I honestly don't know... I'm not exactly a regular at live shows, and beyond that, there isn't really a specific genre I'm obsessed with. To be perfectly honest, I'm not even that "critical" when it comes to any particular musical movement! I just don't know how to tell if a concert is actually terrible or if it's just... mediocre? You know what I mean?
Chill out! Honestly, there were just a handful of people who took your rant way too seriously. Why do they always do that? 👍 😁

No kidding, I’m down for whatever. Look, my main priority when heading out is making sure the crew is hyped and the vibe is just right. Honestly? Whether it’s at a Metallica, Blind Guardians, Dälek, Groodanje, Therion, or Children of Bodom show... it doesn't really matter to me! I actually worked myself into a total frenzy at that Atheist rap gig, and they were absolutely killer... except for the fact that the frontman is the exact same drito konj 😢 and the drummer is none other than spike_* 😢.
😬 🙂It was totally surreal, almost like watching Forum Stars band live😛.
The sheer NOISE might have even been enjoyable if my two dates 😉 🤣 hadn't been standing there arguing about... I don't know, wasting time. To be honest, I haven't a clue how you're supposed to dance to that stuff (and no, I don't mean strictly dancing in pairs—I mean grooving, headbanging, and all that 😛—you know Wronže well enough to remember I ended up at the Supersuckers show in just a undershirt) . Long story short—if that high-energy crowd I remember from the Suckers decides to hit up any show, just drop me a note... PrittPen and mrkva both have my number, so get a group chat going and let's make it happen.
I’d invite you guys out too, but I honestly don't know how you'd handle dancing to a heart rate of 120 bpm at a kozarački club while dodging bass drum beats like they're bullets during the chorus 🤣 😂 .
Who was talking about the Supersuckers?! Seriously, those guys absolutely rock. I mean, dude, I’m a freaking windsurfer—of course I listen to this kind of music!
I was actually thinking more along the lines of that one concert where... oops! 🙂 ... I completely forgot that the bassist for that particular "attraction" is actually one of our own here on the forum! 😬
forum NHF man ali What on earth was that?! Seriously, what just happened? My heart is still racing! Was that even real? I am absolutely stunned! 🙂
gentlepuma20, look, you can't just force people to "convert" to alternative music or whatever you define as "quality music." As long as there are people out there whining about what they don't get, you’re going to have fifty clubs playing Top 40 hits and maybe three playing anarcho-metal-post-punk noise (in my humble opinion, mind you—not that I'm judging, since I've endured a few shows at KSET... barely, but I did...), and you all will just be seen as annoying. I have a ton of friends who listen to that "alternative" stuff I can't stand, but they get as excited as kids with a lollipop when a concert comes up. They don't just show up; they practically get physically ill from the lack of such music! They're mosh pits outside the venues or hosting house parties where they blast that noise. (And honestly, even I show up sometimes because I can actually have a good time regardless of whether the music is my cup of tea... I'm not a militant about this stuff). I mean, seriously, whether it's some Caveovski-style gloom or a Radiohead-esque "pain-misery-sorrow" moan (and don't come at me saying that isn't "real" alternative, because you can categorize any genre until you're blue in the face and always find some more controversial sub-genre), or if it's that metal style where it sounds like "they trapped us in barrels and threw them down the Niagara Falls while recording with ten-cent microphones from Walmart."
Pop clubs don't just magically open up in sync with the local scene only to have the crowd beat up the band and have the police haul everyone away. Judging things by the logic of "I know what good music is, and those five hundred thousand other people are just losers" is... well, it's kind of teenage, isn't it? I spent a long time searching for a relatively normal adjective 🙄.
Maybe people just don't view music as a religious experience? Maybe they just care that something is playing in the background, that they can dance to it, or that they can drunkenly scream along to a chorus that's always just a bunch of "hey!" calls ( 😂 ). Get it? I listen to plenty of pop, some "commercial" rock, mainstream hits (even the oldies, like the classic Magazin or Nov fosil), and even some trashy country, and I don't pretend it's woooooaaaaaargh-level art. When I want that woooooaaaaargh-level art, I go to one specific place, and I truly believe you won't find it anywhere else except there, or somewhere similar—like Lincoln Center.
And if you feel like there's "not enough" of "your" music, whatever that may be, help yourselves! When I first "discovered" country, it wasn't even the modern stuff (it was actually more old-school, without the drum machines), and anyone brave enough to listen to it was basically social suicide—people would look at you like you were crazy. So, I "helped myself" via the internet, and at my own parties, we play whatever the crew wants to hear (and no, it hasn't always been country, though it often is).
Dustflower, Goldberry (Maria Peterson) put it so beautifully. And here I was, thinking it was just common sense for all those pretentious music buffs out there! 😉 😛
What an absolute clown. What a complete moron. His supposed "facts" and whatever "insight" he thinks he’s providing in this article are buried under such a layer of the most obnoxious, sticky, and malicious garbage that it's actually impossible to read. 🙄
I’m feeling cautiously optimistic at this stage! I’ve been diving into *The Matrix*, *Cyberpunk 2077*, and *Spawn*. I even caught a few episodes of *Neon Genesis Evangelion*—though the audio keeps cutting out on the later ones for some reason 🙂 😠—plus a bit of *Star Wars Squadron*, which I remember seeing back in the day on *Disney Channel*.
michael_jackass said:I just can't get into these movies, period. I mean, don't get me wrong—they look incredible! The cinematography is absolutely stunning; it's a total feast for the eyes. But the actual plot? It loses me every single time. In my opinion, those classic old-school martial arts flicks had much tighter stories. A master gets killed, the student goes on a revenge mission, and boom—that's the movie! Simple! But these newer ones? Nothing really happens. They just travel around, bicker, kiss, and then die. Who knows... it's just not my cup of tea.
Just like those golden sugar cookies Boys are strolling down the street And I’m just being totally silly Why am I so worked up? Because I have no clue where you could be right now!
The movie is a total bust. I didn't catch it when it was airing on network TV, but if any of you lucky folks have a copy and could digitize it onto a disc for me, I’d be eternally grateful! Or look, casualotter21, we could just meet up? We can get it done at my place—I've got a TV tuner card—under strictly controlled conditions, and you'll get your tape back immediately 🙂
Who on earth decided that folk music isn't worth listening to? 😁
Besides, I suppose that’s why the local dive bars are absolutely packed every single Saturday night—because heaven forbid anyone actually enjoys some good old-fashioned American country hits! 😂 🤣
Jonathan Palmer said:I can't ride with you, buddy your tires are bald as hell the seats are shaking violently in your Mercedes-Benz....
era Ojdanić & Remi - Mercedes.
The guy (era) looks exactly like he could be Mate Bulić's brother! 😂 He’s got that rugged, old-school country vibe going on, appearing at shows in traditional folk attire—you know, those white baggy trousers, a vest thrown over the top like something out of Lado, paired with those hand-stitched leather boots.
As for Remi, she’s giving off total Bulgarian Ella or Valentina vibes... you know, that high-energy dance sound, reminiscent of Karma or Colonia, with all those heavy mixes, effects, and filters layered over the track. It’s actually quite catchy, that polished pop style, almost like Indira on her first cover, Vatra and Led. But honestly, her collaborations with Mexicans just seem to boil down to these kinds of oddities.😁
Good movie. I mean... what can I say... damn, this is Blade, not Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Draco is a cool guy, but... he's unrefined. A few hints in his dialogue suggest he could have been much better characterized. Blade is... too quiet. Mute, silent, acting all cool when he actually looks like he just got hit in the head with a wet rag. King is easily the best thing in the film. Little Whistler is just... blah, your typical modern female 'action' hero. Tank top, nasty attitude, and weird gadgets.
The only truly irritatingly poorly acted and generally nonsensical thing is that vampire girl 'with teeth in her vagina.' Come on 🙄 She is annoying, whiny, and just... I don't know. It feels like vampires are progressively becoming stupider with every new Blade installment.
To me, vampires should be either like that guy whom other vampires kill in... a duo? Or a unit? Or like the main character in Underworld.
I can handle arrogance and swagger when it's tempered by age, experience, obvious 'patriarchal' charisma, and some kind of aura of ancient power. But when some Sex and the City thirty-somethings in makeup-heavy urban outfits, 'neonates,' start squabbling and fighting... come on, they are asking for it.
I like how Draco looks like a youthful figure, because honestly, if a guy can choose how he looks, of course he's going to look badass. They really should have used some... I don't know, acting tricks or script changes to build in some sense of... ancientness and authority.
To me, he seems like a Russian mobster (and he looks like one too); everyone is afraid of him because he is the strongest and once you've bowed down to him for some drug, you can never be sure he won't shoot you 'on a whim,' rather than having a bloodright to rule as the damn progenitor of the race.
Vampires, I say again, are becoming more and more like the 'Russian mafia' and less like the 'Italian mafia.' Just a bunch of moronic power-mongers and jerks who don't understand that their position and apparent superiority rely on the laws of a very natural and very precise balance.
A solid flick. Great snacks, even better company, and a fantastic ninety minutes well spent! It’s the perfect kind of movie where you can shout out your commentary or mess with your friends in the theater without feeling guilty—in fact, it actually makes the whole experience more fun! 😁
