totally wiped out. It would last about three or four hours and then just vanish like nothing ever happened.

fadedpanther4 said:slyhound5, how long were you actually putting Contratubex on that scar?

I'm still using it, but I'm pretty sure you gotta stick with it for at least 3 to 6 months to see anything. I heard someone raving about this other cream, Medgel, so I might give that a shot too.

YankeeZul, my bad for bringing this up on OT 😉

I honestly think it actually worked for me. I had this nasty 8-inch scar with about 38 stitches in it. After a full year of using it, those little stitch marks aren't even visible anymore and the whole thing has faded out a ton.

I’ve been slathering my surgical scar with Contractubex.
Question for hikers: How do you guys say hello? in Hiking & Mountaineering ·
boldviper said:So... how much do those high-altitude traditions actually apply to the trails on Mount Rainier or the Appalachian Mountains? Is the move just to stay silent and stare at your feet? Real classy.

Unfortunately, people don't really stick to the rules on these busy trails. Sure, actual hikers will always give you a nod, but the problem is there's a massive crowd of people who don't know the first thing about hiking. I guess that's why they find the whole tradition so weird.
Question for hikers: How do you guys say hello? in Hiking & Mountaineering ·
boldviper said:We’d always greet those rare head-on collisions while hiking up—even though I think the rule is actually for the folks coming down to say it first.

Look, the tradition of greeting people on the trails is still very much alive. But let’s get one thing straight: the etiquette is that the climbers heading up should be the ones to initiate the greeting. It’s a way to show respect to the people who already conquered the peak and are making their way back down.🙂 .
Local or general anesthesia? in Health ·
So, I recently went under for surgery with local anesthesia and honestly? I didn't have any major issues or feel like total garbage afterward.
Tattooing over a scar? in Health ·
So, I’ve got this scar from a straight cut, maybe 6 inches long... No keloids or anything, just a thin line and some little dots from where the stitches were. A buddy of mine suggested I either get a patent seal tattooed right over it or maybe just use the scar as a base for some bigger piece. What do you guys think? 😉

If you're talking about the PAP test, I remember it being right around $100
. And hey, don't expect a full blood panel from your OB-GYN unless they run a quick coagulation test first just to see if you can even handle being on birth control

I’m heading over to the vocational training center for the blind in downtown Chicago... ...and honestly, the place is awesome. Plus, it doesn't break the bank at all!

I didn't pay a dime for mine (at the local cathedral), and then my folks ended up getting the painting stolen right after!

I'm with you on this one—my coworker paid the exact same amount over at the Mayo Clinic.

Young, fit, charming, and smart? Please. Since when did we start checking boxes like we’re shopping for a used sedan at a local dealership? Give me a break! Who even decides these things anymore? It’s all just superficial nonsense! 👍

Ugh, I’m heading to see Dr. Gudelj too... 👍 👍
Best online payment cards? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Scott Johnson45 said:They exist, they totally exist.

Diners or Amex have released ones just like that, specifically for online shopping.
Just look it up online.

I’m guessing you're aiming for the Blue card or that Diners e-card... honestly, unless you work there, you probably aren't getting either of those.🙄

neonorca11, if you're still a student, just grab a Diners student card or have your parents set you up with an authorized user or a junior card... seriously, surf through the Diners and Amex websites and see which one actually fits what you need.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but getting a VISA or a Mastercard is basically impossible if you don't have steady employment.

Oh, and forget about pre-paying and then spending the money—those are just debit cards, and you'll find they rarely work for online shopping (trust me, I tried it with a VISA Electron once)... with credit cards, you only deal with the billing cycle once a month.
