I guess Branagh actually managed to make something even worse than Murder on the Orient Express. Maybe this is his last Poirot film? Honestly, I think we've had enough.
neondriver7 said:I mean, let’s be real, when you look at it compared to other movies in the exact same genre, it’s clearly "diversity." You have hundreds upon hundreds of films centered entirely on white characters, and then you have this one single movie focused on Asians. It's just something different, plain and simple. That's where the whole "diversity" label comes from.😉
Aside from the intro, this is probably the only smart post in this entire thread.
You might want to wait for one of the other moderators over at Soap Opera to weigh in on that first part, since I guess I don't really keep track of which American actors are the leads and which ones aren't. 😉
As for the second thing, Lies is more of a telenovela than a drama series, so that's probably why it's categorized under Soap Opera. 🤷
slytinker11, oh, my bad, I guess you probably caught all of that since you're always reading and posting on the Netflix thread... or maybe it's just because you're BFFs with that one forum regular? 🥳☕
Michael Ramos4, I guess it’s just kind of wild how you spend like 90% of your posts totally trolling way past the limit. It doesn't really feel like you're sharing an opinion, more like you're recounting stuff that didn't actually happen... or maybe it just happened in your head? 🤷 And then when the other regulars (you know, the few who haven't put you on ignore yet) point out that you should probably stop, you somehow manage to keep trolling while playing the victim, like, "Oh, don't mind me, poor me... I'm just... expressing myself." I mean, doesn't that get old? 🤷
You were warned about this stuff, you got a strike (and eventually a ban), and yet, I guess, you still don't seem to get why your posts are such a problem? Honestly, honey, I'm almost at a loss for words here. 🤷
For everyone else who is still enjoying the show (and the debates), like Nathan Turner3 mentioned—the thread opens up tomorrow morning and it’s going to be strictly moderated.
I honestly have no idea who you guys think gave a bad performance here? 🙄 Or is this just one of those things where it’s like, "Oh, they're American, so let's just start blasting their acting immediately"?
Ethan Hayes2 said:Maybe he was just looking for some kind of feedback on a series before he actually sits down to watch it himself, I guess. Maybe?🙂
So, I was just sitting here thinking... what if you took all that constructive criticism and, I don't know, maybe put it into a PDF format for the movie? It might work, I guess. Just an idea. Maybe?
I guess it might be better if we didn't start whole threads about movies unless we've actually sat down and watched them ourselves? Maybe. I just think it could keep things a bit more grounded, I suppose. Just a thought!🤷
Or maybe about those people who are just starting to get into the movies... I mean, you know, the ones who are totally new to the whole cinema thing. It’s kind of interesting, I guess. They have that wide-eyed look, like everything is brand new. Maybe they haven't even figured out the popcorn situation yet. Or the seating. It's all so much at once, probably. I wonder if they realize how much there is to see. Anyway, just a thought.😕
I mean, I guess you don't really have any constructive criticism to offer, do you? Not even a little bit.
Feedback on a series filmed back in the 1950s? On Hidden Valley? I mean, where is the actual discussion about it? Most of what I'm seeing here seems to be like, 99% focused on shows from 2006 onwards or whatever... I don't know, maybe I'm missing something, but I don't think that's really what this is about.
I mean, he could have just dropped that question in the spoiler chat, right? Instead, he went ahead and opened like five or six different threads about old shows without actually adding any real commentary. It’s just stuff like, "Hey, did you guys watch this? I heard it was good, thinking about starting it." To me—and I think my fellow moderators would agree here—that feels a lot like straight-up spamming. Maybe he didn't realize, but it's a bit much.
It’s like comparing apples to oranges, I guess. Other sites are just... different. I’m talking specifically about Reddit here.
In those examples you brought up, we're looking at movies that hadn't even hit theaters by the time the threads were started, so I suppose it's impossible to really give any kind of solid commentary on them yet.
I find it honestly kind of fascinating how you act all clueless. It’s not really an issue that you’re starting threads about old shows. The thing is, you open the topic, paste the synopsis and the cast list, and then... nothing. You don't leave a single comment of your own. And you've been doing this for weeks now, I guess.
Look, Larry Walker24, don't go playing the offended damsel here. I never actually said he was your clone; I was just reacting to what Martok wrote where he linked the two of you together. ☕
I think I’ve made my point clear. Honestly, just flooding the boards with replies when I’m the one who started the thread doesn't really count as contributing anything meaningful... it feels more like spamming to me, I guess. 🤷 But hey, you be the judge. 🤷
So, you disappear for a week, show up out of nowhere, and then just drop a thread about some ancient 60s show with a synopsis and the cast list, but without actually saying anything about the series itself. I mean, the Unshown section is supposed to be for actual discussions about shows, not just for mass-producing threads
And honestly, if it turns out you're just a carbon copy of Larry Walker24, you probably shouldn't even be hanging out on Television anyway, since Larry Walker24 is basically halfway to a permanent ban there. ☕
Oh, come on, you can't really be complaining now. 🤣 I mean, the girl sitting next to me at the theater was practically sobbing by the end. 😁
It feels to me like we don't actually get much focus on Daria since the whole movie is told through lein's eyes—you know, just how she perceived everything happening around her. 🤷 The biggest plot hole, though, has to be that missing proposal scene; Stephen just suddenly tells Ivy that Thaddeus asked for lein's hand in marriage out of nowhere. 😕
Leah and Daria is an American biographical drama released back in 2011. It follows the life of a young actress from Los Angeles named Leah Deutsch and her friendship with Daria Gasteiger. The film was directed by Branko Ivanda. I think they started filming around June 2010, and it actually had its big premiere on July 16, 2011, during the opening of the 58th National Film Festival in San Francisco. After that big debut, it hit theaters in Los Angeles at the local MLS team arena on January 29, 2012.
It’s been out in theaters for quite a while now, so I guess I’m curious to see what you all think about it. 😁 Personally, I thought it was pretty good, though maybe—I don't know—it felt like there were a few plot holes toward the end. 😁
