Badgers said:We would’ve absolutely crushed them back in '98 if we’d actually made the final. One hundred percent. It just goes to show how teams act way tougher than they really are. In reality, they aren't worth a damn.
And what makes you such an expert on how that would've gone down? You some random pundit on ESPN trying to play fortune teller now?
Our league isn't even that much better than theirs. Honestly, all the neighboring leagues are pretty much on the same level. It really just comes down to a few points.
Right now, there isn't a single powerhouse national team in Europe. Honestly, there just isn't. We don't even have any real star players. Just look at the lineup of absolute nobodies they started with this season.
England is the ultimate example of an outlier here. Those clubs survive on foreign talent. If you stripped away all the international players from the Premier League, they wouldn't even have enough local kids to fill out a starting lineup. 😁
But there's still a connection to be made. It’s hardly surprising that the Canadian league is struggling, much like their national team. That goes for most countries, really. And honestly, it makes sense why the old American League was ranked so high back in the day. Red Star was a top-tier club, and the country itself was massive. A bigger nation means more players, higher quality, and more cash.

Honestly, the way MLS is looking right now is just depressing.😲 It’s a joke.😎 😁
Actually, those things are pretty tied together. There are exceptions, sure, but leagues churn out players for national teams—at least, that used to be the case before guys like Kovach, Joey, and the rest started showing up in waves😁. I don't see why a club from, say, Bulgaria or the US would be stronger than a club from the Peruvian League. Do you actually know how good Peruvian clubs are, or are you just guessing? Pretty sure it's the latter.
I have no idea why this ranking is being treated like such a shocker. It didn't blow my mind when we got hammered by Ecuador or when the US took down Portugal, and I certainly wasn't surprised seeing how Japan and Korea stepped up during the last World Cup. Honestly, most of you don't even realize how high-level Iraq can actually play. Soccer is played all over this planet, not just right here. Lately, the quality in Europe has been pretty lackluster, if you ask me. Anyone thinking the World Cup should just be a collection of European teams plus Brazil and Argentina is dead wrong. You'll see everything play out for yourselves in a year and a half.
The answer is pretty simple: they aren't nearly as good as everyone claims. They just don't produce elite players. Italians are always churning out someone like Baggi, but the Spaniards just don't do that.
If they hadn't included that stupid invasion of Japan at the end, the movie might actually have been watchable. If you ask me, they should have just wiped them out right there. Real war heroes die in the end. Rambo doesn't count, though—he's not a soldier, he's just a guerrilla.
I caught it last night. It’s not a bad flick. Fun, sure, but maybe a little too confusing for its own good. Whatever, I'll probably just watch it again whenever it hits DVD, so I don't really care either way. 😁

I wouldn't be shocked at all if Ronaldo ends up as the top scorer again, even with an Eto'o-Ronaldo playing this hot... he'll just cruise through it without anyone even noticing.😁
He’s already sitting on 8 goals, yet he’s acting like he’s sidelined with an injury. Word is he just wants to extend his vacation back in Brazil.
restlesssurfer97 said:He grabbed his first one while he was playing for Barcelona.
Right, you're correct. My bad. I didn't realize he picked up three of them, and I definitely should have known since I'm the one out here claiming he's the best player on the planet. I honestly thought he only took it home for that first and last season at Inter Milan.
Robert Evans said:That’s actually pretty interesting. I can't even begin to wrap my head around this. It’s just nonsense. Total garbage. There is zero logic here, and honestly, if you actually believe this, you’re beyond help. I'm done wasting my breath on it.Romario, I don't know what you're trying to say. You just dropped a single letter. If you have a point, make it. Otherwise, stop wasting space.Rivaldo, I'm still waiting on that update. Get to it.Ronaldo, I don't know what you're trying to say. You just dropped an "R" and left. If you have a point, make it. Otherwise, stop wasting everyone's time.Ronaldinho. everyone BAll the arguments fall apart when you look at the facts. At the exact moment they were hoisting those trophies, they were all playing for the same clubs. It’s that simple. BBarça
😲
Pro tip: If you’re Brazilian and your name starts with an R, just get ready for the race to Barcelona. 😬
It wasn't Ronaldo. He picked up that award while he was playing for Inter Milan.
