Michelle Ward4 said:Fine... did I ever actually say I agree with everything he stands for or that I'm backing him up? How would you know if his comments haven't personally insulted me? I'll admit some of his insults miss the mark and definitely cross a line, but honestly, half of them can be backed up with actual video and audio evidence. Even after watching countless episodes, I still don't get why some people subject themselves to public humiliation and embarrass themselves over and over again.
You’ve turned this whole debate into a personal attack, passing judgment on people based on just a few posts. It’s pretty harsh, really... reminds me of someone. 😉

Yeah, sure... I'm basically Simon Cowell's alter ego. 🤣

Look, the entire concept of that show is total garbage; it only exists because it provides mindless entertainment for the masses who are happy to live on bread and circuses.
It has absolutely nothing to do with music, or Susan Boyle.
You hypocrites and moral monsters want to frame the Susan Boyle story as this "heartwarming human interest piece" where some outcast can succeed through "talent" while everyone else gets stepped on.
Exactly—I don't see her as some ugly freak, but that's how the public perceives her, which is why they lean into that narrative so hard.
At the end of the day, it's just about some musical gurus—like that absolute jerk, scumbag, piece of trash Simon—making a killing off the ratings. They cook up these "inspiring stories" specifically to prey on idiots.
As for you: three "NO" votes. You can go home now. 🙂

Angela Chavez73 said:Why on earth should a woman be considered a monster? Oh, right, I forgot—the standard today is just looking like some plastic Barbie doll! Apparently, being a little bit overweight is a global disgrace now. It’s pathetic how people act! We're all just mindless sheep. People will happily listen to someone like Severina or other absolute trash stars who have zero talent and can't even hold a note, yet they turn around and bash Susan Boyle just because she isn't "thin" enough, despite her having an incredible voice!

I don't think anyone actually called Susan a monster; it was someone else entirely, so maybe try paying closer attention to the thread.

Michelle Ward4 said:Honestly, I only jumped into this thread because calling someone a freak or a piece of trash is just plain insulting and out of line. But clearly, I’m way too classy for this level of vitriol, so I’m bowing out of this conversation right now. Peace. 🙂

Is Simonow’s habit of insulting people in such a disgusting way actually acceptable?
It’s funny how people think they can trash anyone else all day long, but the second they turn that same attitude toward you, suddenly it’s a problem. Total hypocrite. 🙄
So he gets this special pass to insult everyone else, but the second someone calls him out, he plays the victim? Unbelievable.

Of course you find Simon entertaining. People don't just love to watch; they love the chance to align themselves with a superior personality who gets to bully everyone else. There’s a certain thrill in watching someone inflict pain on others, whether it’s a corporate boss at a place like Goldman Sachs or some useless nobody like Simon.

Michelle Ward4 said:you're exaggerating... being persistent or resourceful are actual human virtues, not deformities.. it makes it sound like Simon Cowell is some kind of monster just because he knows his job.. before you judge him, maybe ask yourself why people would trust their entire lives and careers to someone like him in the first place..

There is a massive difference between being resourceful for your own gain (which describes most of our politicians) and actually being a decent human being.
Simon Cowell isn't a human; he's just a self-absorbed moral wreck.
People come to him with dreams—and while those dreams might be totally delusional, which they usually are—Simon isn't the right vehicle for them to actually achieve anything if they have any chance at all.
Just because some contestants are living in a fantasy world doesn't give him the right to prey on their naivety in the most disgusting way possible and crush their spirits, especially since he’s clearly not qualified to judge what's good or bad. The whole show is built on the shallowest parts of the human psyche, where people care more about looks and first impressions than vocal ability, let alone actual musical talent. It's all just a marketing machine, and Susan Boyle is nothing more than its latest product. On the surface, it looks polished, but deep down, it's rotten, pathetic, and desperate. In a few years, I don't care if she has the most perfect voice on the planet; nobody will remember her because Simon Cowell's audience will just be hunting for the next "star."
The only reason shows like this stay on the air is because of the psychological mediocrity of the masses who think exactly like you do—people who tune in just to watch the cruel destruction of anyone foolish enough to have an ambition.
Looking at your logic, I can only conclude one thing again: YES, IT IS FUCKING HARD TO BE A HUMAN BEING!
Kelly Clarkson in Music ·
I'm not even going to bother commenting on her because frankly, I couldn't care less about her.
It’s just the absolute worst way possible to package what might actually be the greatest art form out there: music.

Simon Cowell and the rest of that trash heap are just going to rake in massive profits from anyone buying up her CDs, along with those other flash-in-the-pan artists who scraped by through those massive talent shows. Millions of mindless people watch those shows just to entertain themselves at the expense of someone else's unrealistic dreams—dreams that inevitably get trampled by, to put it politely, nasty Simon & co.

And let's be real, nasty Simon & co. are the exact types who will use their record labels to squeeze out billions and billions. Meanwhile, the gullible masses—who seem to thrive on watching others fail and are easily swept up in this manufactured "success" hysteria—will just keep throwing money at these pathetic, so-called "new stars."

I don't give a damn about Kelly Clarkson, Il Divo, Leona Lewis, or anyone else spat out by that immoral machine.

As for Simon Cowell, that moral wreck is eventually going to get exactly what he deserves.
My father committed suicide. How do I cope? in Psychology ·
I remember about four years ago, I was walking through downtown with a friend from college after we’d spent the afternoon checking out an exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. As we were heading out, we started getting into this heavy, aimless conversation about why people take their own lives. It was just one of those random, dark discussions you have when you aren't really thinking about the weight of it.
The next day, she didn't show up to class. Someone else in our group messaged me saying her dad had passed away.
Later on, I found out he had committed suicide, right around the same time we were talking about it.
How? Why? For what reason? Honestly, I don't think she knows the exact truth to this day. She has her theories, but I doubt anyone truly does. All she knows is that he struggled with deep depression, and since he served in the military, she figures maybe that played a part too.
She was never much of a student to begin with, but after that, her college career basically ground to a halt. It seems like she's been stuck in place ever since, probably because of the mental toll it took. On the bright side, she eventually found a boyfriend—an expat—and has a solid circle of friends around her now.
As for me, my father passed away too, though it was from illness.
Any death in the family is a tragedy.
You have to realize that your dad likely fell into some private, hellish cycle inside his own head. If he wasn't asking for help, wasn't complaining, and wasn't giving anyone a hint that he might do something like this, then there was nothing you or your family could have done. Even if you had tried, you probably wouldn't have changed the outcome.
Unfortunately, it was just how it had to be.
Don't let pride make you feel ashamed; those feelings are hollow. And don't carry any guilt, because you aren't to blame. What you're actually feeling is pure grief over the loss; everything else is just a byproduct of that pain.

Sadly, we live in such a high-pressure society where people end up killing themselves over debt, unrequited love, losing someone they care about, feeling rejected or lonely, or feeling trapped by financial or personal circumstances and overwhelming guilt.

Just because someone suggests seeing a psychiatrist doesn't mean you're crazy. Real lunatics go to the asylum; normal people see a psychiatrist. A psychiatrist is for anyone who is self-aware enough to feel crushed by this massive, merciless world we live in.

I’m resisting seeing a psychiatrist myself, even though plenty of people tell me I should. Some say it because I’m struggling, while others say it because they think I’m starting to act like a sociopath or losing my mind, all due to the pressure from society and my environment.

Nowadays in the USA, everyone has their own therapist... and therapists have therapists of their own... unfortunately, that's just how it is.
I really hope you start feeling better. This happened recently, and it takes time to process and find some peace. Talk to your friends, talk to your family, and whatever you do, don't bottle it up inside.

You mentioned you aren't sure if a psychologist or psychiatrist will actually help. Sometimes, the whole point is just having someone to talk to about what happened. It can't get worse than where you are now; at worst, you go talk to a professional and things stay exactly the same.
Laura Booth6 said:So what if she's insecure? And what if it's actually me? Either way, you're never going to believe someone when they tell you their issues aren't being triggered by everyone else around them.

Look, why don't you go ahead and sulk somewhere else over your runaway mistress and just let the rest of us enjoy ourselves? If you don't actually have anything intelligent to contribute to the conversation, then honestly, just stay quiet.

Look, I'm honestly fed up with people digging through my ancient posts and scrolling through endless pages just to try and dig something up on me.
All this just proves I hit a nerve with the truth. But let’s be real—none of you actually want help. Nobody's going to tell you the honest truth because people can't handle it; they'd rather stay in denial. Then, when someone finally has the guts to tell you exactly who you are, you just take offense and start whining. ☕
Susan Watson31 said:You're totally wrong, and honestly, it's sad you can't see past your own nose...
By the last few sentences you wrote, I actually thought you might finally get it if someone just explained things clearly, but nope, it's just not happening...
There's so much bitterness coming off you that I can't help but think you have a serious reason for it... I feel bad for you, just like I feel bad for anyone who's miserable and angry because they lack the courage and grit to actually make a constructive change...
Change is the only constant, right? So why limit it to patterns that only make sense to you? Your whole world revolves around your own beliefs, and I think it must be incredibly hard to keep friends when you're like that—maybe that’s the secret behind why you're always "intruding" on us...
Take a hard look at yourself and clean up your own mess; only then will you be able to see what's actually on the other side of that pile...
Good luck!

Oh yeah, I'm sooooo bitter, I have zero frieeeends, I'm everything you want me to be... 😉

Whatever. It doesn't change the fact that you're deeply insecure and throwing yourself under the bus for everyone else instead of doing it "for yourself."😉
Ashley Young34 said:Look, stop acting like you’re some kind of moral authority. Everyone is entitled to their own choices, so who exactly are you to sit there and judge?😲

Look, I’m not even trying to judge you here. You honestly need some professional help, just like anyone else dealing with psychological issues. You’re convinced this is some kind of physical ailment, but the reality is that the problem is entirely in your head.
I honestly feel like you people don't actually love your bodies or how you look; in fact, you seem to despise yourselves so much that you're willing to undergo any amount of surgery just to change who you are.
Is there anything more pathetic than this?
vividfox said:How on earth can you claim to know someone else's motives?? You clearly have no clue... what, do you think people just flip through a catalog and say, "Yeah, I'll take nose number five"? We fix things we aren't happy with. And for the record, none of my relatives for three generations have had a "wrong" nose. I have the same nose my parents and grandfathers had. Please go vent your frustrations somewhere else. This forum is for those who are *for* it, not against it... hey, why don't you start a thread titled "Everyone getting surgery is an idiot and I'm a genius" and write all your little fantasies there?

Quoting:
Take my former friend, for example. She was constantly talking about getting a nose job because hers was too "potato-shaped," then wanting to shave part of her upper lip, pump up her lips, and "tweak" all sorts of other stuff.
The irony is, she’d be getting rid of everything that actually turned me on about her (no joke), so what is a guy even supposed to say?

A former friend? I completely get why you'd have these angry outbursts in her presence. And honestly, nobody cares about your erection. Best regards, I am done with you and your opinions. Goodbye, Sarah Wood8!

Listen, you arrogant brat, go try to lecture someone else. This forum is meant for various perspectives, not just yours, so if you can't handle someone having a different opinion about your group's idiotic obsession with surgery, feel free to leave.
Sure, you change whatever doesn't suit you, but when you look in the mirror, nothing seems good enough, and you'd probably rather unscrew your head and swap it for a new one. Is that normal to you? Like, "oh, this finger is a bit too long and I don't like it... I guess I'll just chop it off."
Ashley Young34 said:I honestly don't get why you're even bothering to post on this forum or in this specific thread. If you’re looking for actual advice, you can just go see a psychiatrist like you suggested. ☕

Of course you would... You all head straight under the knife, mutilating yourselves just to walk out of the hospital looking like caricatures, all to satisfy some pathetic stereotype.
It’s about more than just seeing a psychiatrist. Honestly, since when did seeking mental health support become such a source of shame? You people constantly broadcast just how insecure you really are.
Society spends its entire existence conditioning you to loathe your own body, and then, when you finally try to point out how absolutely ridiculous that is, everyone acts like you're launching a personal attack.
The fashion magazines and those self-proclaimed marketing gurus have been coming for you guys for ages. They’re all part of the same machine, peddling this fake, airbrushed version of beauty to young girls who haven't developed any sense of self yet—making them easy targets for the whole scam.
vividfox said:Don't go thinking you're better than us just because you're proud of your crooked nose. You have no right to judge us, and frankly, it's pretty low of you. Everyone has their own reasons. That should be explanation enough!

Oh, so it's "not nice" of me? Is it really "not nice" to want to point out to a human being how they could actually look decent just the way they are?
I'm not talking about medical necessity here—I'm talking about aesthetics.
Maybe it isn't "nice," but any good parent knows that sometimes you have to use a little tough love when raising people.
Look, I'm not your parent, and I'm not trying to be, but some things can't be said while you're busy patting everyone on the back.
It’s no wonder you guys are getting so defensive when someone tells you the truth to your face; clearly, you're all so insecure about your looks that every bit of criticism hits a nerve, driving you straight to the surgeon's knife.
If the motivation is purely aesthetic, there's only one real reason behind it: pure insecurity and a lack of self-confidence.
I mean, fine, if someone is actually born with some freakish, deformed potato stuck to their face instead of a nose, then sure, go under the knife. But trying to change something you inherited genetically that is actually a perfectly normal nose? That's just sick. Instead of a plastic surgeon, you should probably be seeing a psychiatrist.
Susan Watson31 said:Exactly—this is about health.
My nose was shattered two years ago, like I already mentioned... honestly, I’ve lost count of how many rounds of antibiotics I've been forced through since then. Every little thing turns into a fever, and if nothing changes, this is just my life now. Since you clearly think you have all the answers, I won't lecture you on what all those drugs do to the body, nor will I go into a medical deep dive regarding chronic inflammation in my ethmoid, sphenoid, and frontal sinuses, my tonsils, or even my lungs once upon a time...
So, spare me the judgmental tone mixed in with your own experiences and your ex-"friend"...
Try working on accepting that people are different, including the desire to actually have a functional nose.

That isn't "diversity," it's just plain stupidity. It's proof of how low-level society has become due to deeply ingrained insecurities.
I'm not saying nobody wants to look good—that's fine and all—but unfortunately, most of these urges for cosmetic surgery are totally baseless and driven by individual complexes and insecurity. That doesn't qualify as being "different."
Susan Watson31 said:You’re talking about health, but what's my actual motivation here?

You know the answer to that better than I ever could!
Susan Watson31 said:There are probably as many reasons for this as there are people like us who actually want change, so I can only speak for myself... I just want my old nose back, or at least something close to it. I don't even have to look in the mirror to know it looks different; it actually messes with my breathing, not to mention the chronic sinus inflammation in that area. Everyone else's reasons matter just as much—nobody would endure the pain or waste their money unless it was the only way to live a healthier, happier, more confident life...
Try stepping into my shoes for a second instead of trying to perform some pseudo-psychological analysis on me; maybe then you'd actually get it.

In what sense am I supposed to step into your shoes when I don't have a single complex about my slightly hooked nose? 🤷
There isn't a force on earth that would drive me under the knife unless it were for medical necessity. Instead of being grateful that we're healthy and avoiding those butchers who make a fortune off your lack of self-esteem while permanently wrecking your health, you all seem eager to hand them your money.

Take an ex-friend of mine, for example. She used to constantly talk about getting a nose job because hers was too "bulbous," and how she wanted to shave part of her upper lip, pump up her lips, and "adjust" a few other things.
The irony is, she’d basically be stripping away everything that made me attracted to her in the first place (I'm being dead serious), so what is there even to say? What kind of glitch in your brain tells you that you need a whole new nose? Maybe just peel off your entire face under pressure and slap on a new one—preferably plastic? Yeah, wouldn't that be just great!
Here's a little something regarding that topic:
http://209.85.129.132/search?q=cache...ient=firefox-a
How old are you? This could actually be a heart issue.
To be honest, I’ve been dealing with the exact same thing lately, especially whenever I get worked up (and let me tell you, I've had plenty of reasons to be stressed these past few months).
I also had numbness in my left pinky and that side of my hand right below it—it even spread up my arm a bit—but it eventually passed.
I don't want to derail this perfectly good thread, but I honestly can't wrap my head around why people have such massive complexes about their noses.
Did someone bully you relentlessly back in middle school or something? Why does everyone feel so inferior just because their nose isn't some cookie-cutter version of the "average" look? What’s with this desperate drive to strip away all personality from your own face by shrinking a nose or overfilling lips? Seriously, do you actually hate yourselves enough to go under the knife just to shave off a tiny bump?
That's how you're going to look, and that's how your kids will look too.
It seems to me people would be happiest if we all looked identical—or at least like the boring majority—just so they can escape being themselves and "fit in" with the mindless crowd.
For those of you here talking about rhinoplasty, I highly doubt you ever actually had an unattractive nose, and I doubt anyone besides you would even notice if something were "off."
Stop obsessing over fashion magazines and those ridiculous beauty stereotypes like some caricature of Angelina Jolie and try focusing on your own mental and psychological growth instead.
Nothing gets under my skin quite like people who are just plain dim-witted or incredibly obnoxious—the kind of folks where, after talking to them for all of two minutes, it’s glaringly obvious they lack basic logic or are so blinded by their own stupidity that everything they say sounds like it came from a clueless five-year-old.

I also have zero patience for people with rotten characters... those manipulators who love to take advantage of others, the ones who are totally reckless, the guilt-trippers, or just the shallow types who blindly follow every little social norm and stereotype because they don't actually have a backbone or an original thought in their heads.

Don’t go getting defensive on me right away. I was just suggesting it’s probably nothing more than a stomach bug. The fact that those doctors completely botched the diagnosis just goes to show how incompetent they really are.
Next time she has a toothache, they’ll probably try to pull her kidney out too. You shouldn't be running to the ER unless there's an actual, legitimate reason to go.
I still remember one time when they tried to pull something similar on me... I managed to make a run for it at the last second.
