What should I get for a godparent gift at a Baptism? in Students & Teens ·
I’m serving as a maid of honor too... this June 6th.
It’s my fourth time.
And I’m buying a camera, a gold set, makeup, clothes, a wallet, cash...
That's just how it goes for me—it's tradition.
My brother was the best man three times and actually bought them motorcycles.

If you ask me, it’s insane.
I wouldn't go that far if it were my money, but it isn't mine—my parents are footing the bill. And they won't say a word about spending less because "tradition" demands it... apparently, if you don't drop $1,000, you're a lousy maid of honor.
Seriously, it's awful to me. My own maid of honor didn't give me nearly that much, and then the poor girl felt embarrassed because she was being perfectly reasonable...?!
It's pointless..

But I agree, you can find some beautiful necklaces or rings for a few hundred bucks.
The MP3 player idea is fine, but it doesn't feel like a proper gift from a maid of honor. Forget an MP3 player. It'll break, and then what? Buy her something she can actually keep forever. A gold coin, or something like that..

To put it simply: if we are talking about implantation bleeding, a pregnancy test would show a positive result because there would be enough hCG present... Based on what I am reading here, what you are experiencing seems a bit too heavy to be mere implantation, especially since they describe it as a pinkish, mucus-like discharge mixed with normal spotting...
If I were in your shoes, I would just go out and buy a test to ease my own mind. Whatever one reads online, I always tend to view it with a certain degree of skepticism, as many of these symptoms are quite subjective and vary from person to person, don't you think?

I appreciated the link, but honestly, a quick summary would have been better—it's Saturday, and I've got cleaning to do..
Yeah, it does look heavy to me too, but then again, looking back at my last pregnancy, I had two "periods" before I even realized I was pregnant at three months..
thanks 👍
I’ve been scouring this entire forum looking for anything regarding implantation bleeding, but I'm coming up empty. The only thing I could find over at nytimes.com was that it might last up to two days—which happens to be where I am right now—so I wanted to see if anyone could actually give me some specifics. Like, how long does it typically go on, how heavy is it, what color should I expect?

Why am I being so intense about this? Because I feel like I'm having a full-on period, yet there's absolutely no pain. Usually, I can't get through a single cycle without painkillers, but right now, I don't feel a thing—just a slight "awareness" of my uterus. Plus, normally my breasts get really tender right before my period starts and then flatten out on day one🤣, but this time they’re still feeling quite full...🙏

So, here is the breakdown of my flow: on the first day, it was basically nothing. Just a tiny bit on the daily pad. More like discharge. Really, really minimal.
Yesterday, I used maybe two pads total. Today, I’m almost done; I’ve used one and I don't think I'll need another.

P.S.: I'm not saying I'm not changing my pads, I'm just trying to explain the volume.😍
placidjackal14 said:Look, Joshua Clark.... girls have talked about this plenty of times already. There’s something called implantation bleeding in early pregnancy while the embryo is still "nesting" in the uterus. That plug you mentioned isn't that... the bloody, mucousy plug comes out right before you give birth, so we can definitely rule that out in your case. Just go grab a test and try it, or wait a few more days; maybe it really is just a light period, maybe you've been under a ton of stress or something....

Whatever happens, I hope you get the result you're hoping for! 😘

How heavy is the bleeding usually?
I haven't seen this guy in two and a half years because he was busy claiming the kid wasn't his and calling me every name in the book. Then—surprise, surprise—the DNA test he demanded proves I'm telling the truth, and suddenly there’s this spark again during our second meeting. We just couldn't resist, so we're trying to start over—supposedly "more mature" this time.
I decided to forgive him—for the sake of the kid having both parents, for the child support, and honestly, just because I love him—so we could move past the drama. But then yesterday, he hits me with this: he says he swore an oath he wouldn't be with me, and that he's spent the last three years telling everyone how terrible I am, so now he can't just change his story.
I told him straight up—I've made plenty of vows too, and if I see him, I'm going to lose it, and he's never touching that child again. But then he changes his tune—claims it's about feelings, logic, the baby—and while he admits he feels the same way, he insists he can't go back because "not everyone works that way."
The thing is, whenever we are together, he's constantly with the little one—but the second we aren't a couple, he barely shows his face.
WELL, THAT'S JUST HOW IT WORKS!!
It's not like I'm gatekeeping him or anything—it's just that if we aren't a couple, I don't exactly have nothing better to do than hang out with him all day, especially with my workload.
Just saying. By the way, he sees the kid just as often regardless of us, but whatever...
Now I'm getting off track... I don't know... I don't think I'm actually pregnant. On one hand, that would be a relief, but when I think about having to deal with surgery again... yeah, no thanks.

Men... honestly, they’re all cut from the same cloth. I had a total idiot for an ex, and when I met this current guy, I thought I had finally hit the jackpot. We even talked about renting our own place, but look at him now—just another stubborn fool, just like any other. It’s all the same old mess, isn't it? And we’re the ones losing sleep and suffering while they certainly aren't paying the price for us. Not a chance. Just hang in there; things will settle down eventually.😘

honey, I'm honestly just over it all
Hey everyone... I’m still bleeding and my breasts are still so swollen (it feels exactly like when I was pregnant for the first time), so I honestly don't know..
but.. yesterday was just brutal.. he actually admitted to me that he stayed by my side the whole time just so he could see the little one.
I can't even put into words what's going on inside me.. I feel dead. Just completely hollow.
That’s me... my breasts haven't even swollen—which they definitely should have—and honestly, I'm not feeling any cramps at all either.
But the bleeding is way heavier—I actually had to switch to a pad today..
we'll see..

I might be able to find out... but I'm not actually singing right now, so I don't have anything to send you.
And anyway, I wasn't even recording there—plus, that genre is way, way off from what I do.
I can dig up all the info for you, but why do you even need it?

Yeah, she’s lively... definitely. I think she actually owns a studio—my manager mentioned we’d be heading over there to track some tracks soon. 🙂

It’s actually spelled Senna m, not sena m..

I want some tuc-tuc.. 🤣 🤣

Back when you were just a little thing, everyone used to call you "something"
because you always had this rhythm of your own—you’d stay up dancing all through the night..
🤣
Maybe it’s just hormones... 😘
Look, you need to settle EVERYTHING first. Tell him straight up that this is massive and you guys need to talk—like, really talk. Spend the whole weekend if you have to, just laying it all out exactly how you explained it to us. Make it clear that you need answers and he needs to make a call. Tell him the joking around is over, things are dead serious now, and he needs to get his act together.
Man, I bet you could really give him an earful!!! 🙂
placidjackal14 said:So, wait... does he actually care more about his mommy than he does about you and your unborn baby? Look, leaving my own parents was incredibly hard, don't get me wrong, but I would move to the literal edge of the earth for my husband... just saying. Try sitting him down and having a real talk—explain that things will be way better if you two have your own space. Besides, if you end up moving in with his mother like he wants, he'll realize how much of a headache that "communal" living situation actually is sooner rather than later!

Like, zero sex.😍
Sorry for joking about it now, but it reminded me of something—back when we were younger, I stayed over at his place for a weekend while he was still living with his parents. Let me tell you, they cleared out fast... the second the lights went out.😍
neoncobra43 said:Yes, that was exactly the situation for me, and now I’m at a total loss. I have a boyfriend and an only son who is so attached to his mother he can't stand to be apart from her, and the prospect of moving in with his family sounds like a living nightmare. Part of me has even considered just sending everything away and raising the child on my own. To put it bluntly, I feel like I've made a massive mess of my life.

Don't go there... how far along are you? Look—I'm a single mom, and let me tell you—nothing you think you know about being a single parent covers even 5% of what's actually coming your way. Sadly, that's just the reality.
Try talking it out with him one more time. Maybe you can find some middle ground—like finding a place for just the three of you nearby, or helping him realize that while his kid was the center of the universe before, a new little person is about to become the new center of the world. I don't know... I've seen this happen with an ex, and it's incredibly tough.
Either they get it or they don't. It's a messy situation, for sure.
But look at it this way: if he loves you and you guys work well together, his family will always be his priority. And that family is you and the baby you're carrying.
Give it another shot. If he truly loves you—and if he truly loves that child—I highly doubt he'd ever let you raise this baby all by yourself.
placidjackal14 said:Unknown... look, if you want a baby but you're worried you won't be able to have one after the surgery... just take action, talk to your boyfriend/husband... if you want to be pregnant, I'm crossing my fingers for you!!! My advice is to go see a gynecologist regardless, they'll be able to give you a 100% certain answer to your question......

do you have any kids already??

Yeah, I do... though it’s definitely not some perfect fairy tale. I’m a single mom. The father actually resurfaced after two and a half years of zero contact, and now he wants to be involved in everything. He loves our little guy, and we've been together constantly lately—things are honestly better than they used to be (this whole saga has been going on for five years now). We're currently trying for another one because we love each other and we want our son to have a sibling.
That said, I still don't fully trust him yet—we're both still students and all that...
So, the situation is light-years away from being "ideal" for having another baby. Plus, my doctor warned me that it's either get pregnant before the surgery or undergo the procedure and say goodbye to Unknown and Ramona—or whoever else (since I've always wanted my son to have a brother or sister).
Nobody—like I said the first time, and I'll say it again—
whatever happens, happens.
I am incredibly grateful to the universe for my son, and we'll just see if the universe decides I need more children in my life. 🙂
Thanks, ladies. I’m bleeding a bit heavier today, but it’s still nothing compared to my usual flow.
Honestly, if I were pregnant, I definitely wouldn't be upset. I want a kid. Especially since right after giving birth—assuming I can even carry a pregnancy to term—I have to go under the knife. Basically, if I'm not pregnant, I'll need surgery very soon, which means having kids becomes off the table entirely. The timing is just terrible... really sucks. Even the first time around wasn't exactly ideal 😍
Nobody knows, we'll see. It is what it is. I just have to step up and take responsibility.

@neoncobra43: I know I’m being dense, but somewhere in the back of my mind, I had this thought—like, who am I to know? Maybe once all that (semen) dries up, it isn't as mobile anymore. You get what I mean? Of course, I wasn't actually planning for that; I just didn't give it much thought because I figured when the sperm are all together in that fluid mass, they're plenty mobile and all that (since most women can't get pregnant any other way...). But once that stuff dries out, it'll be hard for an XX or XY to swim out of it. Are you saying that was exactly what happened with you?

@placidjackal14: I wasn't on antibiotics, but I did have diarrhea and vomiting for a week—lost 10 pounds. I ate nothing, so I assumed the sample was weaker because of that. However, I've been eating normally for a while now. In fact, I'm eating a ton.
Hmm... was I even sick, or...? 🤔

Anyway, I can't wait to find out the exact details so I can let you guys know how fascinating nature is—and how even more fascinating idiots can be 😍 😂 🤣
Maria Williams55 said:Okay, so you lost 11 pounds, but what I actually want to know is, did any of that "stubborn fat" actually melt away (if you even had any)?

I’m wondering the same thing. Honestly, I recently lost about 9 pounds in a single week because I was sick, and I felt absolutely terrible—even though my actual size hadn't changed much, I just looked pretty rough with dark circles under my eyes and everything.
