Any weather nerds in here?

My old breaks still ache sometimes, though it’s not like they act up every single time the weather shifts.

...Yeah, yeah, I went. But honestly? I mentally prepared myself this time and slept like a baby. Yesterday and today have been totally fine—I could probably go for a run if I had to😁. Now, what’s actually bugging me is🤔 how I feel after those two pills. I haven't taken anything else since, nothing was hurting, and here I am today feeling like a brand new person🙂
. ...I did the urine test and blood work, plus some X-rays, so that's that. Results come in Monday afternoon. I'll probably be stuck in a clinic this weekend...
👋

I don't know, man. Last night I had this pain right where my left kidney is. It wasn't "referred pain" or whatever—my mother-in-law keeps telling me the pain should be hitting my groin instead. But seriously, it hurt so bad I was practically crawling on all fours just to get to the bathroom. I couldn't move my left leg more than three centimeters off the floor, and getting out of the tub was a total struggle. Peeing went fine, though. What could it be? A coworker thinks maybe it's kidney stones. I'm heading to my doctor today and I'm gonna ask for an X-ray or an ultrasound. Which one is better?
....and somehow my mother-in-law saved the day🙂 my husband ran out to grab some Robaxin, and I took one at 10 PM and another at 4 AM. Now? Not a single ache left.??????

Raymond Rodriguez40 said:So, I ran a little test myself...
Honestly, I'd rather just go smoke a gram and a half than deal with this much memory bullshit.😁
Sam Evans3 said:I don't buy those half-baked "tests" floating around, so I ran my own latency benchmarks.
Setup: P4 2.8 GHz C @ 3.5 (FSB 250)
FX5900 stock settings
1x512MB DDR400
1) RAM at 400MHz (Timings 2-3-5-2)
3dMark 2001 - 15930
Aida 32: read- 3007
write- 1228
2) RAM at 500MHz (Timings 3-4-8-4)
3dMark 2001 - 16167
Aida 32: read- 3641
write- 1370
So here's my takeaway: regardless of whatever fake tests people push, memory running at 400 with loose timings is way faster than 400 with aggressive timings.
Whoever ran that other test clearly needs a new prescription or just doesn't know how to run a basic benchmark.
Plus, 3dMark isn't even meant for measuring memory speed, which just shows they have no clue what they're doing.

How much bandwidth are you getting at 333MHz versus 500MHz!?
Don't just claim that running 0-0-0-0 latencies at 333MHz somehow beats 3-4-4-10 at 500MHz.
That's just not how it works. On an Intel system, even using dual Channel at 333MHz, you’re looking at a measly 2700 Mb/s under ideal conditions regardless of latency. If you run it at 200 MHz—which hits a 3200 max throughput—the bandwidth is higher even with the worst settings in Single Channel...
What kind of math are you doing? It's faster if the clock speed is higher, right?
Kenneth White17 said:I can't say I agree with that.
Neither can anyone else who actually understands how memory works.
Maybe do a little homework before chiming in...

Thomas Ward9 said:Heh, looks like you guys have some real beasts... I don't really have much going on. Just wondering how high I can push this Celeron 553MHz? Got PC 133 RAM, 128 MB. Motherboard is a Gigabyte (not sure which one, Socket 1). Graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce 9250, 32 MB.
electriceagle40 said:I mean, I could ask... why wouldn't you go even higher?
Tyler Lee57 said:I forgot to mention what happened when I tried to overclock my rig. I bumped it up to 3.0, hit save and exit, and the PC kept running, but then I lost the video signal. After a reboot, I just got a black screen saying "BIOS failure" and asking for a system floppy disk... (yeah, a literal floppy)
MAN, YOU ALMOST GAVE ME A HEART ATTACK, Tyler Lee57. I was sweating bullets there. I ended up power cycling it a few times until I finally reached the BIOS, reset everything back to 2.4, and managed to boot into Windows.....
