It's been a long time since people used to be sedated constantly... and things like Praxiten are just sedatives.
You treat depression with antidepressants and therapy; you take sedatives only when you actually need them.
amberorca192, seriously, if 50 mg of Valium isn't enough to "calm you down," then you clearly need something else... are you even seeing a psychologist or a psychiatrist?
I see a psychiatrist, though not as much lately because I've been feeling way better.
I read that thread you started about your relative, so I figured you get what this is like.
I can just list my diagnoses for you:
OCD
Bipolar disorder
Schizoid personality disorder
Acute schizophrenia
As for the meds I've taken or am still on:
Valium, Xanax, Lexapro, Tegretol, Amisulpride, Zyprexa,
Nozinan, Stelazine, Clozaril, Haldol, etc.
My condition has improved over the last two years so much that I rarely touch the heavy stuff anymore; benzos usually do the trick.
On the rare occasions they don't, I'll take 200-300 mg of Stelazine or 50 mg of Clozaril, which is basically nothing compared to what I was on before.
I'd rather not talk about it anymore.😢
