Feeling extra thirsty lately? in Health ·
It makes sense.

Just bump up your salt intake—that'll help you hold onto some water.
I mean, look, it’s totally fine to drink a ton when it’s summer because you’re sweating like crazy anyway.
Hitting up to 3 liters of water is perfectly okay.

Honestly, you might as well just fall in love and get hooked on running.
Especially if you’re already into swimming—then you’re basically unstoppable. 😉
Full Moon tonight in Health ·
stormymaker24 said:some recent study. whatever. "tradition," they claim. they think they know better, so they head outside and yell, "hey, there's a full moon tonight, everything's gonna go to hell!"—as if things aren't already a mess every single night.
go look at the actual data before you start talking. 😬

And that’s exactly what they base their "statistics" on.
Full Moon tonight in Health ·
Seriously, just go ask any cop on the beat, and they’ll tell you the exact same thing—calls skyrocket during a full moon. We're seeing way more interventions, especially all kinds of violent outbursts.
And it's always the South Side, obviously.

So, according to some old-school belief, the full moon supposedly "pulls" water through your body toward your brain—kind of like how it triggers the tides in the ocean—which is why everyone goes absolutely nuts during this phase. 😁
And apparently, you’re not even supposed to schedule surgeries during a full moon because they say you bleed more easily.
I’m actually doing alright myself, though my period is totally draining me.
But hey, nothing else really hurts.
Plus, I actually slept pretty well last night.
My only regret is that I didn't stick to my cycle-syncing diet today. 😁

What a total circus of a thread.
How to heal from childhood emotional neglect? in Psychology ·
Harold Anderson3 said:Yeah, that’s exactly it. No matter what you achieve, it’s never sufficient; they'll find some way to nitpick even your biggest wins. Sometimes I think it might actually be healthier to just move on and not have them in your life at all—if you can even call people like that "parents" to begin with...

You just have to accept that your parents are the problem, not you.

Harold Anderson3 said:Most people hang out by grabbing a beer, catching a game, or getting lost in video games... but none of that really appeals to me. If you’ve ever dealt with depression, you probably understand what I mean.😉
I’m also dealing with another issue that I didn't even realize was a recognized thing in psychology until recently. I can't quite put a clinical name to it, but it feels like this constant, intrusive thought that just takes over, making it impossible to focus on anything else or even think straight. It’s like half of your brain is being held hostage. It’s honestly pretty awful.
All of this—including the depression—just makes things difficult, whether I'm trying to hold a conversation or just focusing on my studies.

It's all that garbage you had to listen to growing up that messes with you.
If people are constantly drilling it into your head that you're a failure and that nothing you do is good enough, eventually, you're gonna start believing them.
Honestly? Screw parents like that.

James Allen6 said:Walter Myers4, I suppose you could try to consider that people can be quite sensitive, even without you labeling them so negatively based on your own limited perspective.
I know a guy who used to be incredibly withdrawn and a bit odd—he dealt with some serious family chaos too—but over time he completely opened up and actually turned his life around for the better.

Well, newsflash: I'm sensitive too. I don't just go blabbering about stuff I don't actually know anything about.

It’s rough. And honestly, if you've spent your entire life dealing with nothing but garbage, getting used to actually having something good is going to be a massive struggle.
People like that—the ones who've been stuck in that mindset forever—are just heavy, dark souls who can't even stand to see someone else happy.
Maybe you'll manage to open up a bit down the road, once it finally clicks that most people out there aren't total disasters like the toxic crowd you grew up around.
Either way, man, it’s worth it to hang out with decent people, try to find some positivity, and actually attempt to enjoy being alive.
But look, you're gonna have to completely rewire how your brain works.

So you finally stumbled upon G-tock 😲 🙏 🙏
Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Listen up, if you're on the pill, remember this: you absolutely have to up your B-complex intake !

Seriously, using oral contraceptives often drains your B vitamins, which is probably why you're feeling all those symptoms you mentioned. It makes total sense.

The pill can totally wreck your levels of certain vitamins and minerals. That’s why I always tell women taking them that they really need to be looking at B2, B6, B9, B12, plus Vitamin C, E, magnesium, zinc, chromium, and selenium.
NyQuil actually works pretty well—it knocks down a fever and kills that headache fast enough.
It clears you out and gives you that boost you need.
Just grab that. 👍
Don't even bother with Voltaren, especially if you have to be on your feet all day. You'll be stumbling around like a zombie.
Honestly, NyQuil is a total lifesaver for me.

Also, you seriously need to load up on B and C vitamins.
Flu symptoms in Health ·
Everything hurts, honestly. I can't even tell if it's just from the heavy lifting and pushing myself way too hard, or if it’s because I was out there fighting the wind yesterday trying to dry my hair. 😁
Whenever things go sideways like this for us, we just whip up a massive batch of white risotto loaded with garlic and pancetta.
Plus, I swear by a specific diet for when you've got diarrhea.
It’s totally possible you’ve got some Candida running wild in your digestive tract—honestly, you can clear that right out easily with just one single capsule.
Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
I was taking it just to keep the bleeding down.
Some women take it to help stay pregnant.

Basically, it balances out your hormones.

DABROSTON tablets are used for things like:

1. Hormone Replacement Therapy
To counteract estrogen effects on the uterine lining during HRT for women going through natural or surgical menopause who still have their uterus.

2. Progesterone Deficiency
Treating conditions where there isn't enough progesterone, such as:
- painful periods
- endometriosis
- secondary amenorrhea
- irregular cycles
- dysfunctional uterine bleeding
- PMS
- threatened or recurrent miscarriage linked to proven progesterone deficiency
- infertility caused by corpus luteum insufficiency.

blueheron46 said:That was hands down the worst thing I’ve ever had to take. I popped them for maybe two or three weeks just to get my period started, and they absolutely wrecked me. 😢 I felt bloated like some kind of parade balloon, food sounded disgusting, and I ended up getting super hairy (like, actual facial hair😠) so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.👎

not that everyone reacts the exact same way, obviously...

I highly doubt you suddenly became hairy from that. That was probably just your natural state, and the birth control just messed with your cycle.
The thing is, as long as you're on the pill, you aren't going to bleed. Once you quit, that's when the bleeding starts.

No, it’s a hormone supplement.
